Ya you did, big time. I was tired this morning so slept an extra hour and got to work a bit late...

I had a great sleep last night feel all energized. I'm sending my positive energy your way Hmm!
Sirettis
|
It's very rainy outside, but promises of high temperatures and my birthday present arriving 3 weeks early keep my spirits up. I hope you feel better, Hmm!
Mr. Peppers
|
I feel a bit more energized now that I've ate breakfast and had some tea and got to read up on some PbP fun!
We are supposed to get a bit of snow from that rain, hopefully not, the robins have just arrived and I'm betting they'd rather not see snow either. The geese are back and loud as hell and golden eyes are back in force too.
I had my roll20 game last night, we're near the end of Shattered Star, spent the whole night watching dominated party members killing each other as I made saves and retreated. Not much a mindchemist can do when fighting underwater :( The swashbuckler paladin won vs the straight Barbarian, but only because the barb was fatigued. I'm kinda the clean up res crew that comes in and recovers the bodies for resurrection duty.

Man Peppers that sounds harsh! I guess that's what happens when you get close to the end-game of an AP, though.
We had a bit of snow this morning, nothing too heavy, but it's really wet snow, so traffic was a bit of a mess as people were concerned about icy conditions. The rest of the week is supposed to be a bit nicer, which is nice, but I'm just really looking forward to the temp staying above freezing for a while. Seems like the weather can't quite make up its mind.

Wow... It looks like I can't preorder the Starfinder hardcover without paying $42 USD in shipping, nearly the price of the book itself. Argh.. I'm going to hope that the digital format comes out not long after the print.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
That stinks! And you're not even overseas. Have you been charged similar amounts for shipping on other Paizo purchases, or have you mainly stuck to buying digital or from stores in your area?
GM Red
|
I usually pay about $15 for shipping from Paizo. The reason for it being this expensive is because once it's over a certain weight limit, they can only ship via Priority mail, which is easily $35-$40+! I'll sometimes wait until Amazon Canada carries the product, but I want Starfinder NOW! ;)
Mr. Peppers
|
Sounds like you'll either need to pony up the moolah or strap on your jet pack and go pick it up yourself.
Sirettis

Know any friends in Northern New York, Red? Road trip!
GM Red
|
I used to work a job that had a second office in Rochester... I otherwise don't know anyone there. =\
Since I'm mostly a PbP GM anyway, I guess it makes more sense to wait for the PDF. Too tempting though.
| GM Hmm |
Red, add your voice to the Starfinder Operational thread, requesting preorders of the PDF!
I'm hoping that more of the online and international GMs post there, actually.
Otherwise, is there a Canadian gaming store locally that you can pre-order through? There may not be shipping issues for them.
Hmm
PS Still sick. I cannot kick this stupid bug.
GM Red
|
Hmm, I'm not sure. Sugi? Know any stores that might do this?
Rest up Hmm, get off the forums!

Added some notes for Group A's activities. Sirettis and Uesugi (or anyone else who's been reading along and feels like chipping in), feel free to add any other notes you think might be important.
Mr. Peppers
|
I'll have to read them. I've been trying to keep up on our group but have not added in notes for anything Mr Peppers hasn't been involved in. Mr Peppers is having a very hard time not taking constant notes at these places. He is not someone that thrives in the world of espionage.

Red:
Maybe check out Hairy Tarantula and call them. They are up by Yonge and Steeles though so not necessarily the closest to you. Also 401 Games talk to them.
GM Red
|
No dice with 401 Games (hah), I'll call Tarantula.
From reading that thread Hmm linked, it seems like the PDF usually releases not too long after the hard copy. Perhaps I should just be patient...
| GM Hmm |
So... Still somewhat sick. Tomorrow is Wednesday, and there is this Con going Thursday-Sunday out here called Anime Detour.
I might be able to move you guys forward while there, but I might also be off for a bit. I am going to declare a hiatus but give myself the option of posting if I have time. Does this sound fair to everyone?
If I can I'll try to move you a little forward now that my rain is starting to focus again.
Hmm

If I can I'll try to move you a little forward now that my rain is starting to focus again.
Focused rain... is that like a thunderstorm or more like a gutter system on a house? :)
I'm fine with whatever works for you. We are but mere players here!
| GM Hmm |
My, that was an amusing and appropriate typo.

Pros of the day.
- Gone home earlier, for a job interview. Result pending.
- Good weather.
- Saw a mother duck and ten ducklings cross the road, cars stopped to let them pass.
(STAMP: Awwww)
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Hahaha! Classic D! Such a Sith lord...
Good luck with the job interview! I'm in the throes of trying to find a new job as well. Definitely not my favorite activity, but it's kinda necessary at this point.
Mr. Peppers
|
Heh funny you mention ducks and ducklings.. I just watched a pair of black ducks getting down and dirty outside my office window in the lake. I must say, she's on the short end... shoved underwater with him on top for about 10s of play time then he swam away while she took a quick bath and preen. (Yes I was using binos and no that doesn't make me a peeping Tom)
And my morning was interesting too, stopped on the way in when I came across a van that had just lost it into a ditch smashing up its front end. Got to wait on the police with the guy for a bit, he seemed fine though just a bit embarrassed and shaken up somewhat.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Glad the guy was okay, Peppers.
My cousin is an ornithologist and I'm sure she would totally agree with you that your bird-watching was totally fine. Haha!
Mr. Peppers
|
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Watch out, ornithologists are crazy bastards! Ask him if he's ever seen the rare and elusive red headed double breasted mattress thrasher. A good bird for everyone to check off their life list.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Haha! Yeah, I'm well aware that she's kinda nuts, as is her husband, but they're also super awesome. She spent a few years doing field research in Jamaica for her PhD.
Mr. Peppers
|
A she ornithologist! Plenty of those around too I guess, I just seem to know all the 'he' bird nuts I guess. I did a bit of bird work in the past but not really anymore. Bird are nice and all but you've gotta be up pretty early to deal with birds, plants and water are easier on the sleep schedule.
| GM Hmm |
I am still alive, though out of it. I only spent a few hours at work before going home, sick. I cannot get this cold to leave. I'm hoping that by Thursday I will be with it enough to go to the convention and maybe even move you guys forward.
Thanks for your patience. Hugs and such (but only virtual ones) because I am a snot monster.
Hmm
Mr. Peppers

Sounds like the flu my boss had a few weeks ago. Massive head and chest cold, lasts around a week.
Sirettis
|
No worries, GM. Get better!
Mr. Peppers

8:15 and not a single good morning post? I'm slacking. Dreary Spring day. Rain and fog and mud. Ick.
Making my first batch of smoked fish this weekend, primarily togue from our icefishing adventures. Best way to eat oily fish... smoker food.
GM Red
|
I love me some smoked salmon and cream cheese on a cracker. With a sprig of dill.
It's pretty dreary here too, rainy and windy. Hopefully, the sun will peek out later today.
Mr. Peppers
|
Hot or cold smoked? My stuff is hot smoked. I'm not a huge fan of the raw cold smoked texture.
Mine gets a brown sugar/molasses brine and cracked black peppercorns. Real great in a salad cold or straight out of the smoker hot!
GM Red
|
I think it's cold smoked. It's the long thin pink sheets you normally find in the frozen section of a grocery store. I take it you don't like sashimi much either in that case?
Mr. Peppers
|
Ya that would be cold smoked, the raw texture is cold smoked. I'm not a huge sushi guy, not that there's a lot of access to it right where I am. I'm a big fan of the rolls but I guess they aren't real sushi. I've had sashimi I believe, its the raw fish laid on top of rice? Its not bad. I'll eat the raw textured smoked salmon but its not my preferred choice I guess.
Its funny because I'm in one of the best places possible to get fresh seafood right off a boat... lobster, scallops, clams, urchins, crab, salmon.
GM Red
|
Sashimi is just the raw fish alone with basically nothing else. It's typically dipped in soy sauce and wasabi. Tasty, relatively healthy if you don't consume it too often, low calorie.
On an unrelated note, my Paladin hit level 3 and I have no idea what feat to give him.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Weapon Focus is always a good option for martial characters. Gives you better ATT (duh), counters the penalty from Power Attack, and opens up several feat options down the line. Dazzling Display comes to mind as having potential for a martial with decent Charisma.
Sirettis
|
My Skald is going to go the intimidate route with Intimidating Stare as her rage power, then eventually stacking Dazzling Display on top.
She's not as strong as she claims to be, but don't tell her that!
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
D, you'll practically be swimming in sushi! Which is kind of a gross image when you think about it... hahaha!
Sir D. Arthraven
|
*Gestures with hand in front of Gallix's face*
That is not what you will think about :P
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
*Momentary blank stare*
"I wonder how far I could punt a goblin's head?"
Uesugi Hideyoshi
|
You will soon Uesugi walk the path of intimidation can't wait until lvl 6!!
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Oh sounds exciting! Things are gonna take a bit of a lull feat-wise until level 8 for me. That's when I'll be able to get the next feat in my style tree. And oh, the shenanigans we'll have then!
In the mean time, I won't be hurting too much for other improvements now I've picked up a new combat maneuver. Enemies: get ready to lose your weapons!
Mr. Peppers
|
Aww I missed lots of good talk this afternoon being out of the office.
Mort, assuming he ever gets past level 1... is going down the intimidate line, I need to see when he can get dazzling display, or the slayer version for it, it may not be until level 4 but I don't remember.
As far as a feat choice for a pally there's a ton of options depending on what he does. Wep focus, power attack, extra lay on hands, umm the one that lets your lay on hands heal an extra d6 when there are no conditions to be cured is nice. Toughness, umm... endless options!
GAllix: You should have totally taken sunder! No one uses sunder in normal games (people aren't happy when you destroy loot and all...) but in PFS there'd be basically no penalty for it!
