Playoff Foosball!

Off-Topic Discussions

I'm not sure how many of you actually care about the NFL, but it is getting to be close to Playoff time with the Superbowl starting next month.

Anyways, I mainly started this thread to say how much I hate Carson Palmer (Quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals).

Yep, I just watched the Giants get knocked out of the playoffs, of course they deserve it for 5 quarters of terrible play on both sides of the ball.

Tonights' game should be interesting. I would prefer to see the Rams in the playoffs as I think Sam Bradford is the next Peyton Manning.

I am pretty sure most Bungles fans hate Carson Palmer too.

Since I bleed black and gold, I must say that I hate Carson Palmer too. And the rest of the bengals. But I reserve most of my spite, wrath, and hatred for the Ratbirds of Baltimore. And if Cleveland gets good anytime soon, I will re-up my hatred of them too. Right now, I think its a shame that Peyton Hillis plays for them, because I like him except for the fact he is a Brown.

Fixed that for you. Green Bay won, the Giants could have played brilliantly today and it would have been for naught.

But, playing like crap since the 4th quarter of that Philly game? That's what killed y'all. And got a dog killer in the playoffs.

Nice job, Giants!

Interesting enough, I don't hate the Steelers but I despise both the Ravens and the Browns (Mainly because I see the Ravens as the former Browns). However, I do not like Ben Rothesberger (sp?). But at least he's not Tom Brady...god I hate Tom Brady.

Alright!! Who ya got???

Steelers / Ravens

Seahawks / Bears

Packers / Falcons

Jets / Patriots

Me: Steelers over Ravens, Bears DESTROY Seahawks, Falcons over The Pack, and (I can't believe I'm gonna say this) Patriots over the Jets.

Steelers over Ravens for sure.

Bears over Seahawks, even though the 'Hawks are my "home team."
Packers are going to demolish the Falcons.
Jets beat the Patriots in overtime.

Liberty's Edge

Go Steelers! Beat the Baltimorons!

Liberty's Edge

Well, at least the dog killer lost. That's all I cared about this post season, really.

I hates me some Tom brady, too. The man needed two rule changes just to win anything. ("tuck" rule and the Brady's knees rule) And his constant whining everytime that anyone so much as touches him irks me.

Two for two today.

Good. Hope today goes well too. Except I'd love to see the SeaHawks win.

Honestly, my biggest problem with the 'Hawks is that a win today would make the .500 on the season. I just don't think that is a good precedent.

David Fryer, would you be interested in going to vegas with me?

I don't think I could get out of class for that long. :)

Well so much for having a team with a losing record enter the playoffs and then winning the Super Bowl. I think from here on out I'm going to root for Green Bay only because I am not a fan of any of the remaining teams and Green Bay seems to be the team that would actually make the Super Bowl interesting.

Liberty's Edge

Adjusts Steelers hat.

Salivates.

I predict a Bears/Steelers Super Bowl.

The Exchange

That prediction is B/S. ;)

I think David's on the right path.

I don't know which way that the Super Bowl will go, although if pressed I would say that the Bears probably are more hungry for it. It has been a lot longer for the Bears than for the Steelers.

David I am going to have to disagree and take the Packers over the Bears. Of course I could be wrong. ;)

I went back and forth about that decision. Ultimately I think that the Bears just want it more. I think both teams are close and both Jay Cutler and Aaron Rodgers are rising stars in the NFL, but Cutler has gotten a lot more bad press and has more to prove than Rodgers does. Plus the Bears need to show that they are the real deal and that this surge they have had is not a fluke. The only thing the Packers really have to prove is that they can be successful without Farve, and they have done that.

Liberty's Edge

I foresee Packers/Steelers - although it could easily go either way, in both conferences. I think the Jets are a bit more likely to beat my Steelers than the Bears are to beat the Pack.

In a Packers/Steelers Super Bowl, I'd say the Steelers would win, based only on their experience in past Super Bowls and the strength of their run defense. Green Bay is obviously a pass first team, but if they can be made truly one-dimensional through a complete inability to run the ball (and they would be), it would allow the Steelers to really pin their ears back and get pressure on Rogers. Which, I think, translates into a seventh title for Pittsburgh.

Granted, I am a bit of a homer, but I try to look at football as a whole and not just as a Steelers fan.

Thats not all the Green and Gold had/has to prove. They're also missing like 50% of there defence with players being on IR and then some of their backups being on IR so they're trying to prove that not only starters can make a team good enough to get to the bowl or deep into the playoffs.

My predection is for the the packers and the steelers in the super bowl though I am not sure who wins.

Liberty's Edge

My thing is: imagine how good the Pack would be if they only had Finley back, let alone all those other players. I'd definitely consider them favorites if they had all those guys around.

Jeremiziah, May I ask where you reside? Cause if its here in western PA being a homer is a way of life. Go Stillers!
