I have played through *part* of one of the paths but to be honest I really don't know which one.

And I hesitate to say what I do remember for fear of giving something away.

I do not think it was Runelords though.

As far as what you run- pick one and its fine by me. Find a published one or make it up, its all the same to me really :)

I don't have a PFS character but I can probably drum one up, depending on who is coming and what character food groups are already filled and needed.

With this in mind what do folks like to play?

I am one of those guys who most of the time fills the gap after everyone has picked a class, so I flex to anything. If I had to rank classes on what I prefer, it would be

1)Cleric
2)Rogue
3)Bard (only when if I end up as the 5th guy and not filling a gap)
4)Fighter/Pally (depends on what we need)
5)Ranger(same as bard)
6)Wizard

I have never played a Barbarian, Druid, or Sorcerer.

I swap races onther than Gnome, I have never played one. I tend not to play human.

I'm going to try and mail it Saturday, along with the boy's birthday presents.

hmm How many do we actually have signing on as players?

I usually try not to play the wizardy type but end up drawn back to the wizardy type. Last game I was a halfling wizard. Before that, Human sorc.

Not really adverse to playing anything but a Paladin (personal aversion lol).

I'd most like to play a summoner but I'm waiting and praying the APG fixes them from their current state.

-S

I can play pretty much anything when I'm not GM. I'm currently most interested in the APG classes.

Everything Pathfinder is fair game including APG classes. I will allow some 3.5 stuff also, because the original appeal to me of Pathfinder was the backward compatibility. The only caveat is that we need to work together to convert it to Pathfinder rules as much as possible. No Codzilla's please.

As far as the number of players, I think we have 4 players plus me as GM.

I have another buddy who will be playing by the name of John. He plans on getting on these forums soon. He told me he was thinking caster, but not sure beyond that.

Shut up! We need fresh vict... *cough cough* Members. We need new members is what I was saying.

hmm 5 person group. those can be fun.

I'd be willin to do the rogue thing, if no one has their heart set on it.

And if someone does, I'll try out one of Treantmonk's ranger builds I think :) hehe

-S

or may do one for our campaign and the other for the PFS thing.

Just bumping this so that everyone knows where we are meeting today at 6:45 pm. Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Hey George, it's Derek

I was unable to make your meet tonite. Hope it went well. I would definitly want to get in on a game running around north houston. I am up in conroe but can get into Spring no problem. If I understand that Pathfinder is what 3.5 should have been, then I would most likely want to play a mage or other Arcane spellcaster. That being said, I am flexible and can role play just about any class. Drop me a line or post here and i will get back to you in a day or so.

Derek:

The meeting went fine, we mostly just did the meet/greet thing.

Am pretty sure we decided on:

Rise of the Runelords
20 point buy
2 traits

What we really lack is somewhere to play.. we were brain storming abit on it, and someone is going to check on a store up in Tomball I think.

Any ideas on other places?

Depending on how the party sets for dmg, fighting, etc... I may drop a level or 2 of fighter into the build. Here are the basic plans for the character

Bastard sword fighter with shield (exotic wep prof feat level 1)

Basic back story (may be revised or added to)

Character was raised in Sandpoint until the age of 12 when his mother fell victim to Chopper. He was taken to Magnimar where he was raised for the next few years by his aunt and uncle. Those few years were spend helping his uncle in his tavern. The character learned the art of brewing, gambling, and how to have fun in life. One of his favorite patrons of the place was an aged cleric who explained the faith to the boy and inspired him to travel the world, and enjoy freedom. He has decided to do just this, leaving the city to journey the land. He takes with him some armor he bought from a pawnshop and an old sword his uncle had taught him to use. With some coin in pocket he has decided to visit the grave of his mother, and have a drink in his old home town.

Doesn't exotic w.p. require +1 BAB still to take?

At the moment, I'm thinking of being a dual wielding "war knife" rogue.
The stats seem to be the same as the kukri with a little extra help to keep them hidden on a search check.

(the war knife being in the ROTRL player's guide).

As for race and history. I haven't gotten far on that yet. Need to ponder more.

You are right, thanks for pointing that out. I have never used this feat before and did not notice. I guess I will rework that until 3rd level or I take a fighter level

If I go with the fighter I will be going the bastard sword & shield route. Add the Shield Bash feat chain and TWF for DMG and Bullrush goodness. :^D

At the meeting ya'll were talkin about some obsidian doodad where we could post our characters?

What was the full name of it? I'd like to give it a look-see.

So I found a coffee shop that is dead, good size, and might work for us. Only drawback is that it closes at 10, and may be a bit more of a drive for Tordek. It is Dunn Bros. on Spring Cypress near Champion Forest drive.

Or

If we fail to find another place, We can do my house as long as folks don't mind the kids. My wife does a good job of keeping them out the games but my Son (almost 4) likes to hang out with the guys until we start the game. I have a big table that has had up to 8 people playing on it at a time. Games would have to wait til about 7 but can go as late as 2am if we want.

JR has played at my place and knows my kids, so he knows what to expect.

No hurt feelings if we don't play here, I remember what it was like not having kids and dealing with them at game time.

George

Arcane type caster, of the Human variety. I have only played casters as antaganists for my players.
This is going to be a learning experiance for me, my first Pathfinder guy...so I will do the bestests that I can. :)

I'm driving back home on Sunday - On Monday, I 'll look to see how far it is and what time I could get there. Otherwise, I have no problem with Plan B.

I don't mind kids.

I've even played with them actually at the table in long running campaigns.

I also know the coffee shop. Well, I've driven by often anyway.

plan B is fine for me.

Playing till 2 is much better than playing until.. 10. especially if we're starting at 6 or 7. hehe.

Wherever its at, its just once a month.. so even abit of a drive isn't too bad :)

Spent a lazy Sunday afternoon building my guy...For the charature traits, are their any restricitons...I was thinking of selecting Hege Mage and rick Parents...any thoughts?

Was I reading the skill section corectly, you get a +3 if you have a rank in it, plus your ranks and atributs; otherwise it is just a normal skill check (for those that can be used untrained).

Feets are looking like Point blank shot and escew materials.

for skills-

if its class skill you get +3 if you put 1 point into it, plus your attribute and whatnot.

If its not a class skill you don't get the +3.

I should have built mine.. ugh i spent most of the day asleep though.
Chef boyardee was not my friend today ;p

The only restrictions on traits are that you can only choose 1 from each type and they must be incorporated into your back story. Any traits from the Character Trait Web Enhancement or Rise of the Rune Lord players guide are legal.

The two traits you selected above are fine.

Note that the 'traits' in the RotR player's guide are actual feats that were intended to be 'bonus feats' for AP characters. So they are a bit more powerful than the normal 'half feat' traits. Taking one of those and a regular trait would be like a feat and a half.

Edit: Dorgar has made some PRPG compatible traits based on the original feats. >>Here<<

Brings them back in line with the 'half-feat' concept for the most part.

Background:
Remicus' parents were slaves to a Katapeshi merchant living in Cheliax. As an average sized foreign child slave, he was often bullied and mistreated by Chelaxian youths. As he approached his teen years, he began to grow and fill out. His size and angry attitude quickly earned him a place in the violent, often fatal bloodsport arenas. There he learned to channel his temperament into the arts of combat and quickly rose above his peers as a talented warrior, earning a respectable and steady income for his master.

While honing his skills he learned of Gorum, Our Lord in Iron. Worship of the Battle Lord was outlawed in Cheliax, but there was a strong underground following among the gladiators.

His life surely would have ended early, in a blood pit under some unnamed tavern, but his aging master truly cared for his slaves and since he had no family, he chose to free them as his death approached. After moving the household back to Qadira, he worked with the church of Saerenrae to have Remicus and his parents officially freed, along with a dozen or so other slaves.

Remicus' family moved with him back to settle in Varisia and opened a small shop in Sandpoint.

Remicus has spent the last year on the Storval Plateau, getting to know the ways of his people, and has recently returned to Sandpoint to see his parents.

If you are a native of Sandpoint, what type of Human are you? I did not read that clearly in the little download that I received.
