is it true that people should wear more hats?

I've read more than one posts where Paizo staff (Lisa?) has commented that Paizo is one of the largest rpg companies (second?) after Wizards of the Coast. How is the figure derived? I always thought White Wolf and Fantasy Flight Press were much larger than Paizo.

I'm right in the middle of moving to Redmond. Given my previous record of how long I live in one place, the EARLIEST I'll be able to move is in 2018.

Is Redmond as exciting as it is in Shadowrun?

Redmond Barrens: Dark slums only active because of the Shiawase Atomics Nuclear Plant and the Hollywood Correctional Facility, as well as a few other generic shops. The Halloweeners gang resides there.

Will you join the Halloweeners or will you, Wez, Erik and SKR do a run on the Shiawase Plant with Cosmo as your Decker running Matrix overwatch?

One of the best answers so far on this thread(I've read the whole thing too)

Since first getting into RPGs when i was around 10ish(29 now) I have learned an awful lot just from them. I learned what abbreviations such as "Ie, Ex, and Etc" meant from the AD&D DMG and my vocabulary exploded with new words from Vampire the Masquerade.

What are some similar things you have learned from RPGs that are applicable to the rest of your life??

What CR is the Jabberwock?

Roughly how many CR 20+ critters will be in Bestiary 2?

(My group is level 15 and I'm looking toward the future.)

Would you consider adding a level/DC/current adventure appropriate skill chart page to each AP like this.

I believe this would greatly reward players that get ranks in Knowledge AND allow the GM and easy and rule compliant way to share all the great back story in an AP with the players.

I'm not James, but here are my thoughts:

White Wolf has shrunk (nearly went bankrupt?) and is now owned by CCP. I don't really know what their future is like. I'm guessing they used to be bigger than Paizo is now, but aren't anymore.

FFG is hard to judge, their presence in the RPG industry has only recently grown larger (mostly with the license for Warhammer products) but I'm betting they are the largest non-hasbro american board game company. So are you looking at total company or impact in the RPG world? My guess is that their RPG department is smaller than Paizo's, but the overall company is larger.

A drunken commoner makes a pass at the following iconics. How do they deal with him?

Amiri
Kyra
Lini
Merisiel
Seelah
Seoni

How would they react if the drunken commoner is a woman?

My Monthly group games Friday night & all day saturday. My cousin (one of the players) likes to cook. She also likes doing theme weekends and we're thinking about doing a Medieval theme for our next weekend. Any suggestions for meals/recipes?

Pugwampis... Were they your idea?

What's your thoughts on a Pugwampi Witch (misfortune hex) multiclassed with cleric of Lamashtu (madness & chaos domains)? :)

Which region of Golarion would be the most difficult to write about? Read that Alkenstar and the Mana Wastes may be hard to do because of the lack of magic in the area and the inclusion of technologies as rifles.

Alkenstar and Mana Wastes are not difficult to write about at all. They have some REALLY cool elements that are pretty neat.

Numeria would be tough, because it requires designing a whole new category of treasure: technological items from the future. But I've already mostly done that for "Unspeakable Futures" so maybe it wouldn't be that bad...

We're doing our own thing with "Asia" in Golarion. Tian Xia.

Eberron's "magic tech" setting would be best served on another planet, I suspect, where it can do its own thing. Or maybe in ancient Azlant or something like that.

A combination of insider knowledge, info from distributors, knowledge of how the game industry works, how these companies present themselves at conventions (and, for example, how big their booth is at Gen Con and whether they're launching any product at Gen Con), and the fact that those of us in the industry tend to know everyone else and talk to each other.

Aside from COUNTLESS vocabulary increasing words...

1) What a flow chart is.

2) How bad passive voice is and why you should avoid using it.

3) Probability curves.

4) The biggest thing, of course, is that what I learned from RPGs is what got me my job!

The jabberwock is CR 23. There's probably a half dozen (not counting dragons) CR 21+ monsters in Bestiary 2. Not a lot, but I can think of four off the top of my head...

We do that for some things in APs already, as the urge strikes us. But not all the time, since I think that overuse of those types of charts has a reverse effect and makes the GM feel like he's not allowed to give out information if the PCs can't roll right. There's not much worse than an awesome adventure background that only the GM ever gets to learn about.

HA! Awesome question.

Amiri: BARBARIAN RAGE dead or frightened commoner.

Kyra: Polite rebuff.

Lini: BACKFIRE, commoner weirded out and frightened.

Merisiel: STAB, unless they're cute, in which case advantage will be taken.

Seelah: Flattered, perhaps, and then gentle refusal.

Seoni: She probably wouldn't notice.

Fiendish creature template. SMITE.

Eric Clingenpeel wrote:
Pugwampis... Were they your idea?

Yup; pugwampis are from my homebrew world. They got transformed into gremlins for Golarion (in my homebrew they were more like flightless humanoid bats, a lot like Isle of Dread's phanatons, but living in arctic regions). I was originally going to write "Howl of the Carrion King" and had done a fair amount of the initial design work for the pugwampis as gremlins that cause bad luck, and then when it became apparent I wouldn't have time to actually write the adventure, Erik took over and hit a home run with making it a great adventure. Erik and I basically combined our powers of evil to make them into what they are today.
