What does this mean?

Gunslinger Discussion: Round 1

what does it mean when it reads "the gunslinger is an alternate class to the fighter core class."

ive been doing some readings on here and i see lots of people interpreting this to mean different things, like you get access to fighter feats, you get the fighter feat progression, and so on....

It means that anything that requires a Fighter to use/qualify for (eg. Weapon Specialization) can be taken by a Gunslinger and used without penalty.

It also means that you can never have levels of both Fighter and Gunslinger, but only one or the other.

It doesn't give any other benefits of the Figther Class unless it is otherwise noted in the Gunslinger description.

so no fighter/gunslinger combo?
