Multiple Versions of PCGen on the same PC?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Can you run different versions of PCGen on the same PC?

Has anyone tried it?

I ask because I'm having problems with RC10 which is the latest stable version.

Further, I think my GM is on an earlier version so that would be good for being able to send a copy that they can open! ;)

Any help is appreciated. :)

I’ve ran multiple versions before and it didn’t cause any issues. But I can’t say if every version plays nice with every other version.

Thanks for the input! :)

It might be a good idea to install the different versions in different directories. Depending on the OS and program that can often make it easier to run different builds of a program, but it depends on how the developer wrote the program.

If you install it in the same directory chances are a lot of the files will get overwritten.

Oh for sure that is what I would do. Maybe even on a different partition.

Thanks for the concern. :)

Turns out my GM has updated to the same version as me. Yay!!! :)
