They do that sometimes. Persnally I think you should go. What concerns do you have?

My wife is going to do something similar to study french. I say go for it, you may run into her there.

Well for one, Christina and I just watched Taken the other day. I know it's just a movie, but it has me a little wierded out. Also, Christina wouldn't be able to go and I'm not sure I want us to be apart for that long.

My only experience was a couple day layover in New Orleans over Mardi Gras, but it was dismissed. That'll teach me who I go on vacations with. ;P In my short stay, it is interesting to observe what people can smuggle in and/or create. And you got to make sure you find a suitable clique and don't come across as being afraid.

OK so the last couple were average and didn't need much comment, so I'll get through more than I thought before I expire.

Don't watch Turistas, then...

I understand where you are coming from. My wife despairs at leaving me alone in the house for 3 months.

Don't know how you do it. My brain would be mush.

Seen the movie. It is just that; a movie.

How long are you supposed to be over there?

From the 3rd of May until the 14th of August.

Holy crap. You may just be going for the same thing my wife is going for, albeit through a different program. I'll have to check.

Plus, I'm kinda nervous because I have never been more than a day's drive away from my mom in my life.

Maybe it's me, but if someone's footing the bill for the opportunity, I couldn't pass it up. As for keeping in touch with Christina, I'd suggest that you guys set up Skype on your computers and communicate that way daily. I've known folks who've done that in this type of situation.

What's to say it isn't? have you heard some of the drivel that comes out of my mouth (well seen the drivel that comes out of my fingers then...)?

You mean there's a difference? :P

BTW - have you've been buying all the Questhaven stuff as they're being released?

Yes. I have 2 Genius .pdfs and the Armour Properties .pdf sitting in my Paizo cart right now. All I need is the Restless Souls and I can hit Checkout. :/

I find the .pdfs actaully quite good. I can throw 3 or 4 together at a time and it'll only cost me less than 10 bucks (Australian) which is within my budget and gives me a few new things to read and plunder.

I'd definately consider being a Senior Patron on a Questhaven Campaign Setting Book if I had the money available.

I'll be getting the Wyrd shortly, but maybe it was me but I was actually hoping the elf-ogre crossbreed was actually an ogre and not an ogre magi. It would have been more unusual, but I understand why he did what he did.

I'll have to spread my money wisely, as I REALLY want to get on board with SGG's Modern/Sci-Fi Pathfinderization too.

I undestand that can be a problem. I grew up as a sort of nomad so I never had that hang up. Did I ever tell you about the guy I met at SUU that bragged about having never been farther than 50 miles from Cedar City in 40 years?

No, but that sounds like a funny story.

+1

An opportunity like this doesn't come along every day.

I didn't like Wyrd as much as Ironborn (loved that one... I have an Ironborn Character planned out, I just need someone who'll let me play it... Pat you need a new PbP!) but it was still good.

I'd like to think that Paizo will look at a Modern Rulesset somewhere down the track (2011 or 2012) and I'd like to wait and confirm that before I go and jump onboard SGG's model.

This seems to be a once in a lifetime type of opportunity, in which case my advice would be to go. Just be cautious. Don't go anywhere alone, watch who you speak to, and what kind of information you pass on to people you don't know.

In addition, the State Department issues travel warnings for the public for almost every country. Do a search and your sure to find something about Paris. Not to sound to cliche-sih, but knowing really is half the battle.

I can't see Paizo investing in that before 2013, to be truthful; if at all. Modern/Sci-Fi seems a bit more niche than the typical fantasy RPG; at least that's been my observation. Now if they picked up a couple of 'technical advisors' ... let's say Bulhmahn and Cook... :P

I look at it as the next best thing. I have hopes. <crosses fingers>

Yeah but all they'd need is one Rulebook to cover it (Modern/Future)and then they could let the 3PP who want to go down the Modern route take over. They don't need to concentrate on it, just get it out there and let others do the rest.

Nah, work is taking over. It's the start of the month, so after I get done with numbers and such, I'll have a long period of boredom.

I'm multitasking in the background here. Just not efficiently. :D

You have to buy birth certificates to get the taxes done? Why so?
I don't know to be honest. Talking with my Aunt...who is my accountant she says she needs teh kids Birth Certificates. And you aren;t given them here, you have to buy them.

I think they're getting more strict with proof of dependency for child care credits.

If it is not absolutely vital for you to be at work today, then call in sick and hit the sack.

Because the rest of the employees that work for him notoriously do the same thing. :P

I think that's why I was disappointed. Really, the items were great this year, so my expectations were high. Getting an average entry just bothered me.

Onto my last review now. Then to Vote.

I ended up with 13 Monsters in my Keep pile (although at least 3-4 of those I know for a fact are down the bottom of the list). And at this stage there's only one spot that's definately taken (Ossuary Golem) although given that it is so good it will probably advance anyway so I might give my Vote elsewhere).

I might just get 2 hours sleep in...

Voting is done. I might swap out the Ossuary Golem when I wake up depending on what you guys say, but other than that I'm out for a couple of hours.
