I'm trying to guestimate how much it would cost on a weapon just for the ability to add both the stat adjustments from a belt of giants strength and gauntlets of ogre power, the ability of which is primarily only found on the artifact Hammer of Thunderbolts.
This is both for market price and for construction.
Thank you for taking the time to read and reply.

Gauntlets of ogre power and belt of giants str both increase your str.
To put this ability in a weapon I'd probably start at the usual price on a wondrous item of str:
Ability bonus (enhancement) = Bonus squared x 1,000 gp
...but icreasing it a 50% for using a different body slot.
If the weapon has any other property like a magic enhancement then it also should cost a 50% more for adding a property to an already magical item.
full price for market half for construction, as usual.

He means what would be the price of an item that allows a character wearing a belt of giant's strength and gauntlets of ogre power to stack their bonuses.
I have no clue on the cost myself, quite a few of those specific weapons are a bit hard to decompose into costs for the various abilities.

uh, then I s'pose the price should be the difference between the two objects price and a belt with the total added bonus.
gauntlets are +2 str? 4000gp
belt is +4? 16000gp
added= 20000gp
a +6 belt is 36000gp
so your item should be 16000gp
but since you are using 2 body slots instead of one for the same effect then the price should halve. Not using a slot doubles the price.
8000gp sounds good?
28000 total price vs 36000, a 8000gp discount over the usual price for this enhancement for using double the body slots.

Maybe he plays a mixed 3.5/PF game, who knows.
Very true.
At least it's not as bad as it could get in 2e/1e: *massive damage* output with that combination. Instant death to giants et al was an added bonus... say in the Against the Giant series. ^_^

I've been given the task afew times to put together magic items for the DM in a campaign. I approached my DM and wanted to add the property to a weapon I was forging in game for a unique little Paladin of mine. So I reached out to the boards to find out the possible cost and see if anyone could/would brainstorm on the matter.
The Gauntlets of Ogre Power were upgraded though kept a lower strength, more to give influence to the strength/power of an Ogre.
Gauntlets of Ogre Power
Aura moderate transmutation; Caster Level 8th
Slot hands; Weight 4 lbs.; Price 16,000 gp
These gauntlets are made of tough leather with iron studs running across the back of the hands and fingers. They grant the wearer great strength, adding a +2 enhancement bonus to his Strength score. Both gauntlets must be worn for the magic to be effective.
In addition, whenever the wearer is subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for an opposed check (such as during grapple checks, bull rush attempts, and trip attempts), the wearer is treated as one size larger if doing so is advantageous to him or her and also considered to be one size larger when determining whether a creature’s special attacks based on size (such as improved grab or swallow whole) can affect him or her.
And finally, if the wearer of the gauntlets meets the remaining prerequisites of the feat awesome blow (Strength 25 with the gauntlets, power attack and improved bull rush feats), it grants the feat as long as the gauntlets are worn.
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, bull’s strength, enlarge person; Cost 8,000 gp

GENIOUS! Very cool. I missed those gauntlets so much :)

Not using a slot with "affinity" adds 50%. Not using any slot adds another 50%. I'd say using two slots would drop the cost by 25% at most, definitely depending on the slots (since many are rarely used). So more about 12,000 gp.
If adding Belt +6 to Gauntlets +2, you have:
36,000 + 4,000 = 40,000
+8 costs 640,000
Difference 600,000, *75% (two slots) = 450,000 gp.

No affinity and slotless seem overlapping to me. And the weapon must be wielded as well; making the set effectively use three slots.
If adding Belt +6 to Gauntlets +2, you have:
36,000 + 4,000 = 40,000
Wow, I completely forgot that belts of giant strength also come in the +6 version.
This should be the defining price since its the combination wich benefits the most a potential user.
+8 costs 640,000
Difference 600,000, *75% (two slots) = 450,000 gp.
You put an excess 0 there, I think. (8^2)x1000 = 64000
So 64000 - 40000 = 24000
If I apply the 50% then it's 12000gp
Seems thay you got the right price anyway. :)
