Has anyone created a definitive list of the prestige classes allowed for play in the PFS, and the sourcebooks in which they're found?
The list of various classes and other elements allowed in Pathfinder Society play can be found in the Guide to Organized Play, if that helps :)

In some cases this is "everything in this chapter" or the like, which doesn't tell me any names of prestige classes or even if there are any in the book.
If it helps there is a consolidated list of prestige classes here. You will have to cross index against the PFS guide, but it is a start.

In Chapter 13 of the Guide, when a Prestige Class is allowed from source material it will be under the heading "Prestige Class." So you only need look for those words after each material listing. :-)
Please remember that only the list in Chapter 13 is the official list of what's legal for play.

As I noted above, sometimes a book will have something in it that is not explicitly listed, because an entire section will simply garner "This is legal." For example, on p. 33 of the current guide, the Seekers of Secrets book entry states:
"Everything in this book is legal for play (and considered part of the core assumption) with one note: ioun stones use method 1 for resonance and never use method 2. Additionally, only normal ioun stones have resonance—flawed ioun stones never do."
Since I don't own that book yet, I don't know if it has any interesting feats, prestige classes, etc. that I might want to use while building my Pathfinder Society character. (Thanks to the hotlinked indices posted above, I now have that information.) Thus the guide, while helpful as a reference, has some holes if you don't already know what you're looking for!
Anyway, it appears that Pathfinder is really short on prestige classes in general, which is fine. Means I can stick to the basics!

Unfortunately, the general rule for PFS characters is that if you do not own the source material, for example the Seekers of Secrets book, then you cannot use anything from it for your character. I don't like it, but this is the strictest interpretation of how the Society works. You either own, and bring to the game, the physical copy of any book you are using material from or printouts from a pdf with your email address watermarked on it. Sure, you may get lucky and play at a table where one of the other players has the book or the GM has the book and it can be confirmed that what your character has is legal, but if not then you won't be able to play that character.

That doesn't bother me; if there's a book that has material that I like, I'll pick it up. But I have no idea if I want to pick up a book unless I can find out if it will have utility! Almost like a weird catch-22 -- I don't know if a book has anything I'll want to use unless I buy it, but I generally only buy a book if I know it has things that I want to use . . .
Anyway, not a big problem, since the hotlinks above give much more info.
