Amazing potential with Pathfinder type changes.

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Leafing through the Pathfinder Bestiary, I noticed that they changed "giant" to a subtype, and all of the old giants are now "humanoids." Has anyone else realized that this means you can have a storm giant were-tyranosaurus?

You could as of 3.5. The lycanthrope template affected humanoids and giants.

Now, on the other hand, this does mean that giants are vulnerable to charm person, hold person and can be buffed/debuffed with enlarge/reduce person.

More importantly you could have a giant weresloth. All the scary of a werewolf movie and a old school zombie movie in one. :)

Liberty's Edge

In the second book of the Drow War Trilogy(A 3.x adventure path designed to take players from 1-30, the first two books in particular were really good) the characters are trying to find a location hidden out in an icy wasteland. They come to a huge crevice in the ice, but see a ledge down below them that looks like it has a cave of some sort.

Not being afraid to go out of their way to check something new out, the obvious plan they came up with was to tie a rope around the bard's waist and lower him down to check it out.

Unfortunately for him, a frost giant weremammoth clan lived there, and one of their kin was standing guard just inside the cave mouth, in hybrid form and complete with a gargantuan great axe.

A poor initiative roll and absurd crit later the rest of the party who were laying on the edge looking down just see a huge blade swipe out and split the bard neatly in half before huge furred hands grabbed him and pulled the pieces inside. The rest of the group decided they had better come up with a new plan while the bard's player yelled at them to hurry up since he thought he was being eaten.

Giant weres. Good times.
