I recently watched a cartoon series about a bodyguard who used a spear as a double weapon, I saw rules in 3.5 which could support this use but I haven't seen any in Pathfinder. The bodyguard's spear was also completely metal and had a rope attached to it so she could throw it and climb the rope. Is there anything like this in Pathfinder?

The standard rules do not support this, but there may be something in the adventurer's armoury.
Standard long spears are not well built for this. The shaft is light and smooth for making reach attacks. If you strike with the haft if would be an improvised weapon.
If you take a standard long spear and shod it like a quarter staff. You would lose the reach property, and the range increment would drop, but striking with the haft would do decent damage.

It is certainly reasonable. Create a new weapon that acts as a double weapon - spear on one end, staff on the other - normal dual-wielding penalties apply.
