Welcome to the club.

Soon it'll be the bed sheets. The curtains. The color of your walls. Your things relocated to the garage or the basement. And heavens forbid if you have previously shared your residence with an extended period of time with a previous significant other. It'll be ground for revamping said domicile to prepare it to be sell-ready for the market so you can relocate to your next home that the both of you acquire - together.

Wait until she decides she wants to "change" you. That's when the fun REALLY starts. ;)

I love the whole, "When did you get so violent?".... uhm..... she married a damn semi-pro fighter! When do you think I got so violent!?

The wife and I did not fully enjoy marriage until we moved from the house I had before getting married.

Save yourself the trouble, sell the house and move... it's better that way. :/

Awesome! That happened to me, too, but they were using my credit card to draw cash from the Inmate Cash system within the LA County jail! We stopped the card before any significant charges were made, but we were told that the LA County police might not be able to do anything about the specific criminal...you know, the one they already had in jail. I guess there's no challenge in that or something.

That is right up there with the county refusing to prosecute a detainee for violating a restraining order on the jails monitored phones. How lazy can they get?

Spoiler:
A few years back there was a State Trooper here who was fired when it turns out that he when he saw through the window that the convenience store he stopped at was being robbed, decided that he would go to the next one down the road to get his coffee. O.o

Yea I just got off the phone with my bank and started a claim. $200 is a lot of money to me right now since I don't have a job, hopefully I can get it back...

Oh....this wouldn't be the first time I've gone through this. While this house is only 8 years old, there's still some things need to be done to bring it up to snuff to make it be competitive in this neighborhood. There's been a number of turn-overs due to the state of the housing-bust economy after 2006 -- especially when there's a couple of empty HUD homes sitting that can be garnered at a decent price.

Some major hurdles will be to remove all the carpet on the 1st floor and lay down Pergo-styled wood laminate, spruce up the kitchen, seal the basement and possibily throw in a half-bath and rec-room, and install a small back patio.

Just need that job to bring in the income to advance the process.

After following the "story" for several days, I got curious. After doing a few Google searches and reading (and re-reading) the few of his posts off-site, I think I've figured out what his original point was...and also why it's so darned hard to understand him.

Those folks who referenced that old Star Trek episode obviously got it, first, but I'm not sure if they fully grasped how accurate their comment was.

It's pretty clear to me that that guy writes with an internal monologue going all the time. When he explains something, he uses references that make perfect sense to him, but only occasionally will he stop to explain or expand on that reference. As such, there are times when the reader gets a glimpse of what he's talking about, and others where we are left on our own to figure out what the reference means...and hopefully thorugh that how it makes sense in context.

I also figured out what the heck his problem with Paizo's name was. He spells it out a bit more clearly on the Necromancer games forum.

The guy's obviously incredibly intelligent...he also happens to be completely off his rocker.

Anyway...just had to share.

EDIT: The "story" is linked, for those who didn't see that. I would say more, but I don't want to invoke the guy's screen name. He uses it on every forum he's in.

You can facebook the explanation if you want.

Don't even joke about that! My players will be able to get cohorts in another session or so!

::sobs brokenly::

My PC just got his animal companion back last night and the Ranger is looking for another animal companion. So without cohorts our party is now 9 including a horse and a Mountain Lion.
7 PCs, including a druid, a ranger, a paladin and a summoner, all with another creature to control. And that's before anyone can take leadership!

I can't wait to get Leadership, but my cohort and followers will have duties other than following me around as canon fodder.

The owner of the my FLGS posted a link to this on his FB page. I think I might read it and figured I would pass it along in case anyone else is interested...

LotR Rewritten From a Mordor Perspective

Note: the link is a connection to a short article/blurb about it with a link to a downloadable translation from the Russian...

Quote:

"It's been said that history is written by the winners but Laura Miller writes in Salon about a counterexample as she reviews a new version of Lord of the Rings. The Last Ring-bearer was published to acclaim in Russia by Kirill Yeskov, a paleontologist whose job is reconstructing long-extinct organisms and their way of life. Yeskov performs essentially the same feat in his book. The Last Ring-bearer is set during and after the end of the War of the Ring and told from the perspective of the losers. In Yeskov's retelling, available in translation as a free download, the wizard Gandalf is a war-monger intent on crushing the scientific and technological initiative of Mordor and its southern allies because science 'destroys the harmony of the world and dries up the souls of men' and Aragorn is depicted by Yeskov as a ruthless Machiavellian schemer who is ultimately the puppet of his wife, the elf Arwen. Sauron's citadel Barad-dur is, by contrast, described as 'that amazing city of alchemists and poets, mechanics and astronomers, philosophers and physicians, the heart of the only civilization in Middle-earth to bet on rational knowledge and bravely pitch its barely adolescent technology against ancient magic.'"
