So when's the player guide due to hit the internetz?

FWIW I miss the Companion PGs ala Second Darkness/Legacy of Fire.

Well, when does "The Stolen Land" ship? :(

In some ways, I like what they did with CoT better then the Companion PGs. Timing the relevant Compaion to hit at the same time as the Player's Guide was a stroke of genius.

The Kingmaker player's guide will be available once Kingmaker #1 ships in a month or two.

The real question is : Will it be a pdf/free version (like for "Council of thieves") or a "hardcover" version like for the over campaigns? As far as I'm concern, I prefer a "hardcover" version, even if it costs some money, but I dislike to read on my screen pdf files.

I assume it will be a free pdf version, since it's not listed anywhere in the Store for those of us (all of us?) that would want to preorder it to receive it with Kingmaker #1. No?

I am quite sure that James has stated that it would be a free PDF like for Council of Thieves.

Yep - it will be a free PDF.

As far as not liking to read on screen - I'm with you. Why not just print it out? They are not that long ... if you have a decent printer, print it out yourself; if you'd rather, take the PDF to a local printer, Kinkos, Staples etc and have them print it out. You'll pay a couple bucks, the same as you would have if Paizo had offered a print version.

The nice thing about printing the PDF is that, if you're like me and like to keep your character sheet and other related documents together in a 3 ring notebook, you can punch the Players Guide printed sheets and keep them right in the notebook for quick reference.

Just confirming that, yes, it will be a free PDF version. We won't be printing copies of the player's guides.

I'm pleased it'll be a pdf, I plan to email it to all my players before we get together to make their characters.

It will be free, so you can email them the link. That way Paizo can keep track of everyone who has a copy, and can alert them directly should updates or changes be made to the document so that they can redownload it.

And by keeping track, perhaps it may become worthwhile to print again. I still treasure my Runelords Player's Guides more than almost any other product.

*itching to get this*

It's VERY hard to justify giving out free print products. For the first few Player's Guides, the justification was that we're starting up a new line of products and introducing a new campaign setting; let's give folks these free booklets to show them that we mean business and that our products will have very high production values.

Now that Golarion and the Adventure Path line is established, justifying a continued free print run for the player's guides has become less and less of an option.

And making sure that they're free is important to me, since free player's guides helps to remove barriers for PCs getting into adventure paths in the first place. For now... PDF versions are the way to go, since we save lots of money not printing and not shipping (still costs us money to illustrate and write and lay them out, of course...).

Not to put too fine a point on it, but any idea when this will be shipping? I've been looking forward to Kingmaker for a while now.

Thanks.

It should go up in the next 10 days or so given the usual schedule of despatch

If I subscribe to the AP line this week, will I get the first "Kingmaker"? Or will it take affect next month? I can't wait to get this in my hands.

You should be able to choose between the current month's AP or the next month's AP.

We'll be starting this campaign in a few weeks, and one of my players had a question I couldn't answer, and haven't seen discussed yet. In the kingdom roles - what do the Marshal and Warden actually do?

This isn't a question of what stats they use, or what effect they have on the kingdom - those are spells out. What is the actual job?

Thanks for any help.

As far as I understand, they kind of work hand in hand with the General. Simply put:

General - Overall commander of the armies.
Marshal - Defense of the outer regions (wilderness, rural areas, etc.)
Warden - Defense of the inner regions (capital, city guards, etc.)
