Because of school and other responsibilities I don't have time to always write up adventures for my group, but God love them they like the way a run a game but I need prep time plus time off, so I have going to have them kill each other's character off..... :D
Will not their main characters :D We will be playing a side game which will be a contest of character creation, strategy and good old fashion manslaughter.
This is what I have so far and I would love some feed back or suggestions.
Welcome to the Rock
Somewhere in the ethereal reaches fo space is an asteroid. This asteroid is whole and is very special prison. Prisoners are brought here to fight in a special arena for their freedom, their memories and a mysterious prize. When prisoners are brought to the Rock their memories are wiped clean but their skills remain in tact. Every fight won earns the prisoners points which they may trade in for the use of magical weapons and gear from the Rock’s armory. These fights are to the death although if they have enough points they can be resurrected. These fights are also magically broadcasted over the ether to various civilizations via pay per view.
Rules:
* Each player shall create 1 active 5th level character of a single class.
* Each player shall also create 2 inactive 5th level character of a single class.
* If a player’s active character is killed with no chance of resurrection then one of the inactive characters are activated and are promoted to two levels below the previous character that died. This is to represent that these inactive characters are actually participating in the arena.
(Example: Joe’s first character makes it to level 8, dies in combat and has not points to be resurrected so his next character comes in as level 6 instead of level 5)
* For each win: The character in addition to XP is awarded “show” points of 100 point times their current character level. These points may be exchanged for the use of magical gear from the Rock’s armory. If you character dies, he will be raised if you have the points. The raise cost is 100 points times your character’s level.
* If your character dies and is raised from the dead then your character loses a level and can only be regained via gaining xp.
* The Rock’s communal shower room cures all wounds and afflictions except for lycanthropy.
* Only one player may have a character in the arena at a time.
* If a player is not playing his character then he will be playing the opposition although sometimes this will be his own character which is the exception tot he rule.
* The first player to have a character reach level 20 wins the game. He will then get a prize from the GM. This prize is a secret.
CHARACTER CREATION
* Books you can use: Core Pathfinder Rules, Play test classes of the up incoming Pathfinder AVP, any 3.5 supplement with the exception of the following ( D&D PHB and PHB2)
* Stat Generation: Pathfinder Purchase System: 25 points
* Background History: None you don’t have a memory any more.
* Character Concept: You must start off with one class only but as you level you many choose different paths.
* Banned Character Classes: Artificer, Effigy Master, or any other item creation class.
* Reducing level adjustments are allowed and you may use the starting levels: For more info: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingleveladjustments.htm* Starting Money and Gear: No money is found here, you are also in your underwear, wizards are the exception to the rule if they choose bound item in addition to their spell book ( however this is kept under lock on key), non-magical weapons and armor are free to use from the Rock’s armory. Magical gear can be rented for exchange of points.
* Pets: If you have an animal companion or a familiar from a class ability or feat this companion is allowed into the arena to aid you in combat however while not in the arena the animal is locked up, although there are visiting hours.
* The Leadership Feat: You can use this feat however if you do so you bring in one of your spare characters as a cohort. However, doing so the points awarded to you are split between you and your cohort evenly based on your character level plus half of your cohort’s level.

So making a hulking hurler who can throw moons is totally cool, but no artificers?
Sorry, that build always makes me laugh at it's absurdity. Same thing with the build that flies and knocks people in the ground for a ridiculous amount of damage.
I think you're idea is spiffy, but a lot of work for a one shot and seems like it would take a lot of time as well as players basically have to tweak everything between each round. Then again if you alternate the player who is fighting each round they will have time to pick out new gear figure out which new spells to go with and new strategies.

Well here is the thing, they are basically are in a prison so they can't really own anything, just borrow from the armory so being at item maker class is kind of moot.
They won't just be fighting each other but monsters as well. The fun part is that they get to play the monsters as well so they can try and stop the other players from winning.
I really don't see it as a lot of work mainly because there will be no real plot and it is basically just a chance to wail on each other. This frees up my week so that I can do school work and then work on the main game a my leisure. So far they are excited about the idea.
