Now that we have experienced the frenetic pace of a real life battle, I have come up with some ideas to make future ones a little less chaotic, at least for the players and DM.
I will roll all initiatives and post an ordered list.
Start each combat post with the following information: round x; initiative y; hp current/max; current effects, conditions, active spells, etc. that are combat relevant
For each round:
Post current map if enough significant changes have occured.
First block of pcs/npcs goes.
Second block of pcs/npcs goes.
Continue posting by blocks of pcs/npcs until everyone has posted.
Recap round.
This will slow combats down a little bit, but hopefully make them easier for everyone to follow. I will also try to get more visible coordinates on the maps to allow for easier description of movement and actions.

FYI, I have read the "City of Strangers" Campaign book from Paizo. I play in Pathfinder Society games and a couple of the scenarios so far have been set in Kaer Maga. I wanted a chance to play "The Godsmouth Heresy" before hopefully running it someday for Pathfinder Society. So this will be a fun/good experience before running it for Society. I have certainly enjoyed it thus far.

It is definitely an interesting city, and if I was more capable of writing a campaign on my own, it would definitely a good place to base one out of. As it is, I will be sticking with one of the APs for my first attempt at a full fledged campaign due to lack of experience.
Having read the book, I can give people a little more basic information the city. The city walls, ancient beyond belief, are wide enough that most of the city's neighborhoods are actually inside them and vertically on them, with one section of the walls destroyed for as long as the histories show. The main entrance is through this ruined section which quite literally cannot be closed because it is an open hole. You entered a gate that led to the Cavlacade district, which is the industrial district. In the middle of the wall, there is an opening with a lake in the middle, and the main commercial and visitor districts border 2/3s of this lake, which provides water to the entire city.

Bear in mind that not everything I am doing is strictly from the module, as I do not play Pathfinder Society (organized play just doesn't work for me), and have added this first part to get everyone together properly before the real fun begins.

No problem there, I haven't read the module yet. Was going to wait until after playing it. I find its always good to see how someone else runs a mod before reading it. Gives extra ideas and sometimes a better understanding of what the mod is trying to accomplish.

To give you an idea of just how loose this town is when it comes to goods and services provided, the necromancer district has a brothel with undead prostitutes, and for a extra fee, they will even remove the external controls from them, letting the clients tame the raging spirit of the undead prostitute themselves.

You could label at the top of your post as a Suprise Round, and list an order of actions for the round before posting the initiative that follows. Hopefully everyone would understand that.

So, I can post today from work like normal, or try to assuming I dont get swamped. Tomorrow Im going to be busy running some Pathfinder Society scenarios at our lgs for most of the day, but after that, I'll be going to pick my pc up from being repaired.
So, this evening I'll try to post, but no guarentees. Tomorrow, I wont have time to post til I get home at night (Central Standard time).

Home of the world's largest pheasant. :)
Not where I grew up, but where the work is at and my wife likes it a lot. Of course she's from SD, so that helps. Flat, very flat, you can literally see for 10 to 20 miles if you are standing on a small hill. And by small hill, I mean 10 to 20 feet. So if you stood on top of your house, you could see well over 20 miles. There is a small ridge carved by the glaciers that is about 40 miles away and you can see it. Trees only exist in groves around building sites and in town. And they don't get much taller then the houses. Pretty dry in the summer time, we average about 20 inches of precipitation per year. Winters get below 0F often and summers can top out over 100F just as often.
Probably more than you wanted to know, but thought I would throw it out there.

I am trying to keep up with everybody's posts, but work is starting to pick up with spring coming up, so if I don't respond immediately, give me a few hours. Also, on weekends, my posts will be more spread out as I am more likely to be away from the computer for most of the day. You can still, and I encourage you to, interact with each other, as frequently as you can post.

Full Attack
If you get more than one attack per round because your base attack bonus is high enough (see Base Attack Bonus in Classes), because you fight with two weapons or a double weapon, or for some special reason, you must use a full-round action to get your additional attacks. You do not need to specify the targets of your attacks ahead of time. You can see how the earlier attacks turn out before assigning the later ones.
The only movement you can take during a full attack is a 5-foot step. You may take the step before, after, or between your attacks.
If you get multiple attacks because your base attack bonus is high enough, you must make the attacks in order from highest bonus to lowest. If you are using two weapons, you can strike with either weapon first. If you are using a double weapon, you can strike with either part of the weapon first.

"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"
Ha, ha, we are getting it hard here. Sleet and snow mix constantly since about midnight last night. I think there is a new 4 inches and its supposed to continue until tomorrow morning. See its a pretty tight band, but those getting it are to get a lot.

Woke up this morning, and it was still snowing. lol But its pretty light now. Hopefully I will be able to get to work tomorrow. There's over a foot of snow on the street and I don't have four-wheel drive.

I am not having problems with the base maps, but keeping positioning current is something I am having troubles with, as my current system basically is a different copy of the base map. Any suggestions or experience with this issue?
One game I'm in is experimenting with Dabbleboard. Here's the one we're using so far in CotCT (spoiler alert!). (Look but don't touch, please - I'm not sure if we're done with it yet : ) Basically, it's an interactive whiteboard where the DM posts the map and our icons, and anyone can modify it, so we can all move our icons on our turn.

Darren Roy |

I'll have to look into it tonight. I've had people suggest maptools, but that seems to have a lot of things I really don't want to mess with right now.
Yeah, I didn't have time to learn maptools when I was trying to run a game. I just made an excel spreadsheet with square-shaped cells for a grid, and blacked out the solid areas. I put people on it using their initials, and left room for a legend for NPCs (eg, "GC = Goblin Commando"). I'd take a screenshot of the spreadsheet and post it on photobucket. Here's an example. I could reuse the grid template, and just change the blacked out areas for each encounter. It's possible that GoogleDocs could create a similar spreadsheet that we could modify when we take our actions.

@ Sunshadow:
I wonder your personal feelings on a swarm being affected by Channel Positive Energy.
As far as I know, there is no rule in the book that says it wouldnt affect a swarm, but considering that doing dmg to a swarm means killing lots of bugs (in our case, atm) and the remainder finally scattering, opposed to injuring a single foe and finally killing it, I would consider a swarm (at least a swarm of something immune to weapon dmg) to be immune to healing.

sunshadow21 |

Channel Energy is an area effect, and so I would go with the part under swarms for area effects, which is they only feel half of it. Since cockroaches are considered living creatures I would treat them as benefiting from positive energy and being harmed by negative energy. They aren't immune to channel energy any more than they are immune to fireballs, they just don't feel the full effect of either.
