Perception 1d20+5
Using her low-light vision, Nuveril squints into the shadowy interior of the ruined building, looking for any signs of life.
You can make out the back wall, your eyes penetrating further than the others, even Grall whose darkvision extends only 60'. But from here at least you see no signs of life.
Is everyone back on board more or less? Assume Alex and Tanner will be time poor for a while.
Linah Jamil'Kaid
Linah stands back with her hand resting on the hilt of her scimitar. The young cleric shows no signs of fear or worry but rather radiates an air of tranquility. Her calm eyes slowly sweeps over the nearby area.
Abit late, but can i assist Nuveril's perception check? Might be abit of a metagaming since i know that it's no use to assist Grall's check.
If assist: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 (add any penalties for dim light or similar)
Edit: oh, never mind :)
Sajan Krama Sumna
Someone put magic light on Sajan's shuriken? he asks, holding out a shuriken and hoping to use it as a concealable light source.
Sajan attempts to climb the mill, motioning for everyone else to wait for a moment. If at all possible, he will use rope to make the climb easier...
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 Ki point used.
Sajan Krama Sumna
I'm the bait? You misunderstand... I intend to get the drop on them while you go in the front door... Your MY bait ;). Stealth check once i'm up top (if they are inside I should have cover relative to them).
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Stealth

Except that the roof's mostly rotted away and you're carrying a glowing weapon. You're lighting up the inside of the structure for the rest of us, though. ;) Considering they're flying creatures, they might well be nested up in the rafters; alternatively, they may be down in the sub-basement if nocturnal. (We didn't make the arcana or history check to know that, but Undrella said they'd normally be hunting now so it's a reasonable assumption.)

I'm a bit iffy with assisting perception checks. Generally you'd have to convince me how its possible for you to actually assist. Here is a good example of where you'd be unlikely to, Nuveril was specifically using her low-light to see further than everyone else. Of course with the roll it doesn't matter :)
DM Dan E
Grall moves up to the entrance, just close enough to be able to examine the room with his darkvision. There are plenty of places to hide. Warped crates and boxes, or at least parts of them, fill the room. He senses nothing, although the scent of blood is stronger.
Linah touches Sajan's shuriken and it begins to shine with a soft blue light. Sajan quickly stuffs it into his pocket while the rest of you look away to preserve your night vision.
Sajan moves to the 1d2 ⇒ 2 right hand side of the doorway before examining the wall. Even using only the moonlight to see it looks like an easy ten feet climb to the top with plenty of toe and handholds in the crumbling bricks but the whole thing looks stable enough. I think its fair to say you decide you don't need the rope.
The rest of you stay alert, weapons out and ready to fight.
Sajan sticks his head over the top perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 and seeing no danger pulls himself up. Its only then that a solid shape detaches itself from the blackness where the top of the wall meets the roof railings and with a flap of wings rushes him in a blur of antler and hooves.

Notes
- Map is up. Sorry it isn't great. Black lines are showing the entrance. The orange lines are showing the width of the wall. Anyone standing in a square mostly on the open side of the orange line (hoping that makes sense) will need to make an acrobatics check not to fall into the building. That is noone at the moment.
- Sajan and the peryton are up ten feet.
The creature howls like a wolf, ripping at the off-balance Sajan with razor sharp antlers and powerful hooves. Up close he can see its face is like a wolf as well. Its eyes are a mad red and slavour drips from its muzzle. Sajan takes several bleeding wounds.
gore 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23 hit
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
hoof 1 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 hit
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
hoof 2 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Well the bad news is that Nuveril was right. The good news is that Sajan actually ended up too close for it to charge in the surprise round. Grall and Sajan had a chance to spot it and the others with penalties but it was a nat 20 on its stealth roll.

Khalid launches a firebolt at the beast and moves to side of the building to begin climbing...
Attack:1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 4 = 2 (firing into melee) vs. Touch AC
Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
And promptly burns Sajan...one of these days the dice rolling will get better...I hope.

Well the bad news is that Nuveril was right.
What? That's great news for her; she loves being right! Oh, wait, you meant for Sajan. ;) In the land of the 7-Wisdomed men, the 10-Wisdomed halfling is queen.
Nuveril rushes over to near where Sajan and the creature are battling atop the wall. "Grab hold of it and fall!" she urges him. "Pull it down with you!" Move to I 17; ready an attack if the peryton comes in range 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Bite my 14 Wisdom, midget ;). Besides 8 damage isn't a whole lot considering... Is the thing actually flying or has it landed to attack me?

Its flapping its wings to assist its balance but at this point its feet are on the top of the wall.

Grall puts away his weapon moves to K20 and climbs to the other side of the creature. I can move 5' past it if needed to not draw the AOO and end up on the other side of it. I am not enraged yet.
climb 1d20+6
Have you got enough move while stowing the halberd? Move action to stow leaves you with 40'. You hit the accelerated climb DC which lets you climb the 10' with 20' of the move. I can't see how you get round to K20. You can have a slightly precarious footing on top of the wall at J18 (the square is mostly open space) which will involve acrobatics checks to do things or drop the halberd and double move where you want.

Assume you move to H-19. You can end up half-way up with a DC 10 climb check, to the top accelerated climbing with a 15.
Sajan Krama Sumna
Wincing a little from his wounds but clearly game for the fight, Sajan drops the shuriken at his feet, grabs his attacker by the neck and begins to put it into a lock...
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 CMB
DM Dan E
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Khalid flings his fire bolt at the peryton but the shot is rushed and it explodes into the bricks just below Sajan's feet leaving a round black mark and a shower of cinders.
Arjun moves into a better throwing position, gripping a bomb.
Grall puts away his halberd and circles the beast on the ground before reaching up with long arms to pull himself to the top of the wall. Please clarify position as above please.
Sajan wisely flips the illuminating shuriken on to the top of the wall generating a light source which creates normal light in the 20' radius surrounding his current square before managing to get his huge hands around the peryton's neck just before it reaches in for another goring with its antlers. Sajan and the peryton have the grappled condition.
Linah repositions and incants a quick blessing.
Nuveril waits with her hammer ready.
Just need to confirm Grall's positioning and we are on to round 2.

I may not be reading the map correctly but it looks like to me that I can move 20' to K20 and then climb 20' vertical for 10' movement? Being behind Sajan will block me from attacking so I probably wouldn't do that, I wanted to move around so I can attack.
If not I will climb as far as I can get this round and complete my movement next round.| DM Dan E |

The peryton twists and struggles in Sajan's iron grip. The beast manages to put its antlers in line with the monk's throat and he is forced to take an arm off to protect his face. The creature lurches free! With a flurry of its wings the creature propels itself up and over Sajan's head.
escape grapple 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 success!
fly up 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 vs DC20 pass
Its movement is not over but Sajan gets an AOO as it leaves its square.
Sajan Krama Sumna
Oh no you don't... Sajan mutters as he pulls the beast back, continuing to wrestle it, and then slamming a fist into its face.
Grapple as an AOO.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 Grapple
Assuming that manages to grapple it again? Still have my round 2 action to take.
Sajan Krama Sumna
Sajan maintains his grapple, attempting to further debilitate the beast by pinning it.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
I just remembered we were told we'd need magic to harm it, so i'm amending my action from 'damage' to 'pin'.
Edited to account for bless. Please add +2 if Grall ends up flanking.

Khalid finishes his climb, and strikes at the beast (the peryton, not Sajan) with Tempest...
Climb:1d20 + 0
Attack:1d20 + 6 + 1 (bless)
Damage:1d6 + 4
Khalid moves beside Sajan and stabs Tempest into the struggling peryton bringing a roar of pain and a gout of blackish blood.
DC10 Acrobatics check please to maintain your footing your on a wobbly bit on I,20 as per the note.
DM Dan E
Khalid easily maintains his footing, moving Tempest in line for another swing.
Then a black streak hurtles down out of the sky. Antlers lowered the second peryton flies forward directly at Sajan trying to drive him straight of the roof with its sheer mass! But some sixth sense warns Sajan of danger and without apparent conscious thought he ducks at the last moment, avoiding the collision.
Bull rush 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 15 (higher ground, charge)
Bah that would have been glorious. New creature is in H,20 five feet of the ground.
Arjun is up.
DM Dan E
Arjuns bolt flies true into the grappled perytons flank but does not appear to penetrate its thick hide. DR
Grall delays in the hope Sajan can pin it.
And pin it Sajan tries to do. With a mighty heave he drives the creature down beneath him using all of his weight and leverage to try and flip it over onto its back. But it will not go easily and manages to twist just enough to land a hoof into the monks kidney stunning him just for a moment but that is enough for the creature to right itself and break free once again.
Undeterred Grall smashes the escaped beast in the side with a powerful blow with the halberd.
Linah and Nuveril are up.
Linah Jamil'Kaid
Round 2, initiative 16 Bless round 2 of 30
Let's see if we can't get one of them down for Nuveril... :)
Linah steps forward and unleashed a wave of warm energy to heal Sajan's wounds.
Move action to G17
Standard action to channel positive energy (exluding the two demons ofc): 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
Nuveril
New creature is in H,20 five feet of the ground.
She ought to be able to reach that if she jumps, right?
Seeing the new attacker hurtling by Sajan toward the ground, Nuveril dashes to the entrance and leaps as high off the ground as she can to bring her hammer to bear on the creature. Acrobatics 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Lousy Acrobatics roll. Still good enough to jump 2 feet off the ground; she's 2'11" plus the length of her arm and the hammer.
