I was just curious, and thought that it might be fun to hear what other DMs (And Players) rsponded with.
I am DMing Kingmaker, the party is currently Lvl 6, near the end of the 2nd Module.
Lowyn Theda: Half-Elf Cavalier (order of the Dragon)6
Dribble: Half-Orc Alchemist
Gurdrin: Dwarf Inquisitor 4/Ranger 2
Emyl: Half-Elf Rogue (Scout) 6
Efrem: Lvl 6 Witch (Fox Familiar), also the Baron.
Casidius Heartwine: Cleric of Cayden Caleen (sp?) 6
Deceased: Malakai,Half-Orc Rogue2/Barbarian 2
NPCs attached to the group
Mik-Mek, Kobold Hero (Rogue) 1/Cavalier (Order of the Dragon)3
Fat Nobby: Human Rogue 3(Investigator) /Fighter 1
Yaargh: Half-Orc Fighter (Archer) 4
Dorn von Benbreck: Human Fighter (Crossbowman)4
Fiero: Gnome Sorcerer 4
A few others. I have been bringing the NPCs along in a more organic way, getting them ready for the PCs taking Leadership. Now, we have a nice pool of them, and the PCs actually care about what happens to them, rather than taking the Feat and asking for X Class or Y Class.

You can see my cast of characters here. Party is currently level 5, about midway through Rivers Run Red.
Tem |
We're currently level 7 and pretty much one encounter from the end of book 2.
The PCs:
Yandil - Half-Elf Sorcerer 7 (Fey Bloodline)
Ulfie - Human Cleric 7 (Gorum)
Rogar - Dwarf Ranger 7 (TWF)
Ehelhim - Half-Elf Bard 5 / Dragon Disciple 2 (Silver)
Tanis - Human Fighter 4 / Rogue 2 (actually a spy but don't tell my players, they think he's a stand up guy... :) )
Yandil's Cohort Lucius - Half-Elf Fighter (Phalanx Soldier) 4 / Wizard (Diviner - Foresight) 1
There are no other "adventuring" characters but there are a number of NPCs which have found their way into various kingdom roles including Oleg, Kesten, Akiros, Loy and Lily.
Brian Bachman |
We're early in Book 2 and the party consists of:
Baroness Jaslene Medvedev, female human Sorcerer 4, fire elemetal bloodline
Grand Diplomat Lenard, male human paladin 4 of Erastil
Treasurer Kaliel, male human cleric 4 of Cayden Cailean
General Blozog, male dwarf fighter 4
Marshall Noname, female elf ranger 4
Councilor Helia, female dwarf druid 4 with tiger companion Deathstripe
Spymaster Dangle, male human rogue 4
No NPCs in the party yet, but Kesten Garess, Oleg and Svetlana, Jhod Kavken, the Old Beldame and Kundal have all become significant NPCs, with Kesten and Jhod filling the roles of Warden and High Priest respectively.
The group has been very cautious and methodical thusfar and have taken no casualties, although they've been close a few times. They had some bad luck with Economy rolls and kingdom events (4 bad ones and just one good one) in the first year, so their kingdom has grown slowly and is just reaching nine hexes, but they are gaining some momentum now.

Shameless Campaign Journal Plug Here! ----->A Bandit King Arises!
We're a very tongue-in-cheek, high-melodrama group, who's been together for going on 10 years now.
Current cast of miscreants:
Ganon Malfoy. Human Sorcerer (Infernal) 8. Recently came into ownership of Charm Monster
Artemis Gayle. Human Druid 8. Learning the joys of Wildshape.
Hestia. Dwarf Barbarian 8. Hulk smash best describes her.
Altrum Vicis & Hal. Half-Orc Oracle 1/Cleric 7. City planner and moral compass of the group. Hal is a shield on legs, essentially.
Rilani Astin. Human Cavalier (Cockatrice) 8. Charge & smush pretty sums up her combat abilities. Rides an Axebeak (Chocobo); as do the rest of the group.
Giles. Human Evoker 8. Just your typical megalomaniacal pyromaniac evil wizard, with a penchant for melding critters with other critters to make weird amalgam critters.
Ganon, Artemis, and Hal (the cohort) have been on the receiving end of perma-death at least once. Lots of reincarnation and silliness have ensued.
General Chaos |
Half way through Rivers Run Red, but haven't done the elven ruins, or trolls yet.
Lothar - Human Paladin 6 - Just and merciful and smite-y, as a paladin should be
Kyria - Aasimar Ranger 6 - Kicks ass and takes name. Party tank too.
Zakko - Halfling Rogue 6 - Partially reformed thief. Is also the treasurer, which everyone assumed was a bad idea, but let happen anyway.
Elohra - Half-elf Cleric of Iomedae 6 - Self-proclaimed vend-o-heal
Viraqk - Aasimar Cleric of Triumvirate* 1/Alchemist 5 - Tactical melee fighter
Domi - Human Sorcerer 6 (Though player has another character, Borghildr a bard, but she's currently sidelined)
*The Triumvirate comes from a short level 20 adventure to the Starstone my group played, in which all 3 characters failed to achieve godhood individually, but chose to successfully become a single entity to achieve godhood.

Just started book 2, and the party is as follows.
Jarendlon (NG Elf Druid [Wolf Shaman] 4): The main healer of the group, due to the lack of a cleric, Jarendlon is a worshiper of Erastil and comes from a small community of elven farmers. He has a pet Wolf as his animal companion.
Korgoth (CG Half-Orc Barbarian [Invulnerable Rager] 4): A former bandit turned good, Korgoth has a rule that he does not fight anything that will not attack him. He has an admiration for Gorum, and toes the line between CG and CN.
Leon (NG Human Summoner 4): The only human in the party and a young noble of sorts, Leon bonded early on in his youth with a strange frog fey creature that became his eidolon. He's always felt a certain connection with the fey as a result of this. His eidolon, Gribbit, is growing up to be a kind of giant frog beast. The party has nominated him to be Ruler of their kingdom, being 1. the only human and 2. the most charismatic.
Storn (LG Half-Orc Monk [Zen Archer] 4): The agile monk with a Zen Archer focus, Storn is... well, I don't have much. He's the only player to not give me a background so far. He, like Jarendlon, worships Erastil.
Tristan (CG Elf Ranger 4, Archery): Tristan is the stealthiest of the group and a good scout. His animal companion is to be a falcon and he plans to become the Spymaster. I have a rule that only one player per game can take Leadership, and it was agreed that Tristan could have it. He has also been very interested in forming a cadre of his own hirelings and has accrued 3 so far.
--Jacobi (LG Human Commoner 1): The first hireling that Tristan had, Jacobi handles the carrying of loot and other menial duties (setting up camp, cooking, etc.). He's very friendly and does not let nearby danger both him much, as his employer and friends have taken care of things thus far.
--Bronn (LN Human Fighter 1): The second hireling Tristan picked up was a mercenary named Bronn, hired to protect Jacobi while the others were investigating a nearby mine or cave or some such.
--Topper Red (NE Human Warrior 1): One of the only bandits left alive after the attack against the Stag Lord (the other being Falgrim Sneeg who was turned over to Kesten Garess), Tristan made Topper an offer. Work for him (under Bronn) to help protect Jacobi and the camp for a fair wage, or be executed for being a bandit. It actually was quite fortuitous that this was the one left alive. I made sure to keep a track on names of bandits as the battle was going on, and didn't even read Topper's backstory until after. Being a street poet that only turned to banditry because he was romanticizing it, I could see him easily switching sides to adventuring (also seeing it in a romantic light of sorts).
Kressle is still around as well and the party is considering putting her in the Royal Assassin spot, as she has proved useful in fighting the Bandit Lord and other things. The Levetons are none too happy about it though, and there is definitely tension between those three. Not sure what will happen to her yet, we shall see.
Herbo |
The (current) PC's:
Bhuvan "Tipu" Jai - Vudran Cleric of Irori - Bhuvan left his homeland to explore the great white north and see the end of the world in his personal quest for perfection. What he got was mugged, disrespected, treated like dirt and otherwise misused by the northern barbarians that had no use for his education and wisdom. He eventually fell in with a large half orc bandit (it was a stick-em-up friendship). He ended up falling quite far from the path and has had to sober up, stop wenching, highway robbery and pretty much learn how to be a propper cleric of Irori again.
Ohd "the Weak" - Half Orc Barbarian - Ohd grew up in an orc tribe where he was taunted and beaten for being a skinny runt (at 6'6" and 290lbs). He was originally sired by his orc father to make a super intelligent war leader for the tribe. What he got was a smart-mouthed runt that constantly undermined his authority with "ideas." He eventually survived enough frontal assaults on Numerian strongholds that he earned a battle name "the Weak." Shortly there-after he simply left to find a life that was his and his alone. Eventually he mugged and later befriended the strange exotic accented southern man "Tipu" and the two have traveled together ever since.
Zander of Nirmathas - Nirmathan Ranger - Growing up in the rugged forest realm of Nirmathas tempered young Zander into quite a prodigy. He would have been a shoe-in for a future Ranger Captain or perhaps even lead a few hamlets as a leader...if he didn't get so gummed up at the mouth when it came time to speak. Therefore he spent much of his time ranging on his own. One day he decided that he wanted to see if he could walk around the world. So he packed his few belongings and headed east. Eventually he came upon Ohd and Tipu in Numeria where they had fled a Brevian noble's guardsmen. They were lost and starving in the rugged wilderness. Zander quietly walked into their camp, cooked up a couple rabbits and shared them with the other two. He hasn't said much in the two years since, but he has been there every morning so far when it comes time to set out.
Halvoramips-Puggil-Krolment & Snarfarfalug - Gnome Summoner - "Hal" and "Snarf" joined the group just a little over 6 months ago. He hired them to help him slay a beast living in the Brevian wilderness..which turne dout to be a prize winning long-haired Ox owned by a minor Brevian noble. His constant companion Snarf is a bizarre and mildly upsetting creature that appears to be a cross between a bull mastiff, a chicken and a lizard. Quite friendly and relatively playful, it has proven time and time again that it is quite a dangerous creature when roused to anger. Since "Hal" became a wanted man he has just followed the others around trying to compose a fitting ballad or theme song that they can sing to intimidate their foes. He also has an absolute obsession with hats of all kinds (as they hide the curious sigil on his forehead).
Our group has befriended some of the published NPC's as well as some alternate characters we use for kingdom leadership positions, swap ins for when we have an extra player from time to time, or in the event of character boredom/death. This situation has allowed our adventuring group to swell its numbers beyond the four active adventurers to become something of a burgeoning paramilitary organization that has dedicated itself to the stewardship and protection of this new land. We are currently in module three (the first two have lasted 6 of our monthly 14 hour sessions).
Cristobal - Galtan Cavalier of the Cockatrice - He is a haughty and self involved man, but his natural charisma and absolute knack for dealing with other snobs has allowed himself to fill the role of ruler quite well in the kingdom. He is currently desiring to break our kingdom away from Rostland and Brevian influence through brokering an alliance with Pitax and/or Mivon.
Jacabo - Galtan Rogue - He is the man servant and some say personal assassin of Lord Cristobal. He is rarely seen more than a few feet away from Cristobal and says very little as his tongue was cut out by witches as a boy and used to cast a dark spell. The experience did not improve him. His manner of dress is that of a stylish Galtan fop, yet his posture and eyes betray the dangerous animal caged within.
Ganlan Provisk - Swordlord of Restov - He is the current emissary sent by Restov to make sure that the new barony does exactly what it is supposed to do. He is a stern, yet brilliant man. He handles politics as he does his sword. He and Poitr Orlovnia constantly vie for position as Grand Diplomat. Something that has allowed Cristobal to pursue alternatives to being a puppet ruler.
Piotr Orlovnia - Noble Emissary of House Orlovsky - Piotr is a corpulant man with greasy hair and a penchant for rare animal furs, skinny women and gaudy jewelry. Seeking to regain some of their house's lost glory with the Surtovas the Orlovsky family sent Piotr to keep an eye on Brevian interests and to counter any overt Rostlandic overtures. He is whip smart and possessed of a silver tongue. Additionally he has foiled three attempts on his life, once by a Daggermark assassin. So although he seems a fat wastrel he is more than meets the eye. His weakness for brothels has allowed Cristobal to sidetrack his interests and more easily play him off of Ganlan Provisk of Restov.
anyway...enough rambling by me...kingmaker rules.

In Book 1, about to tackle the Stag Lord's Keep. DMing a gestalt campaign (I know "boo hiss!" We all enjoy it a lot) using Epic Words, feel free to check it out; "adding a lot more soon"
http://www.epicwords.com/campaigns/889
The Party:
Perrindad Orlace: Human; Ftr3/Pld3 of Erastil, I want to say the current "leader" of the group but I'm not sure sometimes. Although a trusted Paladin sent to the Greenbelt his prowess in battle is still that of a novice (lol he rolls 1's a lot). This may be due to his strange weapon he fashioned himself to take the full use of his strength, the Zanbato. Quartermaster of the group.
Aramis Maleficus: Human; Ftr3/Rog3 An aspiring shadow assassin, the last of his clan Harrakeen, he travels the Greenbelt testing his blades against any who cross him. Our current Rogue who after wanting to play a samurai type character "katana and wakizashi" he now has become a ranged sniper. Might play with his feat selection to gear him more towards ranged. A new player to D&D/Pathfinder didn't want to penalize his feat selection considering this is his first time playing. Likes to torture captives for information, unfortunately he also takes glee in this torture. I warned him that the Paladin and Inquisitor are going to have a hard time working with him if this fact becomes known. That and I would move his alignment to LE from LN. Cartographer and chronicler of the group.
Alaran Niltaurwen & Shadow: Half-Elf; Sor(draconic)3/Sum3 Another new player to D&D/Pathfinder he aspires to become a Dragon Disciple and transform his eidolon Shadow into a dragon itself. Not knowing where his gift with the weave came from. He travels the land in search for his father (1/2 dragon Sor) to learn the origins of his powers and find a purpose in his life. LOVE the background he created so far, and I can't wait to incorporate it in. Animal Handler of the group.
Tower Human; Ftr3/Inq3 The defensive fort of the group. Tower trained with Perrin and has come out to help cultivate the Greenbelt. While Perrin is the "sword" Tower is the "shield." In battle he uses two shields, that when needed can link together to make a tower shield, to help cover his allies, or utilize a blinding flash to cover a retreat. Tower uses his vast knowledge to help the group understand what they are up against with the various creatures they encounter. I run this character as a way of helping out the n00bies, and providing some cover in case they get to over there heads. I expect Tower to be the first one to die.
Valandil Ancalime |
Because we are a small group we play Gestalt. We are currently 7th level and near the end of the 2nd module.
Regulars
Ruler/Avertov (LN halforc Cleric/Rogue of Erastil) -
Bastard noble. Surprisingly charismatic for a halforc, social rogue. Wise beyond his years, but clumsy and of only average intelligence.
Lord Marshall/Talbot (LG human Ranger/Paladin of Erastil) -
Avertov's foster brother, archer. He has no skill in planning, but is great with a bow (9 int, 18 dex).
Spymaster/Yergin (NG dwarf Druid/Rogue-Shadowdancer) -
Typical surly dwarf and the only member of the group with a negative chr mod.
Part-time players
Magister/Owyen (LG halfelf Monk/Wizard(illusionist)) -
More a monk than a wizard. His stunning fist has saved our bacon more than once.
none/Forgot the name (CG gnome Rogue/Sorcerer(fey)) -
has only played a few sessions in 7 levels.
xPC (now an npc)
Warden/Fedor (CG human Fighter/Barbarian)-
Player left to concentrate on school.

We're about halfway through Chapter 1 and the party falls out like this:
Mere - Female Gnomish Ranger. [Desna] Taking the archery path and planning on acquiring an elk animal companion to use as a mount. Looking at an archer prestige class.
Osric - Male Human Druid. [Erastil] Has a tiger as an animal companion. Gearing to become the 'Druid King' in Chapter 2. No plans to class out at this time.
Kartike - Male Aasimar Martial Artist. (From Tripod Machine's 'Adventuring Classes') [Iori] Light armor halberd fighter, planning on classing over to sorcerer in a few levels, and then maybe Arcane Knight.
Althais - Female Half-Elven Paladin. [Erastil] Gearing towards a Swordlord style combat form. Planning on running straight paladin.
Kalyani - NPC Female Shadow Assassin (Super Genius Games). Trailing the party, but hasn't actually met them yet. Here to discharge a debt to Althais' family held by her master.
Daviot |
My group consists of three PC's, who are currently most of the way through book 2—My players are ruthlessly thorough about sidequests, and thus far, have made peaceful allegiances with the fey, the kobolds, the hill giant, and the lizardfolk.
On top of that, my game has a tendency to flesh out and at least name minor NPC's, from impressed bandits-turned-ranger allies to shopkeepers, waitresses, kobolds, and so forth.
The party itself met in Restov several years before the game began, and have been close friends since.
Marcian 'Marc' Cornelius Faustus IV: CN Human Rogue[swashbuckler](planning on taking the Duelist PrC) Actually a bastard son of House Lebeda (who chose his colorful name himself), Marc is a cunning and shrewd, but pleasant swordsman and gentleman adventurer who fights in an unusual form of the Aldori style that uses a parrying dagger in the offhand. Marc was appointed the new Baron of the nation of Nelduin in the Greenbelt. He has romantic ties with Tala and enjoys hard liquor. Marc has black hair, brown eyes, and typically wears a chain shirt over leathers, and has an enchanted bearskin cloak. Marc's primary weapons are an heirloom Aldori sword that seems to slowly be gaining magical powers of its own accord, and an adamantine dagger, though he carries more varied weaponry as a backup.
Taladael 'Tala' of Restov: NG Elf Cavalier/Fighter/Rogue/Bard[archivist]. An amnesiac elven woman who has been the companion and servant to Marc (whom she considers her 'lord'), Tala is a woman of varied talents and an accomplished cavalryman on her noble (and surprisingly intelligent) steed Heskal. Tala prefers melee combat with a pair of exotic steel war fans, and while her past is still a mystery, her skills and demeanor point to a past life as a Calistrian courtesan...and probably an assassin. The current Tala is an empathic woman who accepted the post of Marshall, and has romantic ties with Marc. Tala has long golden hair and purple eyes, and typically wears a cold-weather surcoat over chain, but has a taste for fine clothing on her off-hours. Tala's favored weapons are a pair of war fans, one of which is the feybane weapon of an ancient Iobarian warlord known as First World's Ruin, and is frustrated when she can't close to melee with her enemies.
Tirael 'Nora' Nordlara Desnail: CG Elf Fighter/Wizard[evoker]/Eldritch Knight. A young (62) elven woman who grew up in an upper-class elven family who settled in Restov, Nora is both a both a decent swordswoman (preferring an Aldori sword) and a brilliant wizard, and the best archer in the group by default. Nora is witty, somewhat hotheaded, and rather humanlike in her behavior, deriding traditional elven snobbery. Nora is an amateur naturlist, accomplished alchemist and gifted bladesmith in her free time, and carries an arsenal of weapons and wands. She took the position of Magister, has short dark green hair, and icy blue eyes, and wears a leather winter coat over leather armor, along with her trademark, a 10' long brilliant red scarf with a Desnan butterfly emblem (giving her the nickname 'Red Nora of Restov' amongst duelists). Her favored weapons are a pair of Aldori swords (one silver and one cold iron), along with a mithral kukri, preferring to fight with a single sword and spell or sword and wand.

We have four PCs. We’re about 75% done with book 1:
Celebril: NG male elf ranger 2/fey blood sorcerer 1, 114, 6'1"/127, black hair, blue eyes.
Eluiseid: NG male half-elf bard 3, 20, 6'3"/200, black hair, green eyes.
Ildred (Lebeda) Batalova: NG male human nature oracle 3, 22, 6'1"/220, blond hair, grey eyes.
Lyyl “Spitfire” Ivana: NG female human fighter 2/Erastil cleric 1, 16, 5'6"/145, blond hair, blue eyes.
We’ve come across several NPCs that have great potential to be included in the future, mostly other trappers/hunters, but also some background characters/childhood friends that are slowly being brought into the picture.
