Dead Reckoning.

I play in Patrick's Apalachee Jihad. Started in his Chronicles game too but bowed out when the allergies started. I'm in Heathansson's pbp, the historical game that Taliesin took over (hiatus?), and the Dark Sun game in hiatus (which Shiny may take over).

Before you decide to donate all your gaming stuff to your good buddy Mairkurion, maybe we should talk about this...

have you looked at your FB wall? at least I think there is a hint there

From what I can tell, The Sword of Rhiannon (aka The Sea-Kings of Mars) is the only Matthew Carse book she wrote. Erik John Stark is her recurring character. (And fwiw, I prefer those books, of which PS republished four and I've read three.)
I guess I'm just looking for a standalone rather than to invest in a series. Sometimes I get antsy that I have to wait for the next one after the ending cliffhanger. There's been some trilogies being re-release and bound together, which is a bonus for readers like me. :D

Steppe's a fun, very fast read. The Ship of Ishtar is more to be savored. I enjoyed SoR, but the Skaith books kicked ma hiney. Secret of Siharat (sp?) was published by PS as a stand alone. Have you read Dark God's Kiss?

Just logged back in and read. WHOAH

I've read none of 'em. I haven't read fiction in a long time and I'm slowly getting myself back into the genre.

Thanks, Woodraven.

CrimJ, very sorry to hear about that. It is very frustrating. I was host (not GM) for a game once where it was the GM who hosed everyone at my house once. People had arranged work schedules, my wife had bought dinner to cook for them later, I had child-proofed the entire house for his daughter and stocked the fridge for her and his baby-mama, and he let her totally hose us all. I blew up like Krakatoa, and threw them out of my house. Oh, man. Yeah, so sorry. The last few games I worked on, all except one spur-of-the-moment, also have been postponed.

Urizen, I really recommend Dark God's Kiss as the best book in the line so far. The closest one to it, after the Skaith books, is the Ship of Ishtar, FWMOIW.

whats up?

Well lets see I just started a game and worked hard to convert it to PFrpg and well I was just canceled one week after basically all we f. did was make characters. Well all they did. I worked my tush off to try to get everything up for a fun game heck I even made cardboard minis for everyone and all the npcs.

Liberty's Edge

People who beep their car horns repeatedly for somebody to come out rather than go knock at the door should at least be water boarded; I'm liking nailing their sack to a chair though.

Dark God's Kiss is the first in the series? Sorry if I'm coming across as redundant. :D

Tried it and people just stopped posting.

I calmed down by the way. Removed my status because of both the ugly language. Hmm who would think that FB would not have a filter, they should. Plus even though I am upset does not mean that I should take it out on everyone else.

It's a collection of short stories around a single character. There's another collection around CL Moore's other big character, NW Smith. I like them both, but I kind of crazy love Jirel of Joiry. NW Smith is more Han Solo flying through a Lovecraftian universe, Jirel of Joiry is medieval fantasy analogue swordswoman. Her turn-ons are hacking through her enemies and going to hell to get vengeance on a man who took liberties with her.

Maybe it wasn't all bad for them to known the consequences of their behavior.

Well one person had their kid see the f bomb four or five times. so yeah feel bad about that. Another who would have played later if possible well he saw and it responded in kind to me. so be it.

Hey, it was a good game, even if us players were horrible horrible people. In any case, I still have fond memories of that game.

(I admit, half of the fond memories were because my solution to finding out what was in the portal was to tie a rope to the halfling and toss him in, but it was still a good game.)

Thanks for getting me back on track, Urizen.

Anyway, Crimson Jester, you don't need those guys! You don't need the hassle! F@~# them! F#&$ their lack of appreciation and commitment!
F%$% the Hondas they rode in on!

You know what would really f&!&in' show them? You just send all your game materials (minis bubble wrapped) to:
Mairkurion
111 Mage's Way
Hannalore House,
Celn, Aerth

Fnck Yeah!

I didn't know that was a suburb of Dallas.

Missus is informing me that it's nighty night time. Ciao, citizens of FaWTL.

Write a summary of one experience from each grade that I did not learn from a book. I spent most of my time reading books, staying to myself, and that is all I can remember. I didn't have a childhood I wish to remember, I have just blocked most of it out of my head. plus remembering 5-18 years back

Of my two games, I had better luck when I recruited from my paizo board amigos, namely those people who were already in games I was in.

The game that I recruited freely for was the one that dragged.

So maybe you need to find a small circle of people who are addicted to the boards... you could try and recruit fawtlers...

My house is actually a planar location, receiving mail from both worlds.

You live in China, too?

Cuz here they do that in the middle of an apartment complex with hundreds of suites, at 6 am. And I mean they ride those horns. I've tossed a few things out my window... and not just dirty words either.

well I am heading to bed, night all. See the boards in the morning

It's cheap and classless and inconsiderate.

Definitely agree. You gotta look for the "usual suspect" types.

Naw I just found some really cool cardboard ones, used good card stock, used a nice map, found good back ground music and took the time to cut them out and make bases and...yeah

Thinking I need a nice fire now.

Thanks! Looks like a lot of reading.

What? It's only 70 pages! Go take a look at Chronicles of The Silver Rose Company, then we'll talk about a lot of reading.

(I would of linked to Heathy's pbp, but that's the only other thread around here other than the various FAWTLs that got long enough that it had to split into another thread, and I wouldn't try to get anyone to read all that.)

Still, all the pbps linked so far have been good pbps.

Morning SoFAWTLers!

Thanks for the mention Davi! Yeah, PbPs can be hit or miss, and it really helps to have people who are committed to posting when you play. I have become fairly ruthless about ditching non-posting characters and recruiting new ones. I also keep the character count fairly high, that way if there's a few non-posters the whole game doesn't go caflumph ...
