Functions looks great. Colors are a bit too strong for my taste though.
they are really easy to change
Also I'd recommend you to remove the building images as they don't fall under the Community Use Policy.
.... hmmm it says i can photo copy it, but your probably right. if anyone at paizo wants it off, please let me know, i'll change it... (you can email me or post)

True that the colors can be easily changed, it just was just the first thing that struck me when opening it. Otherwise it handles very well from what I tested.
It also says photo copying for personal use only, which a mediafire link is quite far from.

So I've been messing with this thing for a while now.
First impressions were - WOW - that's a lot of work and a lot to digest, and the color scheme was very loud and made it look busy. It is hard to find where I'm suppose to be typing. I tried unlocking it to change the color to something more neutral, but I can't change the color - not with the background, the highlighter or anything.
After a while I begin to think that I need an user's tutorial on it. There's just no telling sometimes where to type, or where to click; with no lines, cells, etc detailed, and mostly all one solid color - it's really hard to define what I'm suppose to be doing.
I can see that the first page has some autopopulated info on UNREST, ECO, LOY, STA. But where are these coming from? Since I couldn't change them, the next page is already set to have the -10 STA. I believe I figured out that I'm suppose to type the D20 die result on that page.....but the -10 STA is the only thing I can select - assuming it's taking that info from page one on that auto-populated spot. However, the typing of the D20 result isn't viewable until you've left the cell - I wasn't sure if it was allowing me to type or not.
The magic items page is all a big blue field. I can't tell where I'm suppose to type - no lines to define lists or anything. The city screen is pretty cool. Am I to keep track of the ECO, LOY, STA provided in each city seperatly? What's the other red field for that I can type in ?
The buildings page is great. Easy to look at in terms of color, and self-explanatory as to what to do. Good info. The events page was one big blue field too - but I figured that out and it serves a great purpose. Very well done. The city district page with the drag and drop icons of the buildings is a wonderful tool!
All in all - it looks like it's a great tool - with a lot of information, and obviously a lot of hard work and you should feel good about all you've done. I can see it being of great help. I'm not computer illiterate, so I really felt foolish trying to figure things out. I can't imagine what someone who isn't savvy w/ Excel or computers would feel. It's not easy to look at and not obvious as to what to do.
I wonder:
How hard would it be to alter a little of the building specs ?
(some have been changed by James Jacobs via errata - others I have altered a little to fit my needs).
How hard would it be to add new buildings/events - both of which I have added many new ones from either this board, of my own design, or from the recently released River Nations booklet.
How hard would it be to change a little of the text of the existing events.
Also; is the RULER already set up to allow its charisma mod to be applied to multiple kingdom stats once the hex count is high enough?

So I've been messing with this thing for a while now.
First thing, thank you for the feed back, I wanted more.

Ok, ok, i'll change the colors, it's kinda a habit to turn black any space without data, i'll fix that stuff.
After a while I begin to think that I need an user's tutorial on it. There's just no telling sometimes where to type, or where to click; with no lines, cells, etc detailed, and mostly all one solid color - it's really hard to define what I'm suppose to be doing.
I'll put some effort into doing the little bubbles so that you know what's going on.
I can see that the first page has some autopopulated info on UNREST, ECO, LOY, STA. But where are these coming from? Since I couldn't change them, the next page is already set to have the -10 STA. i made a lot of stuff drop down boxes, this is so it'll save the data from past months.

it'll change once you buy buildings that give magic items.

The events page was one big blue field too - but I figured that out and it serves a great purpose. Very well done. i make excessive use of the drop down box

oh yeah, the non-excel using person is boned
I wonder:
How hard would it be to alter a little of the building specs ?
(some have been changed by James Jacobs via errata - others I have altered a little to fit my needs).
i've made those changes myself, and to change them yourself: unhide the charts page and adjust what ever you wish
Edit: i put them in the new version i'm working on, it's not done yet, i'm hoping for some time tomorrow.
How hard would it be to add new buildings/events - both of which I have added many new ones from either this board, of my own design, or from the recently released River Nations booklet.
for the most part you just add more buildings in to the charts page, though they won't add into the selection (building page) part
How hard would it be to change a little of the text of the existing events.it's all in the hidden charts page
Also; is the RULER already set up to allow its charisma mod to be applied to multiple kingdom stats once the hex count is high enough?
yes and no, you have to re-select the drop boxes when you hit the right hex count (at 21 you can select from three different options, then at 80 it'll say all three)

I've made a bunch of changes, please let me know. i'm still working on more.
Hey Eric, it looks much nicer, and far more user friendly. Good job. I like the flowchart of the buildings showing which buildings have a synergy bonus from having them.
Two things I've noticed
1) The buildings tab - not sure what I'm doing wrong (if anything); but when I click on a building type, it only gives me a #REF error in the text box now - instead of the stats of the building.
2) On the cities page - are you able to copy the format of the capitol city and duplicate it so that you can track multiple cities?
3) I'm still a bit confused - where is the first page gathering the -16 ECO, -8 LOY, and -10 STA from??? Shouldn't these things be ZEROs as the baseline?
(Okay - I admit that was three things).
All in all, this by far the most complete and robust of all kingdom trackers. I look forward to using it - it will save a lot of time and paperwork for me that so far is how I've been managing it. So for that I profusely thank you!

A couple more things I noticed:
1) where do we place misc static bonuses to the kingdom's attributes?
For instance - building a city on the Stagg Lord's fort site gives a +1 to all three attributes. Also encounters/events such as:
things like finding Tig or helping Melianse
give permanent boosts to Loyalty and Stability respectively.
2) I filled in page 1 in accordance to my players kingdom. I went on to page 2 (PHASES) and entered 1 in the month, it selected the current UNREST (0), and I Keyed in the D20 result (14), and the box under STABILITY said "ENTER 12". This is true - regardless of what I enter in the D20 result. Also the DC, Result, Current BP, etc are all blank. Do these populate only after entering city info??? I don't know what their autopopulation is triggered by.

It's in the city tab, right next to the city name, and population you'll see a 3 spots put the modifier under the labels.

I'll work on the explanation in the program, you are supposed to replace the "Enter 12" with a 12. you well see the "Enter (than a number)" alot, in all cases this is the current stat to be entered into that field, i had hoped it was more explanatory than the drop down boxes. i'll have to work on it.
Robert Brambley |

OH! EUREKA! I think I am beginning to understand
My confusion was simply - "Why 12?" I mean, it just looked like a bizarre random request "ENTER 12".
So you're saying that 12 was the bonus to the Stability at that time, and that is why it was prompting me to "ENTER 12"???
A drop down (like the original) would be fine. I was just confused with "why 12???" If that is indeed the reason for that number.
So my question then is:
If it can be programmed to have a drop down to offer the actual Stability modifier in that cell, why doesn't it just autopopulate as a 12 - needing then only the D20 result as the only variable integer....???
I'm thinking all the Stability based modifiers on page one add up together to create one total - populating it there in that cell on page two - removing the need to do drop downs or enter or anything.....?

3) I'm still a bit confused - where is the first page gathering the -16 ECO, -8 LOY, and -10 STA from??? Shouldn't these things be ZEROs as the baseline?
From the penalties for having vacant positions I assume. There is no 'baseline' for a kingdom - the closest you get is by filling every position with a person with a 0 modifier in the appropriate attribute.

there are several problems with this, one, you won't be keeping track of how the kingdom performed month by month (which is one of my goals with this) anything that auto populates well change as you increase or decrease the modifiers. by putting them in it turns them into solid numbers instead of variables.

Yeah, what robert said, "use copy/paste", it would be excessive bloat to put the pictures on there 1000 times each so you didn't have to do that. by using copy/paste, you have exactly as many as you need.

Hey Eric, your project here continues to amaze me at how thorough it is.
A couple things I noticed - and it's probably because I'm doing something wrong....
1) I filled in the first page w/ the kingdom info, went to phases sheet, and keyed in the prompted Unrest, the D20 roll result, the promted stability and DC; The program stalled for a moment - gave an error: of a circular reference, and then displayed a bunch of blue arrows and flowchart lines. It did go away eventually.
2) I went on to Income Phase step 4; keyed in the D20 result (11), the prompted +17 to ECO, it populated a +3 to the check (though not sure where that +3 is coming from), keyed in the DC (21) and the result showed "FAILED" Whereas - DC should be 21 w/ a roll of 11 + 17 modifier should have been plenty to succeed.
3) Int he Kingdom Event phose, the box beneath CHECK shows nothing - and cannot be selected.
4) The first page and the end of the PHASAS page shows the Unrest as 25. I have no idea where that is coming from.
Aside from a few minor bugs (or simply unsure of what to do); I see this tool as being a must-have for all Kingmaker DMs!!!! You've done such great work, and I thank you for doing it.

as you claim more hexes and start cities you should have more spaces for cities to appear on the city tab, up to 21 cities.

Okay that now makes sense. As I said, for some reason page one (and the last box at the end of the phases tab) both show a 25 UNREST. However, when I first started keying in the phases tab (after having filled in all leaders etc on the Kingdom tab), the phases tab starting UNREST next to the month gave me a drop down prompt of ZERO. Which is correct.
So if it's basing it's result off of the erroneous 25 UNREST featured on KINGDOM phase, or the last cell on the PHASES tab, then that explained the "Fail" result, albeit a false-negative.
NOTE: if it matters, there is no co-ruler at this time entered.
3) Int he Kingdom Event phose, the box beneath CHECK shows nothing - and cannot be selected.
the check box is what your d20 roll, plus your stat minus your unrest.
Yellow Section (Event Phase)
[topic / given]
D100 / 44 (I entered)
Result / An event has occured (auto-populated)
D100 / 27 (I entered)
Result / Feud (auto-populated)
D20 / 14 (I entered)
Mod / Enter 11 (cell cannot be selected or changed)
Check / (cell shows light blue in color - cannot be selected or changed)
DC / 23
Result / Succeed (autopopulated)
4) The first page and the end of the PHASAS page shows the Unrest as 25. I have no idea where that is coming from.

No. On the PHASES tab, under BP Withdrawn, it states "Stealing is wrong" I never altered that cell. Unless the "withdrawals" are using some other cell to calculate that I am unaware of and have it filled in wrong somehow.
I assume however that the "Stealing is Wrong" cell is meant for me to plug in an amount of borrowed BP - because I did experiment with that - put a 2 in the field, and the UNREST at the end of the page did increase (from 25 to 28)

Okay - more on the UNREST errors.
I have learned that the Kingdom Phase UNREST entry is reading from the final cell on PHASES tab.
As I said earlier, the first time I entered anything on the PHASES tab, i put in month 1, and UNREST prompted me via drop down w/ a ZERO. The end cell filled as 25.
I just clicked on that UNREST month one drop down again, and this time it only offered 25. So I clicked on that, and it dropped the end cell to a 3. So month two, it allowed my starting unrest to a 3. Then I reclicked on the dropdown in month one, and the 25 changed to a 3. So I clicked on that, and it then changed the end cell to 20, and so when I reclicked on Month 2, it only allowed to select 20; this continues on and on, each time altering the last cell nonsensically - filling that integer into the cell on KINGDOM phase, and giving that number as the next selectable number on the unrest dropdown on PHASES tab - obviously a circular path error of some sort.

I tried to download this and it said it was removed. Was it because of you fixing the errors?

Hey Eric, one more thought/request. Perhaps somewhere on the Phases tab (Upkeep or Improvement) to allow the user to enter the amount of BP spent on Armies that turn - so that it factors into the equation.
Otherwise - we could just be instructed to make that BP as a modification added on the Event section of the Phase.

ok, here is the next phase LINK
you'll notice to stop a lot of the circular errors i had to switch back to the drop boxes in most cases. the biggest change is the inclusion of the hex map instead of the hex page.
I have one more thing i plan on adding in, but not tonight, hopefully sometime during next week. until then please playtest the hell out of this thing!!!!!
