I just got a call back from my interview yesterday. Let's just say that I'll be continuing my search.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that Taig. I hope you find something soon.

Okay, remind me again - which FAWTLY that's going to MB is looking for any particular 3.x hardcovers (or anything in particular)?

The books I could pick up would be, at the most, half off the cover price plus sales tax. If there is a particular book that I can obtain between today and next Tuesday that would get onto your "YES PICK IT UP I WILL PAY YOU BACK", speak up.

I know LPM wants Deities & Demigods, but I haven't run across that yet. I'm going to try to squeeze in a covert HPB run while down in Cincy this weekend two while the lil lady is getting her hair done and attending her sister-in-law's baby sprinkle.

I could use any Monster Manuals, BoVD and anything that looks fun.

I think Moorluck had made this observation in one of the earlier incarnations of FAWTL.

a couple weeks ago...:

There was a fire drill over one weekend and the base's fire department learned that the water to our sprinkler system had been turned off since the late '90s. That had been OK'd because it was not a requirement when the building was constructed and the typical occupancy would be fewer than 200 people.

Well...that 200 bit has grown since then and the base commander was very angry about some mistakes being made. So, not wishing to get into trouble with the commander and not knowing if no sprinkler would be a violation of our nuclear permit, my boss's boss told us to stop working until he had time to research the situation.

Oneof my co-workers asked: "Are we allowed to get on the computers and the internet?"

His answer: "Yes, but only if you are NOT using it to do work."

After researching, he determined we were OK and could start working again the next day.

The fire department was not so easily impressed. However, we (the workers of the building) still managed to do it. The had a surprise fire alarm drill. THe entire six story building with about four hundred (or more people) evacuated within six minutes of the alarm being set off.

WOW.

Sorry about that. Something has gone screwy with the bank account. Again. There will be money in it. Tomorrow. There was supposed to still be money in it tonight. When I am at the grocery store with cranky wet cold child (who is wet and cold through his own fault, but still makes me suffer right along with him) is not the time I want to find out there is in fact no money in my account. Luckily I was able to scrape together enough cash, but this keeps happening and it really pisses me off since it usually ends up being a bank error.

Harrumph.

Okay. I'm doing better now. The kid is taking a warm bath and his muddy clothes are in the washer. His jacket needed washing anyways. Hopefully his shoes will be dryish by morning. And there will soon be orange chicken and egg rolls to eat. This is not so bad and I should not let it upset me so much. Right. Okay.

Whew.....wow. Ok, two trash runs down, bed picked up, crib taken out, bed put in, stopped at Wally world and picked up two bookcases so that we can start organizing the living area, and bought a new broom so that I don't have to break my back trying to sweep.

And Riley is asleep in his new FireTruck Bed! Oh and is that thing HUGE! I wasn't sure it would fit in the back of the Jimmy. We had to tie and tether it down! And Kellen had to help me get it in the house!

Something tells me that what we're going to walk into is going to look nothing like what some of us have seen over Skype or what the dragon has encountered previously.

Awright folks, I'm off for now. I gotta see about helping mom with some legal stuff.

Solnes, I hereby award you +1 bonus to your Strength and Wisdom for your travails this day!

And some of those people listed need to get to work on their F2F PCs!

Just sayin'. :)

I think a lot of people like to read it even though they don't post there often (if at all).

I'm getting frustrated though. I know what I'm thinking. I try to write it out. And then I read some of the responses and think "huh?".

I'm getting that from everyone when I'm reading that thread right now. It seems everyone is trying to steer the argument, no one is successful.

Meh....

I've been making a lot of will saves. Sometimes I have things on my mind that will piss of the left, right and the middle.

The sooner you get out here on Wednesday, the sooner I can get you to hit some of those prime spots yourself. And you know something, that may or may not give me an idea on the trip between Columbus and MB...

Bank of America. Honestly, for the most part they're not that bad. But then there are these stupid niggling little things that just keep happening. Grrr.

Not that most banks don't do the same. But at some point it would be nice if they fixed the glitches. I know. I know. Dreamland. Not gonna happen. Sigh.

I'll do that.

The way I'm looking, it's I-80 E to Davenport, then pick up I-74 E to Indianapolis, then I-70 East all the way through Columbus. You're looking at around 700 miles. I live just two miles north of I-70. Depending on how you drive, you're looking at anywhere between 9.5 to 11 hours on the road.

Thanks! I'll scratch that off my list.

Where-ever you're looking around, would it happen to have any Iron Kingdoms hardcover or Gamma World 6th ed? Aside from that, I'd really like Steampunk OGL from Mongoose. :P

The only 3.5 D&D book that I want remaining is Ghostwalk.

Badgah....you looking for anything in particular?

I Think that one of my FLGS's has a copy of Ghostwalk and some of the Gamma world stuff. No idea of what edition the Gamma world stuff is, however. If I see it would you like me to pick it up?

Is it discounted? That's the catch.

Here's what I see at Amazon:

Player's Handbook
Cryptic Alliances & Unknown Enemies
Out of the Vaults
Beyond the Horizon
Game Master's Guide
Mutants & Machines

Nope. Not discounted. I think... ~shakes my head~ Let me check tomorrow. I have to go there anyway to pick up my magazine boxes.

If it is discounted, it is only a 22% discount before taxes.

Not that any seems to notice me right now but I shall share since this has been one weird evening.;)

So went to my sons play. I think he did rather well. The part he played had all the one liners and he played with a gusto.

From there we went and picked up his little brother and went to the festival downtown. I parked a bit farther away then I needed to; figuring on the parking to be dismal, turns out that the weather was turning out poorly and few people went. Well there we are walking to the fest and the tornado sirens go off. out in the open, yeah fun. We went to the basement of the Bank of America building where we were right next to at the time. Waited a bit and then went back out after the sirens ended. Not much left of the fest since well Tornado's make people not show up. The concert moved inside of course.

Waited for my wife, we used walkie talkies to connect to each other. She was late since they did not let them go out with even the possibility of a bad storm with kids on the bus.

Finally getting tired of waiting for her we walked back to our van only then to have her contact us.

Went to my sons school then for the second showing. I should have checked to have seen if it was canceled first but having no cell phone and being halfway there anyway we went to the school. Yeah it was canceled.

Come home and find out my ex father in law had to go in to work because of the storm, so here I sit letting all the adrenalin, which is all that was keeping me going, go away and calming down.

How is everyone else doing?

I never ever take both boys to Wal-Mart alone. Ever. I feel for you girl I really do.

I'm good. Trying to finish up my morning class. I had forgotten to cross a few t's and dot a few i's. :S

Ah, that's okay then. Seems the prices are better on the web. :)

Now if he's sitting on Iron Kingdoms hardcovers, then no question - I'll take 'em. :)
