Question for Sean and the judges: While I don't see it (or missed it if it's there) in the rules, I'm taking it that we aren't allowed to discuss with the other Top 16 which monster we select to stat up (to reduce overlap, I doubt you guys want to see 6 'Skintaker' entries for example). Is this a correct assumption?

No one should discuss anything, IMHO. It would be interesting if something like that did occur, though. ;)

If you discuss that you will be immediately disqualified. It may well happen that there is overlap.

In fact, we expect it, so sayeth the rules: "We expect there will be some overlap as multiple competitors choose the same interesting and/or popular monsters from Round 2."
LIMITATION: Entry must be CR 6 or lower.

Congrats to the top 16! A pity I can't join you, but I can't wait to see what you guys will do.
And I'd like to thank everybody here for their time and consideration during this process. A special thanks to the judges for their time and everyone who took a moment to look over my humble submissions. I've had a blast and can't wait for another try! See you again next year.
