no, he saw V use the epic spell on the black dragon, so he knows V killed 'em all
Which does not preclude him from being promoted in the near future.
He is the one who initially set up the deal where V could make the bargain with the IFCC. Now he knows just how far reaching the effects of that temptation were and is likely eligible for promotion.
"Where am I"
"The Pit of Despair." *coughs* *clears throat* Don't even think about trying to escape. The chains are far too thick.
Looks like V is back in the game!!
Well... maybe not.

I can't imagine much will happen here other than the Linear Guild
** spoiler omitted **
Furthermore, if you are on your home plane when you cast this spell, nongood extraplanar creatures within the area are instantly banished back to their home planes. Creatures so banished cannot return for at least 24 hours. This effect takes place regardless of whether the creatures hear the holy word. The banishment effect allows a Will save (at a -4 penalty) to negate.
So we need to see if Sabine and the Imp familiar make their Will saves. ETA: Whoops, imp is on other side of the gate, so just Sabine.
Note that the spell says any nongood extraplanar creatures, NOT summoned creatures, so it doesn't matter if they're not summoned.
Also, if the mummies are low level enough (I can't remember how you'd determine that), the spell will destroy them. While the guild itself is probably same or equal to Durkon's level, I doubt the summoned undead are.
And for the rest of them, if they're "just" deafened, that will reduce their initiative, allowing more of the OOTS to get the drop on them; reduce their Listen checks, allowing Haley to sneak up on them; and it will force Nale and Zzdtri to make a 20% spell failure check when casting any spell with verbal components.
That may not be a huge deal, but it may be just enough of a debuff to give the OOTS the upper hand.

I could be reading too much into this, but in that last panel, it looks like...

Does Sabine truly love Nale?
I read somewhere (don't remember where) that what we actually love in another person is the reflection of ourselves we see in their eyes.

That's why I never make eye contact. That and it keeps me from being glammered.

That's probalby just semantics for a succubus.

It's that she's a succubus.
Making the mark think you love them is in the job description. Actually loving them is not.
In the way that abusers "love" their victims, perhaps. Not in the way the victims think they do.

Some succubi may actually show the kind of love showed by long-term abused victim. I can imagine submissive succubus. Maybe not Sabine, however.
