Cool. My own game is going in a more mundane direction.

Had a good night out with friends last night. Ramen and a dessert bar- Chickalicious. Despite the title, they were not serving us women, which only slightly disappointed me, but they DID serve us the most AMAZING dessserts. I got the mille(sp) cake that was rated the best in NY, as well as chai tea creme brulee(sp- what can I say? I'm not a francophone). Twas awesome.

Yep.
The group demanded another Friday session rather than leave on a cliffhanger for a week.

I had a rage moment on the way to work this morning.
The local rock radio station does call-in giveaways that usually involve stupid little question-and-answers sessions. One they do is "Heaven or Hell", which they give you a person - can be fictional, historical, contemporary, whatever - and the person has to answer "if this person was dead (if they're not already) would they be in Heaven or Hell?"
Today featured Thomas Edison and according to the DJ the answer was "Heaven" "cause, c'mon, he created the light bulb and the video camera".
I was near screaming "LOOK UP NIKOLA TESLA YOU MORON" at the radio for five minutes.

I will be trying this place.

I'm not up on tesla vs Edison, although I found I to be a fascinating part of assassins creed. Please update me, I know tesla fanatics tend to foam at the mouth over the light bulb thing, but due to their zeal zeal, I have yet to hear a coherent argument.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Read this. Explains everything pretty coherently. Not in great detail mind, but entertainingly.
Short version: Edison really didn't invent anything other than ways to finagle people out of contracts and rip them off. He was really good at selling stuff, and really good at convincing people to work with him, but wasn't much of an inventor. He just found them, got them to sign on with him and funded their stuff, then took credit. He was a thief.

Ugh. That could have gone better. Had 50 minutes to go through 9 questions. Was done in about 25. Sadly, I fart a lot when I'm nervous.
And I forgot to add in a lot of stuff that would have made me smell better.
Oh well.
Ugh. Hopefully they read that as excitement.
Did you remember to wear pants this time? Did they muffle your flatulence?
Seriously, hoping that it all works in your favor.

dood, this is the oatmeal. I love the Site, but this is exactly what I'm talking about with respect to to tesla-philes not being very coherent in their arguments.. It's like talking to a proud Italian on the Franconi-bell debate regarding the telephone. Not yelling at you, mind, but it's starting to get Pluto-is-not-a-planet level frustrating in the search for answers
