Lack of posts earlier in the day hindered my posting rate, so some mining was required.

Those action figures would look good on the table. I especially like the creatures with the tech embedded into their bodies. That would make for some perfect Chaositech.
I've seriously been eye-balling Rackham's minis because they're already painted. Their Confrontation and AT-43 lines would work well. Only place I saw 'em in stock up-close was at Ravenstone out near Karl & 161.
Usually you can find them at online mini retailers like Miniature Market . At Origin's last year I found them for really cheap, something like 50% off each pack.
For some reason I didn't notice you linked the Paizo store for the Rackham minis. Sorry about that. I feel silly now.

With the exception of Willie, Cash is practically the only thing "country" that I enjoy.
Which reminds me. I was at a store earlier today that had a Johnny Cash t-shirt with this on it. Made me think of you. ;)
Nice. :)
But you also forget Waylon Jennings, he was just as great as Willie, and a personal hero of mine. I wept when he died. :/
Waylon's great. I believe Mike Ness cited him as his biggest influence, which, when you think about it, isn't all that surprising.

Then I saw the "Notice of Disciplinary Action" sitting out on the desk and was simultaneously relieved and dismayed.
Anyway, we had a long talk (mostly initiated by me) about how my motivation has been waning, how all of my friends at work have quit or gotten fired, how all the projects I've worked on in the last two years have failed to ever come to fruition, and how I've felt stuck in one spot for the last two and a half years with little prospect of movement, and how it's very tempting to me to seek out distractions. It was an interesting discussion (I figured I didn't have much to lose and went with the honest approach).
I can't say as anything really came out of it, but getting "written up" bites. It means I can't apply for a promotion for 6 months.
Anyway, my posting from work will probably be virtually nil for the foreseeable future.
So do I.

Paizo was one of the few "gaming" sites I could access from work. There are sites out there that are less obvious but are more likely to be flagged as a gaming site. I wonder why this is.

Good morning! I have to go in to work early (hey, 8:00 a.m. is early, K?) for an hour or so, but then we get the day off!! The Puffinmobile needs tires and a windshield, and we'll proceed to the zoo while it gets overhauled. T'will be glorious! Recreation! Of course, four run-flats and a windshield will be pricey, but it will be great to have less noise and more peace of mind about the car actually reaching its destination.
+1 to Uri for used compy stores. At worst, LPM can take the lappy there, try out a compatible adapter, and see if it fixes the problem. At best, it will fix the problem. I'm not sure about Compaqs, but Toshibas have a notorious issue with the internal power coupling detaching from the circuit board. All it takes is cracking the case and resoldering the fixture where the cord plugs in and WALAA. Ees feex. Urizen, can you boot in safe mode and run a reg cleanup tool? You might be able to find one on majorgeeks.com.
Good luck with everyone's health and employment situations. I'm hoping our new direction for the store (toys instead of baby stuff) will mean we actually make money and I can get a paycheck. My employment is strictly volunteer work at this point and it sucks monkey balls. Maybe we can get a bailout. It is kind if depressing that people are more willing to spend money on fun and games than on their babies.

(hey, 8:00 a.m. is early, K?).......
If you say so...
Have fun at the zoo. It's been years since I've been to one. About 15 years, to be precise. I went with some friends on a summer visit to the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. I used to love that place.
I've often thought of going to the Philly Zoo, but I keep hearing it's a real s%$$ hole, and in a bad neighborhood.

Nope. Same problem. I know what to do to edit the registry, but I need to get there. I literally have to boot up from something else to intercept the issue. The problem is that I need a Win XP 32-bit boot CD and the Win XP that's on the desktop is OEM and therefore didn't come with a boot. Sure, I could reboot it and force it to reformat the whole system, but ... yeah, don't want to lose stuff you know? I'd make a boot disk from my laptop, but it's running Win 7 64-bit.
Hence my current dilemma...

I haven't been since 01 or 02, but I really liked the Philly Zoo. It's not the National Zoo or even the Bronx, but I'd rate it as a good zoo.
Treppa & Puffin:
Enjoy your zoo trip.
And to everyone, a good morning.

If you're always looking for additional ideas for monsters and don't mind dropping a couple of bucks, this book is based off of Larry Elmore's campaign world. I can pick this sucker up for only $2 + tax. Any interested parties? It's 3.x, but wouldn't take much to convert.

Grraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Post got eaten!! NOTHING GOING RIGHT TODAY!! ARRGGH!!
Thanks for the insights yesterday, Puffy and Urizy. Where do you stand on Wizard "having to be specialists otherwise they suck"?
Heh..Puffinmobile..now I'm going to think of Puffin and Treppa dressed up as Puffinman and Sparrow going out to fight crime and the forces of evil.

Steve walks warily down the street,
with the brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet,
machine guns ready to go
Are you ready, Are you ready for this
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
How do you think I'm going to get along,
without you, when you're gone
You took me for everything that I had,
and kicked me out on my own
Are you happy, are you satisfied
How long can you stand the heat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
There are plenty of ways you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him
You can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him
When he's down
But I'm ready, yes I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
repeating the sound of the beat
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust

Home finally. Up sick to the tummy at 5 am sucks, having to be up at 7am to get kids ready for a field trip to a farm to pick strawberries in 95 degree weather sucks even more. But home now and tummy is starting to finally feel normal. I just wish I knew what was bringing the occasional midnight upset tummy. :S

While it may be diagnostically useful to have the kidlet literally bouncing off of the walls during the doctor appt where we were talking about the possibility of Sensory Seeking SPD....it wasn't exactly one of those warm fuzzy parenting moments. :S
Have a referral to a specialist and a note for the school OT stating that this is most probably what is wrong and he should receive treatment accordingly. The specialist will probably just send us on to an OT as well, but the pediatrician wants us to talk with someone who is able to really look at the whole picture since a lot of this is out of her field of expertise. Seems reasonable. A little expensive, but insurance might cover some of it.
