That sounds very nice. Particular kind of boxty involved?

It comes in varieties? This was the first time I'd had it. Mine had veggies and chicken with it. Was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten.

We've recently gone to a system by which the girls can earn chips (poker chips) for good behavior. They have specific chores they have to do, and if they do them without having to be reminded they get a chip. They can also get bonus chips for exceptionally good behavior.

Bad behavior results in a loss of chips from their current holdings.

They then get to cash in the chips for time on the computer (playing Wizard 101), time on the Wii, or TV time. Each chip represents 15 minutes.

They always have toys, drawing and reading available, but if they want to do any of the above three activities, they have to buy the time with their chips.

So far, it's worked out pretty well. They usually don't earn more than about 90 minutes of time each week and they seem to do just fine with that. It also teaches them to budget without having to use actual money.

That has to be the most brilliant thing I have ever heard.

Wow. Thanks, Allen. I wish I could take full credit for it, but my wife and I had to work together to come up with the system. Have I mentioned that I have the most awesome wife in the world? Check out the 'five things to do as PotUS' thread.

Taken completely out of context. YES, animal rape was mentioned. NO, he was not making a joke of it. YES, he was making fun of you. All further posts were referencing the first one in the sequence.

I really can't judge this one fully, since I was not there from the thread's inception, and posts were deleted, but I think that the main problem here is that you're taking things WAY too seriously. You were, after all, the one who turned a reasonably civil thread into a flamewar.

The sad thing is, I have a very similar political stance to the one you have. You're one of the people making our viewpoint look bad. Stop.

That's all I'm going to say. Not discussing this further.

I will need to hunt down the recipe for exact details but it was a boxty with salmon and cream cheese/dill sauce. There were some onions, I think. It has been years since I have made it so I can't exactly recall. But I used to make it with scotch eggs on the side.

Gun Laws? As long as you are legally allowed to own one, then own one. Not sure about travling with them though...since each state is different
Travelling with guns caused a lot of drama up here in NY not too long ago. I would be very careful if you are carrying firearms between states.
How's that work? Was there some sort of checkpoint set up? I've driven between New York and Vermont, and New York and Pennsylvania with a gun in the car, and had zero problem.

Well, I can tell you that they've(the cops) set up something in front of my apartment building. Once every few weeks, they do regular pull overs searching for guns and drugs. Drives my wife nuts because the angle of the flashing lights keeps her up at night.
