I think I remember seeing something about that before I left. Scary.
Eleven pages were posted in my absence.On my end, my candidate squeaked back unto the bench. Yay!
The latest problem student came in asking about how to work the copier. I said I didn't know and if she couldn't figure out from the directions posted she could walk down the hall (30 feet roughly) to the IT department and they would help her. She gave my boss a dirty look (Like how dare bookstore employees not help me) and walked down there.
We are buddies with the IT guys and when they came down here for more coffee they told us that this chick went off saying we should be trained in on that and we were unhelpful blahblahblah.
They told her we don't work for St. Mary's and we are technically a B&N, and it isn't our job to know how to work anything in the student work area. You'd think she would get that but noooooo, she just cares that she had to travel extra 60ft in order to get help.
After she was walked threw the steps all she could say was "That's it?"
Yeah that is it. I bet you feel stupid for throwing a fuss when it was 3 steps long and written on the wall above the copier.
....So how is this my problem?

I remember something similar at my college (more than) a few years back. Eventually they just moved the copier closer to our version of the I.T. guys' desk.

No work today. Of course my DVR with several Hammer Horror flicks still recorded gave up the ghost today. I called in for help since it would not even turn on. Talked to a tech rep and asked a simple question. He for some odd reason could not answer until I told him I also worked for the company. Then it was "oh well they are all backed up today." and asked me to do stupid crap that I advise customers never to do because it doesn't help a damned thing. I am so going to have a talk with my boss tomorrow. Because if we want good customer service, this is not it. I can now understand more when people call in and get pissed with us.
