True. But he was busy wasn't he?

Right, meaning he won't be paying attention to the spells Durkon is casting. Now if Durkon starts praying for spells with the evil descriptor, then the ol' God of Thunder might notice something's up.

Or when he learns of it after he is free.

What fiend did Z summon? I admit I can't recognize it (it look like Chuul to me...).

Hmmm, would it be one of aquatic yuggoloths?

Yes. In 1e terminology, its a piscodaemon. In 3e, perhaps its called a piscoloth?

Thank you - now that you named it I found pictures without problem.

Thor granted him the spells this morning, so they're in his head till its time to pray.

he worships a pantheon of collected deities, so switching over to Hel (the goddess of death) in oots may be easier than otherwise planned.

I can just imagine the automated system responses.

"I'm sorry, you have made an invalid selection. Please try again."

I can see it more of him switching over to Hel then Thor inquiring to why it happened.

V vs Imp, probably part I

Spoiler:
1:0 for V

Grand Lodge

He's not very good at this.

To be fair, he's only an imp. V's Int score is probably in the 20s. Trying to out-logic the wizard is probably a failed gambit from the start. He's better off pushing emotional buttons.

Also, V is already suspicious of the imp so Bluff DCs get penalties as untrustworthy.

Well, V better get back into the game soon, or it is game over for the party. The power balance has shifted pretty decisively to the other side.

Second or third day I can't enter order of the stick page, like if the whole site was down...

His site was DDoSed. Updates are on his Twitter feed:

https://twitter.com/RichBurlew

Looks like the attack itself is over, but the servers got mangled. Hopefully it will be back up soon.

There's a facebook site that relayed a tweet. Site was hit with a DDoS and they're doing repairs.

Quoted: Rich Burlew: "Latest: DDoS is over, but it snarled up the server while it was being auto-updated and now it's offline. Repairs are commencing."

-_-

Was a culprit/reason ever discovered/given?

Yeah, I mean... why would OotS ever have a DDoS?

I can only speculate. While some hackers attack sites because they disagree with the politics/actions/beliefs/whatever of associated entities, some seem to attack sites just for the thrill that they feel in causing harm.

The latter are known, in the common vernacular, as "douchebags."

They are in a pyramid of mega illusions and there are mysterious, non-explody runes on the walls. My gut reaction is, "That's not really them..."

Even for a guy with a poor memory, things like a guy with a big magic sword trying to dismember you atop an undead dragon tend to stick with you.

I am a guy with poor memory, and I have no recollection of a guy with a big magic sword trying to dismember me atop an undead dragon.

Conclusion: If I don't remember it happening to me, Xykon won't either!

Agreed. The first words out of Belkar's mouth should be "I roll to disbelieve!"

Will save. Wisdom is not the Belkar's strong side.

As scary as that sounds ...

It would work ... Tarquin would have no idea how much trouble he would be in.

Rich would have to do some fancy exposition for me to accept Roy siding with those new party members.

Anyone remember the big ugly caged monster in the employ of that lich? Maybe we get to finally see the resolution of that plot line...

That would actually be fairly awesome. Andostre is right in that the trouble would be getting Roy to agree with it. Even if it made sense--that they end up having the same goal and the Linear Guild can get in both their way--Roy especially in the mood he's in right now would be against it regardless of how much pragmatic sense it made.

Although the point about the possibility of illusions with all those runes--especially remembering they're in Girard's domain--makes sense.

Liberty's Edge

Alternately : dimensional doubles of Xykon (here Nokyx) and Redcloak (Koalcder). They are the Good twins.

The lack of goatees makes this theory questionable at best.

Actually, since goatees are the sign of Evil, the lack of goatees on Nokyx strengthens my claim ;-P

A thrilling conclusion to the comic!

Spoiler:
"Does everyone have to make jokes? Can't you just DIE?!"

Runes?:
Ok... What the hell was triggered? What's in those runes? Even Belkar was affected after death...

My suspicion:
The whole scene was illusion implanted in party's mind by the runes using their own memories.

Spoiler:
Belkar isn't dead, that was part of the illusion. You can see he's still up with the mind-control eyes in the last panel.

I like how Redcloak was subtly out of character, since the order doesn't know him that well.

The whole batlle was an illusion. Belkar isn't dead, the illusion just made them think he was.

Yeah, I think so as well.
