Do spells scale with size?

Rules Questions

I have a home game where one of the races is Diminutive in size. In order to be viable in combat, he is using a +1 Forceshot pistol out of ToS. According to the book, it does 1d6 Force damage as it is based on the Magic Missile spell.

My question then is, if it's made for a Dim size character, does the weapon damage scale? What about from a wand?

If it's based on magic missile no. The only time it would scale with size is if it was an effect that created a virtual weapon... flame blade or claws come to mind but I can't think of much else. You could even argue that flame bladed doesn't scale with size.

I would say that no spells scale with size.

Then what about abilities like Wildshape? Does my 6" tall druid turn into a medium sized bear?

Wildshape states the size of the creature you turn into. It's not relative to your size.

You could house rule Wild Shape to be different for your diminutive druid. Just be careful when you start moving around when they gain access to different sizes, and leave the parts on elementals and plants alone.

Example:
At 4th level - Diminutive and Tiny Animals
At 6th level - Small and Medium Animals; Small Elementals
At 8th level - Large and Huge Animals; Medium Elementals; Small and Medium plant creatures.
10th and 12th Level - same as written

That way you would keep with the flavor of the ability/spell: the higher level ability/spell allows you to change your size more than the earlier levels.

By the RAW, yes, your 6" tall druid would become a medium size bear.

Now I need to find an official ruling on sizes. One book I have says a Diminutive sized character would be 6" tall. Another says 6" tall makes it a Fine size.

Which is right?

And I always wondered what happened to spells with small radii like magic circle against evil. What happens if you cast a spell with a 5ft or 10 ft radius, but you are large? Would it be 5ft from the squares you take up, or 5 ft from your center? Seems like some dragons could get screwed since the whole radius of some spells could be inside their body.

Emanation effects are the one that I wonder about. If a Gargantuan cleric can channel energy, does the 30 ft. emanation start from the edges of his 20 ft. space?

I'd definitely support the notion of some specific Tiny or smaller or Huge or larger creatures having special exceptions, such as a race of diminutive fey whose tiny bodies can't handle 'big magic' and whose damaging magics are automatically minimized, or a range of far-seeing cyclopean giants who automatically extend & widen the range & area of magics they throw.

If I remember right, there was some dev post about it at one point.

The idea was that you pick which intersection that you occupy to emanate the spell from, and can move it as a free action. I am not 100% sure on that though, as now I cannot find that post...
