And, I get a text from the wife saying she's not sure when she's gonna get out of work. Started off as "I only need to go in for the out brief meeting". Then it progressed to "I have a meeting with the captain right after the out brief". Now this.
I was hoping we'd get some quality us time for our anniversary (tomorrow) - some time without the boy - looks like that ain't gonna happen.
Anniversarnooners are imperative.

Ugh. I get that we are busy at work. That is why everybody is behind on their work: there is too much of it and too few of us.
Somehow, management's solution that I need to work 50 hours per week does not seem like the best strategy.
Burnout in 5, 4, 3, 2...
Yeah, if that's anything other than short term, they're gonna lose the productivity they still have in about a month, at most.

My hours right now are M-F 8am to 7pm. So I'm not kidding about the daylight thing...
That's us during January. I got in around 8.30, didn't leave until 8 or even 9 on some nights. Year-end bookwork is hell.
Thankfully come February it got trimmed quickly back to 6, and after about a week or two overtime stopped being required. Hopefully it goes the same for you.

This is supposed to be a slow time of year...
But yes, here's hoping. With some maternity leaves coming up, though, I don't see it getting better until October-ish.

Huzzah's, congratulations and positive waves to all those who need them!
Avengers was FAWESOME!!!!!!! You should all stop whatever you're doing right now, get to the nearest theater, and see this movie!
GO! NOW!
I didn't get a chance to go see the movie, unfortunately. Will attempt to see it tomorrow morning.

I enjoyed my second viewing, watched it in the small local cinema in 2D (family buisness since1924) sadly the cinema was not even half full (American Pie in the bigger t the broom was packed) Avengers is no success at the box office here (maybe because no one had ever heard of them before)

Well, I have big news. I've been holding off on posting anything because this is my name and all, but I have officially resigned my current position in order to join a new company in two weeks' time.
It's been a stressful week and a half, but all in all I am pleased. I like the new position, I think I have more room to move up in the new place, and the dress code is JEANS EVERY DAY (a client's not there, anyway...).
A week and a half is a quick job search - though it's been crazy hectic.
So I wanted to post a little celebration, and I wanted to wish all my fellow FAWTLIES who are in the job market good luck in finding something fawesome!
Woo! And stuff...

Take heart, my dear Aeglos. Avengers has been successful most of the rest of the world over. I believe I read somewhere that it's made over $700 million worldwide already.
$800 million as of yesterday.

Indeed! I was actually just reading that, and using the same stat in the movie section and the Avengers thread.

Wahoo, Jess !!!!!!!!!! Congratulations on the new job. The only place that I worked that didn't freak on your dress code was on the Docks. They were just glad if you showed up.
BTW went to see Avengers in 3D last night with HD. Interesting movie. Way expensive for me. Don't think I'll be seeing a lot of movie this year. Will wait til they come out on DVD.

Man. We had created all kinds of crazy theories trying to figure out if something was up that we missed!

PBP and painting are my stress relief. Don't get me wrong, I love playing in person too, but I get to do that maybe once a week if things go well. I need my fix in between times. :)
Edit: And music, but I don't really think of that as stress relief so much as something I need in order to keep anxiety to a minimum. It's actually physiological not psychological. Music helps cover over and/or make bearable noises that really bother me because of having menniers. I'm less anxious when I'm not super dizzy and motion sick because the car engine is too loud or the refrigerator makes a buzzing noise. Seems logical to me. :P

And now that I don't have to rush to work, a bit more detail (spoilered for mentioning politics tangentially):
I guessI had just heard that kind of "I don't want to spend five seconds to think about whether I might insult someone who don't deserve it, and if I do insult someone that's too bad but no skin off my back" argument once too many. People - be nice to other people and life will be a lot nicer for everyone!

I glad the party in PBP doesn't heed this song. Muwawawawaha!
Honestly, deciphering who's doing what is more like this.
