We're at 36.2 weeks and they estimate his weight to be 9 lb 4 oz, give or take 1/2 lb to 1 lb. So, either way, he's already over 8 lbs, with a few more weeks to go.

Every time I mention this my wife just whimpers a bit. Not sure why.... :)

Now that is one healthy baby boy! I'm hoping he comes out smoothly with minimal discomfort to mother. I also hope he loves winter and snow as much as I do!!!!
When the time comes, offer your hand and tell her to just squeeze if it hurts. ;-)

That's just cruel, Moff. My wife bent my wedding ring. While it was still on my finger!

My partner sweet-talked the airline into changing the flight at no charge so we would not get stuck at the airport. Yay for another day in warmth! And if the flight gets cancelled yet again, oh well...

Ummm.....yeah....

Just make sure not to let her grab all of your fingers at once, just a couple. That way you don't end up with broken fingers. :)

feeling kinda queasy still :(

spoilered for pseudo grossness:

Spoiler:
So today was our orientation to the cadaver lab. I was not as well prepared as I thought. I didn't faint, or even close, but I've felt sick to my stomach ever since. And we're going to be in there pretty much every week from now on. :(

Don't worry, you'll get used to it and be like Agent Scully any day!

Just pretend you're Dexter or the Swedish Chef hacking up a serial troll. :)

Saturday it was 65 degrees plus. Today? Negative 8. We were supposed to get all this snow, too. Did we? Maybe a half inch.

Negative 8 is cold. "Feels like" is even colder. ** spoiler omitted **

Good god, man. Where the hell do you live??!
Colorado Springs.
I would explode into pieces if I moved out there- my body CANNOT handle such extreme changes in temperature over a short period of time.

I love it here. I think we have about as many sunny days a year here as San Diego, but it can get brisk.

I just wish the job market was better.

lol. Thanks, Ashe and Amby. And, Amby, those are some seriously disturbing mental images. Just saying. :)

They say that everyone gets used to it by the end of the semester. I'm sure it will be fine. I just wish I could convince my stomach of that now.

Which is why my wife is glad Jude was born 4 and a half weeks early.:) Speaking of which he had his 4 month checkup this morning and is 14 lbs 4.5ozs and 25 1/4 inches long.
Keep on growin' Jude!!!
There are pics on FB if you want to see. ;)

Well, the freezing rain cancelled tonight's game. Some people will only travel to certain places. I was asked if my home could be used, but I knew Mindy would freak on short notice. Second - only 2 out of 7 of us do not smoke and I don't think they'd be too crazy about going outdoors frequently as I won't allow smoking in my house.

Third - which I didn't mention - there's an unwritten agreement that I will not host any form of game here at home until we have certain rooms repainted, the entire 1st floor w/ the carpet removed and laid down with Pergo styled wood laminate, and the basement sealed with parts of it finished, a half-bath built in, and some place to sequester the cats' litter boxes to diminish their smell.

Did I ever mention that my least aptitude is mechanics? Who do you think fixes things around the house? Not me. :P

Gives me another week to work on this new PC. FYI Jess, I'm taking him in a little different direction than yours, but I did manage to get some inspiration as a base template. I also have to think in mind of the tactic styles of the other players to make him work effectively as a part of the team. I definitely won't be much of a damage dealer, but definitely the support role to soften up & distract the enemies so that the heavy hitters can come in and thawack at 'em.

Anyway, we had a nice day yesterday. We went to the Dali museum, which I highly recommend, although admission is a bit expensive. We also went back to the coast, watched the sun set, etc.

I can't wait to get back down there myself soon. I would not want to live there, but I do like to visit.

I am glad to hear you are having a good time.

Winter is a strange Lady. You hate to see her leave, but you love to watch her go.... actually, no. We love to see her leave.

I'd never read Northanger Abbey before. I really, really, really don't care for Pride and Prejudice. Love the story. Never met a movie of it I didn't at least kind of like. But the book rambled so badly I finally had to resort to audiobook to finish it. But I decided to give Miss Austen another chance and this one I can't seem to put down. It's really good, and full of biting wit. :)

Yeah, Northanger Abbey is a lot of fun, a very good sendup of the Gothic Romance.

Pride and Prejudice gets really boring about a quarter of the way in. Try Pride and Prejudice and Zombies instead, funnily enough throwing in the hungry dead and ninjas livens up the book greatly.

Ok I just finished watching Battlestar Galacta the entire series. I need tv suggestions. I need to know what I need to see.

Wow, that is over 4 kg. My daughter Abigail was born at 36 weeks and was only 2.5kg ... and even so it didn't look (or sound) like a picnic to squeeze her out.

I'm enjoying Dexter, and The Office at the moment. Star Gate Universe seems ok.

First season is short and the second is due this July, but seriously check out The Walking Dead if you haven't already.

I'd also recommend watching HBO's Rome. The entire series is only two seasons.

Watched the walking Dead, actually have the entire comic series up to current with that one. Rome I may just check out.

Doesn't matter.

I kind of like Being Human, the BBC version at least. I have not seen the American version on SyFy yet.

I enjoy Merlin, but it is kind light-hearted and not exactly mature, just as a warning.

This is kind of old, but I did enjoy Queer as Folk, if you haven't seen it.

I am interested in A Game of Thrones on HBO, but then I enjoyed the first book of the Song of Fire and Ice series.

I second the Rome rec. Watching Shigurui: Death Frenzy. DAYYUM.

Sounds to me like you need to take some time and watch Star Wars -- finally.

We just finished and enjoyed Doctor Who the third season. Blink has to be one of the creepiest episodes of anything I've seen.
We also enjoyed Legend of the Seeker -- a little campy but fun.
If you haven't seen Red Dwarf -- you better get moving on it.
We've also enjoyed Full Metal Alchemist.

I agree with Farscape as well. (However, give it at least a season to get into it. It took a little while to get going.)

M-hmm.

Not sure what that means...

I always thought that it was ironic when you have this incredibly sad and depressing episode where this guy changes his daughter into some creature that ends up getting killed to put it out of its misery -- and then the closing credits have this super happy Japanese song that's all upbeat and "la la la".

Well, now the snow has finally started coming down. We'll see if it ends up as bad as forecasted.

I voted for meanings 1 and 3. In my linguistic communities, it wasn't used sarcastically.
