Liberty's Edge

Are there any other monsters that are "officially" in Golarion than those expressly published by Paizo or the OGL monsters?

For example, officially, is it assumed that creatures from the Tome of Horrors are there? Or any other sources?

Until a monster shows up in an adventure or Golarion sourcebook, it's not officially in Golarion. This certainly doesn't mean you can't put monsters that haven't been mentioned as being in Golarion into your home game—we have no way to police that, and even if we did, there's no way we would ever WANT to police that.

So until a monster is officially placed in a Golarion product, it's up to the GM whether or not that monster can appear in Golarion.

And honestly, the reverse is true as well. If you hate a monster and you see it show up in print, go ahead and replace it with a more appropriate monster.

How's about the list of UNofficial, official monsters in Golarion:
Mind Flayer,
Githyanki,
Beholder,
Kopru, ....

I should like to imagine a Golarion which didn't include the Owlephant, the Asswere, the Duckbunny, and some of the other delightfully poor judgements in the Tome of Horrors, if it's all the same to you.

That's up to you as the GM to make that call. If you want them in Golarion, cool. If you don't, that's also cool.

One thing that you'll never see us say in print is something like "There are NO warforged on Golarion," or even something like "There are NO five-eyed spider-humanoid flying aberrations on Golarion."

Golarion is meant to be all inclusive, after all. If you like a monster, it should be able to work in your Golarion game.

What some freelancers WILL see behind the scenes now and then, though, is feedback on adventures where we might say something like, "No, dude; you can't use an asswere in this adventure."

Except, of course, that there really are NO Warforged in Golarion ;)

Well, don't feel bad -- no one's perfect ;)

This sounds like the start of series of adventure proposal auto-reject criteria posts, along the lines of what SKR is doing for RPGSS2010 on its board.

"Adventure Proposal Auto-Reject #178: No Assweres."
