APG Only Setting?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Anyone worked with the new classes enough to envision a setting (even a subsetting of Golarion) that uses only the new classes in the Advanced Players Guide? I think there is enough there to cover most of the options needed but it would be quite a different setting.

Well... The mystic niche is filled pretty well with Alchemists, Oracles, Witches and Summoners, but melee and stealth/adventurer niches are completely unused. The only non-caster class is Cavalier. It's... I'm going to have to say, it wouldn't work.

That being said, a game where everyone -every PLAYER uses APG classes would work, just fine.

Now would that just be the new 6 in the APG or the new 6 and the varients of the previous 11, if it's the latter it really is not a problem, the only problem would be deciding what character to make as a player.

Grand Lodge

mmmm this sounds interesting! Could merit some tinkering for the fun of it :)

Sovereign Court

We've been talking a bit about the implications of the APG's new core classes on the Dark Golden Age over at bySwarm. The Oracle and Alchemist (and the Skirmisher and Warrior of the Holy Light options for rangers and paladins) make a lot of sense for the extended history of the setting. Witches and Summoners go well with the more recent changes in the setting's history.

So short answer - sorta. Long answer - check out our site and the Collapse event.
