Flying Figure Stands

Product Discussion

Darn! Wanted to give these a try!

Yeah, I would've liked to add these to my collection. I've purchased some other tokens from Litko and found them to be a nice addition to my gaming table.

The flying figure stands still seem to be available directly from litko http://www.litkoaero.com/page/LAI/PROD/AFS_Acc/AFS047.

At my gaming table I use alot of items from litko and some from paizo.

For savage worlds games I use http://www.litkoaero.com/page/LAI/PROD/TS/TS125 (although they do have an official collection of tokens)

For 3.x / Pathfinder games I use:
2 sets of bloodsplats http://www.litkoaero.com/page/LAI/PROD/TS/TS050-RED
1 gamemasters set of condition tokens http://www.litkoaero.com/page/LAI/PROD/TS/TS092
1 set of plasma tokens http://www.litkoaero.com/page/LAI/PROD/TS/TS065-FBL
1 set of acid tokens http://www.litkoaero.com/page/LAI/PROD/TS/TS050-FGR

I use the last two for spell effect markers as needed, also I don't use all of the GM set, but the price is good. My only complaint is that I had to manually add white wax for the GM tokens to make them more legible, but its suggested at litko.

Lastly to pimp some products from paizo. I really enjoy using their item cards, friends and foes, and critical hit/fumble decks http://paizo.com/gameMastery/itemPacks

Wow! We bought quite a few of these. For them to already be on backorder means that we have sold quite a few! I'll get Jeff to put a reorder in on Monday. Thanks for everyone for taking a chance on a new product!

Are these sturdy enough to hold metal minis?

Contributor

I haven't tested them personally, but the acrylic on the invisible character tokens is 2mm thick and sturdy, and these are probably the same thickness and should support a Medium metal mini.

I bought a pair of these, and know they support the plastic D&D minis with no problem. As for metal minis - I don't own any, so couldn't test one. Like Mr. Reynolds, I think they'd be sturdy enough.

However, if the metal mini has a square base, then it might not fit as well onto the stand, which has a curved edge designed to help keep the mini in place. Of course, the way around that is to buy some of the square stands.

Also, when assembling the stand, if you're not careful, it can end up slightly angled, which might cause it to tip over if a heavier metal mini is placed on it.

Hmm, thanks guys. I'll give them a shot. At least for my NPCs which I use plastic minis for. If they don't work for metal, there's always Dr. Wizard's version.

By gluing the parts together, these easily support metal minis.

Scarab Sages

I picked these up at PaizoCON 2010, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to put them together. I understand (now) that these are met to be glued together, which I found disappointing, but even with that, how do I get the lower and upper post parts to stay together well enough to support a mini. Both pieces end in flat surfaces with no posts or bits to support the gluing and add bracing.

It looks to me like the circular parts each have a slot, and the wiggle elevated part has a tab at each end, and the tabs go in the slots.

Sean is correct you add a dab of glue inside the slot on the round bases and then insert the vertical part into each round base and add another glob of glue on the outside. Just be sure to DRY FIT them first. You may need to use a small metal file and shave down the slot a bit to get a good fit. After they are loose dry fit then slide apart carefully and add glue and put them back together. FYI they do have square bases available too. I got some and actually recommended these guys contact Paizo so y'all are welcome ;-). I got mine and they are just fine. Love them. Like everything I got from these guys. I even got a custom set of pathfinderized tokens a la the 4E set they sell. They rock!
