Since we are just beginning our first battle, I thought it would be a good time to add some default combat actions to my profile. There will obviously be times that I won't be able to post for a while, so if I go MIA during a battle, you can go right ahead and control my character using that as a guideline. That way maybe encounters can move a little bit faster.

I agree with the very good DMing so far - both regarding posts and regarding the building of the site.
However, I do have an idea for shortening things up which we had in one of my previous PBPs - Every one of us could roll 10 initiative rolls and post them so that instead of waiting for everyone to post and roll, the action order could be posted and people could post faster instead of waiting for everyone to roll. If this works, we can also post saving throws but obviously that's not such a big difference time-wise.

I am completely fine with proposing initiative rolls ahead of time. Why don't we start with 5 to begin with. That should last you guys for some time.

Initiative Rolls:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
By the way, I think the DM back then chose one of the rolls on random each time he had to (so each player won't know exactly in which encounter he'll act faster\slower)

In case it wasn't obvious, I'm quite happy with my first PBP experience! DM DK is doing an excellent job, as is everyone else!
Seeing as I am quite new to this, I don't really have anything too insightful to contribute at this time. :)
I do have a question to ask though. Are all combat rounds going to be run like the 1st round? I mean, is each round going to have us declaring our actions in a spoiler, "blind" to what the other players are doing ahead of us in the initiative? Just curious is all.
Cheers

Yes, the idea is it helps me to spot your action for the round and the spoiler should include what round you are calling..

As this is my first PBP I just want to be clear on the combat aspect of things.
a. when I am doing attack roles do I have to add the bonuses for outside benefits such as bless? What if those benefits were cast on the round i did my attack and i did not add them does the Dm?
b. Should we mention benefits to AC for things like mobility and that when we are moving or does the DM always check for benefits like that?
Just curious thanks.

Yes so far DM Genie has not been nice to you! The monsters are rolling well so far...
You don't say! ;)
This must be some sort of record. Having your character killed in the 2nd round of the 1st combat in your 1st PBP experience!
Looks like a TPK may be in the making as well! o_O
Nobody can accuse you of care bear DMing. ;)
Maybe I should have stayed away from posting this weekend. Then DM DK could have played Eadric and done the sensible thing and run at the 1st sign of... dirt?! :)
Now... hoping I can re-join with a new character... what character/class should I be this time? Hmmmmm. ;)

You're not dead Eadric- just unconscious! Bellis will bring you back up and ready to go with a channel energy. And if that doesn't do it, I'll blow another cure light wounds on you.
And in all honesty, I think we are fine. The big, mean centipedes only seem to be able to hurt you. Durn's dodged already, and he has much lower AC than you do. And I think the one who knocked you down is just about dead itself. I'd expect to wrap up this encounter HOPEFULLY by turn 6. XD
EDIT: Hey Dark, you DO count alcohol as being potions of cure light wounds for servants of Cayden Cailean, right?
Eadric Cuthwulf
I realize that I am "just unconscious" (and likely bring dragged into a big dark hole in the ground) :)
Bellis will have to roll well, and the best she can do, is put me at 3 HP. And I would still be grappled(?) :(
I would be careful with casting CLW. Provoking an AoO could really be detrimental to your health! ;)
Same to all you other casters and ranged weapon users! Huge creatures almost always have reach!
I'm not so sure that the second centipede actually made an attack on Durn...(yet!)
Of course you are the Bard... it is your job to think positively! :P
Go Greenbelt Wardens!
DM Dark Kingdom
Just to clarify, the 2nd creature did not attack Durn...rough terrain and movement...these things are actually only large. Durn would know that they have only 5' reach because of their body type. This is a moderately tough combat, with 7 PC's I am "testing" the water so to say. I have not really DM'd more 4 characters in a Paizo module before so I am modifying things a bit.
Just to warn you guys though, the wandering encounters in the AP are pretty deadly. They have been the cause of most character deaths and some party wipes.
Eadric Cuthwulf
Did you have to "test" so hard on "poor" Eadric? :P
Oh. My bad. When I see a creature that is 10'x15' on the battle map, I assume a huge creature. Ignore me and carry on. I am unconscious after all.
Modifying indeed. Otherwise this would almost assuredly be a TPK! ;)

Sorry for not being on for the past few days, my connection at home went down and I haven't been able to get to the library until today. Unfortunately, this pattern is likely to continue until Friday or even as late as Monday. :(
On the bright side, it looks like you're all doing fine without me, despite my absence almost costing an arm and a leg... :P

You too? Oh sure. Make fun of the guy who almost died! You guys should take your act on the road. Oh wait... that is where we were. :)
PS Hope you get your connection issues cleared up asap.

[Rodney Dangerfield]I tell you... I get no respect. No respect![/Rodney Dangerfield]
I stand valiantly between the party and centipede, soaking up attacks, and paying dearly for my efforts... and what do I get in return? Gratitude? Nay. Mockery! :(
A large solitary tear wells up in the corner of Eadric's eye before rolling down his cheek. Wiping it away quickly in the hopes nobody noticed, our poor little paladin thinks to himself, "I'll show them. I'll show them all!"
:)
Eadric Cuthwulf
Good grief! Now the errata have it out for me!
How did I miss this?
Spoiler:
Page 60
In the Smite Evil paladin class feature, change the fourth
sentence of the first paragraph to read as follows.
If the target of smite evil is an outsider with the evil
subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature,
the bonus to damage on the first successful attack
increases to 2 points of damage per level the paladin
possesses.

Are you suggesting I should be taking the Diehard feat at my earliest opportunity? Or perhaps Shield focus? And Stand Still? etc etc etc?
I did have plans on becoming a ranged weapon specialist myself, but after seeing the lack of stand and fight types in the party, I have since reconsidered. I am now a plain old vanilla sword and board high AC paladin type, who... wait for it... wait for it... also focuses on mounted combat with a lance!
I feel cheap and dirty but someone has to keep the monsters from running amok in our ranks.
Defense never gets the glory. :P

Don't worry, it usually doesn't take long for Paizo encounters to get to the soft, squishy ranged opponents...
But to get to us, they'd have to get through Eadr- uhoh...
I think DK just said he was going to cut through Eadric like a hot knife through butter. XD
Eadric Cuthwulf
If it makes you feel any better, my entire build is pretty much meant to make you awesomer and the enemies around you suckier.
That's more like it! See! Your inspirational speaking skills are already improving! :)
I'm feeling better already! Thanks Vanion!

am I ever gonna get to use a spell for something other than healing?? I think not :P I think Bellis will just stand by your waist all day and night eadric! I sense an extra chanelling feat coming on...
Eadric Cuthwulf
Ah. Another classic. The cleric worries she will have to convert all her spells to healing.
Welcome to our little AA (Adventurers Anonymous) meeting. Speak your mind. Don't be shy. We all have something we aren't proud of.
The three of us will be peas in a pod. Eadric will spend most combats laying prone on the ground while Bellis does chest compressions and Vanion shouts encouraging words, "Stabilize! Stabilize! Oh good Eadric! Please stop bleeding on my shoes!"
It is no wonder I am an alcoholic paladin prone to emotional outbursts and has temper management issues.
:)

Don't worry... The bad guys, once they out number us, or come at us in numbers more than 1-2 will just go around you to us squishies.

Slightly off topic, but I find this to be hilarious.
I just got back from a 6 hour session of PF, and we all agree that my Cavalier is cursed. I have four different weapons, and over the course of all four of our sessions each of them does one thing, and one thing only. My longsword is awesome. I always roll well with it, and crit way more times than is right with it. But the problem is with the rest of the weapons. My flail is only capable of hitting our cleric. It has never hit anything else- but it has hit our cleric on several occasions for different reasons. Along the same vain, my dagger is only capable of hitting our rogue. And just like my flail, the dagger has tasted rogue blood multiple times. My final weapon is my lance. I have yet to use my lance. Whenever I have my lance, it has been a suboptimal choice. When ever it would be awesome to use my lance, I am, for a variety of reasons, unable to use it.
And it's not like my GM has been purposefully plotting it out this way. Yes, he's had a little bit of a hand in it- but the weapons selection, dice rolls, party position, and critical fumble deck have all aligned in some odd fashion to make it all work out this way.
We our completely at a loss. But at the end of this session, the rogue actually confiscated my knife.
Edit: I don't see my post I made in the PBP earlier today :/ Either I did something retarded or Paizo ate my post.
