Hello,
I want to DM a PFS scenario next month, and I want to run a horror scenario. could someone give me some recommendations? I'm currently looking at #47 The Darkest Vengeance, # 49 Among the Dead, and #7 Among the Living.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
I haven't run or played #47 but the feedback I've gotten on it is that it can be quite deadly (in a not fun) way for low levels. Depending on audience you might want to avoid on that alone.
I've played #7 and run #49, and I say if you have time to do both, go that route! If you only have time to run one I'd personally pick #7.

You might also want to look at #35 Voice in the void. It has a great H.P.Lovecraft feel to it (in my opinion).

I noticed #7 is from season 0. Are the rules compatible with the current version of Pathfinder?

I will definitely consider this Eric; thanks for the tip! :)

If you'll study the adventure and look at the thread reklated to it, I'll throw in a plug for my own Blood at Dralkard Manor. It has a lot of horror inspiration, and you can play up the haunted house angle.
It's retired so I can't run it as a PFS game, but I might run it for fun some other time Steven. Why do they retire scenarios?

Yes, all season 0 are rules compatible and require very little in the way of adjustment in order to 'just run.' The main thing to keep in mind with season 0 vs anything else is possible prestige points in season 0 are pretty much always 1 per mod where as all season 1+ are 2 per mod. However, to properly setup #49 you really should play #7 first.

They are going to retire modules over time mostly to streamline into the PFRPG rules and season 1+ PA model.

The Voice in the Void most certainly has a Lovecraftian feel to it. Unfortunately it's the follow-up to another great adventure, The Mists of Mwangi, which means it may lose a little of its oomph if nobody has played the prequel.

I'd recommend #6 Black Waters as a good horror scenario.
This scenario, curiously is my group's overall favorite (not by all, but it got the most votes when I asked them what their favorite was). If you play up the creepiness factor, this one can be downright scary. It also has easily the most awesome closure of all the modules from a story perspective.
It's a little easy at times, but it certainly fits the horror bill.

Strange. I played #35 before #5 and didn't feel that way at all :)
I loved #35 but felt that #5 was just meh, but there are several other reasons that could have been the case that aren't really the mods fault.
I kinda feel like you should do #7/#49 in order but #5/#35 could go either way and still be fine.

If you do wind up playing Black Waters, make sure you read through the entirety of the Black Waters GM Thread. There are some really good ideas to help pump up the creepiness factor. This is important only because the module itself could be fairly straightforward and uninteresting if not run right, but by really adding elements and focusing on what makes the module unique, it has a really nice tone to it.

Why do they retire scenarios?
Over time, all season 0 scenarios will either be converted to PFRPG rules or retired. A lot goes into the decision to do one over the other, including ease of conversion, how well an adventure from the "playtest season" fits with the continuing vision of PFS in scope, tone, and format, internal resources, and customer feedback. In the end, we don't have the time or manpower to convert all 28 season 0 scenarios, so we have to choose which will be kept around and which have run their course. Expect to see more announcements soon regarding additional waves of retirements and conversion.
