Twilight Knife-what constitutes an "attack"?

Rules Questions

Have to admit I'm abit of a convert on this spell, mainly due to spammability. If you have time to prebuff, you could walk into a fight with a whole cloud of these flying around you-nice for an Eldritch Knight with a high BAB. And at higher levels it will outclass SM3 due to higher to-hit and damage. With quicken spell and Spell perfection, could get ugly as a fight progresses. Not to mention it's a free "auto-flanker".

"You create a darkly sinister floating knife that attacks the
same creature as you each round. If you choose not to
attack a creature, or you make an attack that affects multiple
opponents, the knife makes no attack during that round."

Would a spell be considered an attack? Would it matter if the spell does damage? What if it requires a touch attack/ranged touch attack?

I think anything that would end invisibility constitutes an attack.

Actually, it would be an attack, or a spell that targets an enemy creature, or includes an enemy creature in the area. So all sorts of non-damaging spells like Grease, Glitterdust, Hold Person, etc, would end Invisibility.
