Council of Thieves

I've been reading up on my COT and I am excited. It will be the first pathfinder AP I have GM'd, and I think it's going to be a good one. It is still a few months from when we start but I'm thinking, instead of pulling fresh undeveloped characters to Janiven's place to have a nice dinner, this is where we start. The players already have a write-up of what she tells them given to them before they design their characters, and the players at this point tell THEIR story of why Janiven selected them to each other as a way of introducing their character and how they fit into this campaign. I would like some feedback on what others think of this idea.

We're playing through CoT right now (about half way through part 4) and this has been one of most RP heavy campaigns. It certainly helps that all 4 PCs have high Cha.

I think your idea is great and helps get the players immersed in the story early on. Make sure they read the PLayers guide as well as that really helped us build characters effective in this path.

I have 2 already reading through the player's guide and they both want to play bard actors at this point :) muahahahaha

Scarab Sages

All of my PCs have high CHA, including the monk with a 19 (she was thinking monk/paladin at creation)

I had 3 bards to start with (one going to PF Chronicler, one going to paladin)

All four players worked at a small theater called "Theatre Diabolique"

Between module 1 and 2 they put on a play "Sweeny Todd, Demon Barber." The would-be PF Chronicler wrote the script and sold it for his PrC requirement.

We've since lost the single-class bard and he was replaced with Rizzardo, npc barbarian (1/2 xp).

It's interesting to see how many high charisma parties are playing this.

If you think about it, three of the four iconics have high charismas.
