ERRATA: Mutant humans and pureblood humans (like the new names?) are now cooler.
Mutant humans get a bonus minor mutation (no MP cost, so no drawbacks to balance) at 1st, 5th, and 10th character level. They get a bonus major or minor mutation at 15th and 20th level. A considerable power boost, obviously.
Pureblood humans get "superior toughness", giving them 6 bonus hp at 1st level, and 2 bonus hp per level starting at 4th (basically Toughness X2; it doesn't stack with Toughness).
I think this puts them on more even ground with mutant animals (but I might boost them a smidge by giving more of them modest natural armor bonuses) and mutant plants, which have all the plant immunities, camoflauge in the right terrain, etc.
You know, I am very excited about your conversion. Do you plan to include rules for magic? I may just make some kind of Dying Earth meets Thundar the Barbarian setting.

Thanks for your interest, nightflier! The default assumption in the core doc is that magic doesn't exist (though most of the population believes in it, and considers mutants and clever charlatans with advanced tech to be warlocks and wizards).
However, I may do a supplement with help from others (I think it was Twin Agate Dragons, or maybe Auxmaulous ... I apologize to whomever it was if it was someone else) who had the same idea about including optional magic. TAD, if memory serves, was thinking about creating some new core classes that harnessed radiation to power their magic, or something similar, and I have included notes in the core doc about how the GM could incorporate supernatural elements, especially with regard to certain psionic powers related to other planes, outsiders, etc., or which affect creatures normally not included in the default setting (giants, dragons, elementals, fey, etc.). It could make for an awesome Thundarr the Barbarian-inspired optional setting!

BTW, the doc is now up to a printer-boggling 516 pages, but with dm4hire's help, we might be able to trim that # down a bit. For my own personal copy, I will be printing double sided pages so there are only 250+ sheets of paper (or less with dm4hire's reformatted version). Still a thick doc, which will probably work best in a 3 ring binder. I'll be buying a crapload of those 8-1/2" X 11" transparent plastic page protector thingies (can't remember what they're called) and binding my personal hardcopy that way.

Here is a sneak preview the other 5 illustrations:
Robot battle royale for Robots chapter;
Mutant vs. knights for Mutations chapter;
Ettin vs. carn for Bestiary chapter;
Cybersurgery for Cybernetics chapter;
and "I suggest you two kill each other instead of me!" (or "Girls! Girls! You're both the prettiest!") for Psionics chapter.

That is rather large, I'm more partial to Verdana 9.

I'll try it out and see how it looks; cutting down the page count would be easier on printers and trees ...
Just tried Verdana 9, and its almost exactly the same size as Calibri 11! :) Check it out ...
I'll play around with diff fonts and see if I can pare the size down a bit.
