Just off the phone with the wife. Turns out she will not be able to be home this morning. Her school bus was in an accident. Hit a patch of ice and bumped into a minivan. Now she has to go take a pee test and waste all her morning doing retraining.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that.

When my dad was in the Air Force, he had an assignment where he got to sit in missile silos 2-3 days every couple of weeks (and, no, it was never like Hollywood where he held a gun to another person's head and told him to TURN...THE...DAMN...KEY). He drove the van, and he somehow didn't see a lightpole he backed into and left a little dent. They suspended him from alert duty for a month while they conducted an investigation.

That is sweet! Thanks!

Heh. I'm patient with the slow, the ignorant, even the stupid. But malevolence doesn't really deserve patience. Douchy debate tactics are not genuine conservation.

You know who I would love to see ... even though he's probably way too obscure? Does anyone remember ROM?

Yep. I think the rights reverted back to whomever had them, so Marvel can't do anything with him. Or, I'm completely wrong. It's happened...

Pretty much why I don't post in the political threads now. Got tired of the backhanded snarkiness.

Yeah, that's a good idea. *eye roll*

What should I have for dinner on my way to my dress rehearsal today?

I had Taco Bell before Sunday's rehearsal, some delicious Thai/Chinese food (the line is pretty blurry on the dish I had) before yesterday's, and sushi for lunch today. Nothing too junk-foodish - I'm going to be having quick meals out all week, and I don't want them all to be burgers or pizza. Maybe just a soup and sandwich combo somewhere?

I am assuming it's super-de-dooper cold where you are CH, so I say hot soup is always a good thing. Or maybe some nice beef stew or corn chowder? I always crave stuff like that when it's cold.

I've been very good lately at avoiding the contentious threads. I hardly even know they're there anymore.

BTW and FWIW, Mairkurion, I thought you handled yourself quite well in there.

Yeah I'm proud of the fact that I didn't post up in either the Conservative or Liberal threads. I have felt a lot less pissed off while doing it too.

Course, then I had a non-political thread go political trollish, but I think that one righted itself a bit.

Actually, it's warmed up to 22 degrees Fahrenheit today. It's practically summer. I hear it may be up to 30 tomorrow. ;)

Seriously, though, you are onto something. There's a little cafe I like to go to that's not far from the theater and it has good soup.

I posted my 2 CP there and then sat back because I KNEW it would be a mess. It's like trying to quantify the tiers or which edition works better. It's all subjective and people get real wound up on the crap.

You managed to keep it civil, and sometimes that's the best you can do.

Wondering where Moorluck and Solnes are bookmark post made before I go do some work.

Thanks for the perspective, guys.

Yeah, at least I was smart enough to stay out of the dumb tiers thread, though I too don't care for it. Now editions, that's such a different matter... 8P

Lots. Nothing. For the most part, it's just work stuff getting to me. I'm trying to get information in for a scholarship opportunity, and I"m also trying to get to see my father in SC before my wife gets back, but it's looking like that's not going to happen. When she went away, I honestly thought I'd be doing a lot more things socially, but right now all I'm doing is catching up on chores around the house due to the poor weather. I also tried to change my schedule so I would be able to make it to a very important meeting at my second job, but that kinda fell through, so I'll be late...as usual. My boss understands, but it's still annoying. I guess I'm just frustrated by the twists and turns of life.

Freehold DM wrote:

Thanks Freehold DM, I appreciate the goodwill.

Unfortunately I really don't see too much honest debate going on in those threads, just a bunch of extremists yelling at each other. I really don't have the time or inclination to jump in, and I end up being perceived by people who disagree with me as a partisan. I don't need that useless stress in my life right now. I really dislike being stereotyped.

Damn it Heathy, your endless obsession for totp has manifested itself in my dreams!

Just before I woke up I was on the phone and the last thing I remember saying was this: Mine, mine, Uncle Raven. Minemineminemine. Mine. Mine.

I don't even have an Uncle Raven. :\

Or maybe is was Raven Darkholme.

There's room for both of us. :)

So, a blink monkey and a krenshar pei (suggested by the lovely Ambrosia Slaad)...I can have something by this weekend.

I think this is gonna be another one of those times when I have to tell the OCD to sit down and shut up. I just don't have time to read all the stuff I missed today. :/

I did get to go measure the new apartment today, which was cool. Now I have lots of shiny new diagrams to work with. And as soon as I measure my furniture I'll start making plans for what goes where. I even measured the closets. :)

The rest of the day has been filled with about three days worth of chores. Which I have to get back to now, but I should at least be able to check in from time to time this evening.
