*sigh* she gave him permission. now she's mad at me for getting mad about it. and she's got her sister and her 2 kids visiting, but my nephews are being pretty considerate. Sad thing is this proves I'm not as recovered as I'd like to be. Still, better than last week or the week b4.
Too bad my health insurance doesn't cover recovery in Maui. that'd be cool.

Things like that set me off. Here's a trick that might help; you know you're not. If someone does/says something that would upset you, try to let it roll off your back. If for some reason you need to defend your honor, do it with class, but don't insult the person in the process. This isn't always possible (we're all human beings and entitled to our faults) but the reward is showing those around you that you won't be bullied, if even if they press it, you show them that they are the idiots.I am sorry that I did not respond to your suggestion sooner, TAD. I appreciate the authentic offer of advice.
My problem is that I WILL often be so lenient (sp?) as to let myself be walked all over. Until I realize I am allowing it... Basically, I bounce from one extreme to the other of allowing myself to be walked over or willing to act in a fashion similarly to Moorluck with the few things that truly anger me.
Basically, once I reach the point of not being willing to put up with something (fuse length varies with whichever thing it is that is drawing my ire...), I care nothing for honor or class. If someone calls me an idiot to my face, my fist is going into his mouth through his teeth. If said person is not ready to defend himself, it is his fault. He should have been if he spoke to me that way. Some people I might not want to get in a fight with and that is what a gun is for. Just kidding on the last part. My rule for carrying a gun is that you walk away when you can and do not even bother responding to verbal assaults that do not contain physical threats.
I don't reach the point of physical violence, but I will yell at someone when I get there. I've been told that I'm pretty intimidating, which surprises me.

Hmm, maybe the wife will take me to the video store when she gets back from going to Big Boy (avoiding grumpy me). Thx.

Yeah, the Maui thing would be cool. On the other hand, maybe that would be another form of over-stimulation....
There are definitely worse ways to go.
(Too morbid?)
Maybe we should test the theory. If everyone sends me $100 we can begin the 'Save the Tree' fund.
Or, Solnes can post a video with a hula skirt... ;)

Does Heathcare involve Nurses?
And if it does, where do I sign up?
Heathcare involves nurses who don't shave. You sure you want that?

Ya know, $murfs are nicer to use to voice dissent.
Ouch.
And yet...somehow...good...
Anyhow, I wasn't necessarily out to lock the thread. People take politics on the internets way too seriously.
Er, wait. Make that politics in general.
Edit: Hey! When did the $murfs start working?

This badger would have been 5 at the time. I'm sure even in the dark days of the '70's that would have been illegal. :S

Good eeeeevening...
@E7: Got you beat. YOU'RE ALL PUPPIES!
@Taig: Congrats on the publication. Woo!
@Moorluck: SP says to say HELZ YEAH on the Chinese Stealth Armor. He's busy cleaning out Fort Independence because they all went hostile after the Alaskan mission.
@Mac: My sister's a nurse. You don't wanna go there. She has all the tender mercies of a wolverine.
@Moorluck: Bask in the post-dissertation spring.
@Patrick Curtin: Really? Shoot. Will miss the monkey.
Hi and bye to all. Gonna go convert Second Darkness to Pathfinder. I found conversions on the SD thread, but they don't seem to match up with mine at all, nor can I figure how they were done.
Studpuffin is lost to Fallout3 for another night, methinks.
