happy anniversary Solnes and Moorluck, enjoy your day away from the boards. Oh and Moorluck don't do anything I wouldn't do, but if you do take plenty pictures. Remember pics or it didn't happen ;P

Just watched this weeks new scooby doo. Yes they are making new ones on cartoon network. No I do not watch regularly. My kids are too old to use that as an excuse and my youngest niece is not here. So anyway they had two episodes I recorded.

One with Kiss. Very funny. Paul Stanly played up the stereotype of the money hungry rock star very well.

The second was just a vampire stealing artwork episode. It was set up in a museum of Oddities. In the background of one of the hallways was a group of statues. They were all from the Cthulhu Mythos. Up to and including a statue barely visible of Cthulhu himself. I had to rewind it and take a second look.

Did you know they did/are going to have a crossover with the Batman: The Brave And The Bold? You know, like those specials they did back in the seventies? The ones that I watched on that channel with retro cartoons all the time?

Note to self: Watch this show at some point, for nostalgia if nothing else.

I don't know why people are so shocked when they find out a popular musician/performer is actually good at something. It's why I so rarely discuss music with other people, you walk away thinking the other person is either an idiot or one of the few smart people on the planet. It's why I avoid politics as well.

for whoever posted the Ke$ha or however you spell it, I have not heard of her(thank the maker for rock stations). in blah blah she sounds like mc chris from aqua teen hunger force and zach and miri make a porno fame. Moorluck you might like this.

After a bit of googling, it's a scam. You know, if anyone had any doubt.

(I admit it, for a moment I thought Mairk really did inherit millions from Pavarotti's estate.)

Hey, I might have been a dumb kid with no taste but I still enjoyed those specials. (Also, The Brave And The Bold is great in a Silver Age way. Scooby Doo is enjoyable for the same reason. Two great tastes that, in a bizarre hammy way, taste great together.

Well, for one thing I wasn't shocked so much as presently surprised. Most of her radio play crap is just that. It's bubble gum pop music, for which I have no taste. The video linked shows a side of her I had not been exposed to, and the fact that I appreciate it makes me an idiot?

Not an idiot, just the fact that the music industry thinks Image is more important than Talent.

Hell, Nashville's built off that marketing process. It takes a supreme effort of will to convince a country music producer to let you sing your own songs. And if you go outside the Nashville production (like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash & the Dixie Chicks), you're no longer a "country artist".

oh no, not at all. I'm not talking about anyone specific, and certainly noone on this board. I'm referring more to general everyday situations with respect to conversing about music. It's hard to find someone who is willing to admit that something that comes on the radio is simply not something that they are into and distressingly easy to come upon people who will skin you for not only listening to something they don't like, but for not listening to something they do.

Well, obviously anyone who doesn't listen to Judas Priest has no musical taste what-so-ever. Otherwise, you're probably right.

AWRIGHT folks...after a long day of taking my members to the local IHOP and slipping into a food coma at my desk, I'm off. I don't think I have to go to the second job tonight(how the hell did I pull THAT off?) and I am off Friday, so this week is slowly turning out even better than I imagined and means I have to work hard to make this upcoming Darklight Sisterhood game truly special.

Here's hoping everyone has a WONDERFUL day. Especially our celebrating married peoples.

I've always considered Lady Gaga to be one of the more talented and musically educated pop stars out there. One thing about her antics is there is no mistaking that they are calculated to shock and confuse people. Never for a second do I think she's really that shallow (as opposed to, say, Britney Spears). I always get the feeling that she is this jaded but brilliant musician who said "These pop stars are producing crap and making millions. I could do that" and she did.

I love these. Apparently you and Pavarotti were really close. So close, in fact, that Pavarotti only had your email address with which to communicate. Also, that an English, educated attorney has such broken and poor English in an official correspondence is really kind of funny. Lastly, it's nice of him to leave you such a nice round number of American Dollars from his English estate.

What I hate about these is that they still work. We regularly get people coming in (at least one a quarter) trying to do one of these scams -- yes even the Nigerian one. It's usually older people -- people who cannot conceive that someone would send them an email trying to deceive them.

The one that still works the best is the eBay/Craig's list one -- where you sell something on eBay to a buyer and they send you a check only the check is for a lot more than you were expecting. You contact them and let them know and they tell you to go ahead and cash the check, keep the money for the item and send them a cashier's check for the remainder along with the item.
