Do you have a program that puts all of that in the format you sent, or did you take the time to type all of that

He used:

Created With Hero Lab® - try it for free at http://www.wolflair.com!

Which requires you to buy it in order to save characters or publish them in any form or fashion.

The demo is nice otherwise but I'm still looking for a free way to do it.

Well worth the money. I have tried all of the free sheets out there and while many are nice and easy to use, none of them come close to Hero Lab. The biggest selling point for me was that it's pretty customizable. Most of the free are great, but unless you're an Excel guru you have to make do with what other people are able to create for you.

Updates to the main data set are free. These include the AP Player's Guides, which is nice. However, I also made the purchase having accepted that major new books (Like the Advanced Player's Guide) will require additional investment. But honestly, after having used it for several months now, it's absolutely worth the money I spent. Of course I currently maintain 2 active characters, 1 active Society character and 4 dormant Society characters as well as characters for a Call of Cthulhu campaign I play in. If this group we are making is your only one, it probably would not be to be worth it.

If you are a native of Sandpoint, what type of Human are you? I did not read that clearly in the little download that I received.

Most humans native to the area are Varisian or belong to the Shoanti tribes. Sandpoint is also close to the Chelaxian border and I think there is a lot of bleed over.

Unfinished History:
Abiyram is going to be a rough-and-tumble sort of rogue, kicked out of his home when he was too young to know what "home" meant when it was determined he could cast divine magic. Or so they thought. Creating water from nothing- once a sport he enjoyed- is now used mainly to ensure he has at least one or two good drinks a day. More to come, and with more elegance when my brain turns on..

Slightly annoying to use, but the best free one I could locate so far.

I know I'm late to the party here, but I thought I'd speak up... I live in spring near 45. I'm also looking for local playtesters for new products if anyone is interested. :D

Also, in our game we have a couple openings in our group for players that can consistently show up for the games they RSVP for... We play on sunday afternoons in Conroe.

Sadly, my Sunday afternoons are spent playing at Asgard Games.

(Well, that's not sad technically speaking, but it does mean I'm not free to join you or I would.)

I would be interested in helping to playtest things though. That's always fun.

Sundays are completely out for me too, sorry.

-S

Segard - I completely understand... no worries! :)

Wolfthulhu - On a positive note, we only play every other sunday, sometimes once a month. As far as the playtesting, I usually bring everything necessary to a game along with a short survey. I allow the playtesters interst to use the product, I take back with me everything, then rinse and repeat. When the final product is done the playtesters get a copy and appear on the "thanks" page.

If you're still interested send me an email kakarasa at gmail dot com. Anyone else in the area may contact me through that email. Thanks! :D

As far as computerized character generators go, I have been using PC Gen

Its free and is keeping up with the latest Paizo releases. Also, once you get comfortable editing list files, you add custom or non-OGL material for your own use pretty easy. I can show you a demo when we get together. In the meantime here is a Link

You can use the stable version 5.16.2 or lately I have been using alpha version 5.17.2 which has been stable enough for me.

I DL'd PC-Gen but couldn't get it to work right.

I'm thinkin about swiping one of my mom's old tablets and seeing if I can load the excel viewer onto it, and then just bring it. but I dunno.
largely depends on the venue and how safe and/or annoying having it there would be.

When was the last time you tried it. It took me a little while to figure it out, but now I have had good luck with it.

Earlier today.

I may fiddle with it more, but it was requiring more brainpower than i was willing to put forth at the moment. :)

On the bright side, I found an old tablet PC to reformat and use..

provided the battery still works, anyway. heh.

Spent a lazy Sunday afternoon building my guy...For the charature traits, are their any restricitons...I was thinking of selecting Hege Mage and rick Parents...any thoughts?

The only restrictions on traits are that you can only choose 1 from each type and they must be incorporated into your back story. Any traits from the Character Trait Web Enhancement or Rise of the Rune Lord players guide are legal.

The two traits you selected above are fine.

Note that the 'traits' in the RotR player's guide are actual feats that were intended to be 'bonus feats' for AP characters. So they are a bit more powerful than the normal 'half feat' traits. Taking one of those and a regular trait would be like a feat and a half.

Edit: Dorgar has made some PRPG compatible traits based on the original feats. >>Here<<

Brings them back in line with the 'half-feat' concept for the most part.

You are right, I forgot you mentioned the traits were feats when got together. I like the conversion you cited above so if anyone is going to use the feats from the player's guide, use the link that Wolfthulhu provided.

I'm still catching up from my trip this weekend, so I will start reviewing the concepts you posted so far tomorrow.

IIRC it's $19.95. I have found it to be worth every penny.

So with that in mind-

it looks like I'll have a tablet PC to bring to the games. Its running win XP, tablet edition.
and its 7 years old.

Soo not exactly a modern machine.

Aside from a basic word processor and all that, any ideas on useful things to bring? I'm no sure I'll be able to get it online away from home so I doubt i'd be able to access the PRD on it.
(not even installing computer games on the thing, so that won't be an issue.. not that it could likely run much beyond Solitaire anyway).

I may be interested in a month or two if you still have space - things are hectic right now. I live in Montgomery.

If we fail to find another place, We can do my house as long as folks don't mind the kids. My wife does a good job of keeping them out the games but my Son (almost 4) likes to hang out with the guys until we start the game. I have a big table that has had up to 8 people playing on it at a time. Games would have to wait til about 7 but can go as late as 2am if we want.

JR has played at my place and knows my kids, so he knows what to expect.

No hurt feelings if we don't play here, I remember what it was like not having kids and dealing with them at game time.

George

According to Mapquest, it is 59 minutes from Navasota to Dunn Bros. So the best I can do is get there around 6:30 pm. if we are talking Friday night. That would leave us about 3 hours of play taking into account setup and tear down.

If you don't mind hosting, I prefer to play at your home. 7ish would work well for me.

Well lets call it for the 14th at my place, I will e-mail out my address to everyone. If you guys would not mind a 7:30 start time i would appreciate it that way I have time to help the wife get the kids settled down.

Oh I also have dogs, they stay in their room when people comeover, just wanted to warn any who may have issues with dogs.

See everyone on the 14th

So. at 1930 hrs (7:30 PM) on the 14th of May, meet at George's house for a rock'em, sock'em, roaring good time of D&D...no wait..PF.
:)

Sounds like a plan.

I got a chance to review everyone's player concepts at lunch today and they are looking very good. Here is a recap:

lebreton - half elf Cleric of Cayden Cailean - In Sandpoint visiting grave of deceased mother.

Wolfthulhu - Remicus - human (Shoanti) Fighter - In Sandpoint visiting parents

Selgard - Abiyram - human (Cheliaxian) Rogue

Juniorbarnes13 - Arcane Caster

Has anyone heard from Derek about what his concept is?

Also Juniorbarnes13 could you send me an email, so that we can correspond between sessions if necessary? My email is posted up thread.

My very busy April is finally coming to a close (Physical Inventory tomorrow and Saturday) then I can really get cracking posting some background info on our adventure.

I can't wait until May 14th. Thanks for hosting lebreton.

I did not see the email, of course at school I couldn't search to hard...so here is mine. Juniorbarns13@yahoo.com. Nice and simple.

Here is a link to a Compact Stat Block Template for Obsidian Portal that may be helpful.

Edit: Selgard, if you check a few posts down on thread referenced above, it talks about an excel sheet that exports nicely into Obsidian Portal. It looks like that sheet is the one that you are using now. sCoreGen-b12

Ok, pretty sure I have my character fairly well done and up.

Just need to figure out how much cash he has left, and buy a few more odds and ends.

Alright, got Remicus put in. Guess I'm gonna go check out the site some more now.

Drop mine character in there last night, looks like it should work well. Easy way to keep up with where we are in the game.

We may want to start kicking around dates for June and maybe even July to set the next game, if we have the availability maybe we can get three games into the two months.

June 4th or 11th works well for me. The rest of June is booked.

I'm glad you like Obsidian Portal. I figured since we are only going to meet every 3 - 4 weeks it would help with continuity and allow a way to continue parts of the game offline.

If we still like it after a month, I may move up to the paid subscription to get rid of the advertisements and open up the forum for use. Its $40 for a year.

For that kind of price, I could be talked into pitching in a bit. Even on my 'tight' budget.

Wolfthulhu wrote:

I have no issue pitching in to get it going.

June 4th, and 25th would do for me, 11th is a maybe, waiting on plans.

Barring some irregularity I'm open pretty much any friday, indefinitely.

My Fridays are flexible. I have to skip another gaming group to do it, but they're cool with the arrangement. Most of the other players miss a week out of 3 or 4 too for various reasons.

Awesome. I can't wait.

Thoughts about House Rules.

I was just looking at the updated Obsidian Portal wiki and had a couple thoughts/questions.

1) Starting Gold. Were we going with average starting gold for class or are we rolling it? I think it was average, but I don't recall for sure.

2) RotR is Pre-PRPG, obviously and was scaled accordingly. The 3.5 level scale is actually closer to 'fast' progression in Pathfinder. I was just wondering if this was taken into account when deciding on Med XP or if it was just a default thing. (For the record, I don't know if it would make a huge difference. Just wanted to bring it up.)
