A good Rogue / Monk build?

Advice

Liberty's Edge

I was thinking of building one for a campaign we are running. What would a good level 12 progression look like? I am unsure how the flurry progresses when combined with other classes and don't know what a good level split would be

Well FoB will ALWAYS function as it is listed on the table regardless of what your BAB is so taking more than 1-2 levels in any class splashing with a majority monk build is a pretty bad idea.

I am gonna throw together a 12 level build really fast for you, look for a major edit to this post in a moment...

Edit: Ok so I hit a bit of a social snag and I didn't finish, I will get back to helping you in a little bit though.

A massive intimidating half-orc monk that makes the best of his surroundings and takes advantage of weakness wherever he sees it. Catch off guard, shattering defense, and the extra movement he it is unlikely that he WON'T catch an enemy flanking for extra sneak attack damage, and when he DOES catch you with a sneak attack you WILL piss your pants in fear. Go ahead and try to run away he knows your tricks and can stop you in your tracks. Anything is a weapon to this guy, his fists, that sword, a table, it doesn't matter and he knows how to use them.

I disagree about Flurry of Blows. I think a multiclassed Monk would take the "flurry of blows attack bonus" and add his regular BAB to each number. In other words, since a 4th level Monk has a FoB Attack Bonus of +2/+2 and an 8th level Rogue has a BAB of +6 a Monk 4/Rogue 8 could flurry at +8/+8/+3.

I'm not saying that is (or isn't) a good class mix, just that you could do it. Actually, a Monk 8/Rogue 4 would attack at +9/+9/+4/+4, and that seems better to me. Toss in an extra attack from a ki point and that's potentially a lot of sneak attack damage (10d6 in this case)

I mean, I could be wrong, but I'd assume it works this way since otherwise multiclass monks would bite the wax tadpole. Now, there was a rule about flurry of blows BAB not combining with regular BAB in 3e, but I thought that was long gone.

Devilkiller has it. You take your Monk level as your BAB when flurrying + BAB from other classes = flurry BAB. Then apply a -2 penalty for flurry attacks (as if using TWF). When not flurrying it's your Monk BAB + Other classes BAB = character BAB.

This is specifically addressed in the FAQ, which you can find here. The monk adds the BAB from other sources normally, just as you suggest, DK.
