Exactly how many tentacle attacks do the octopus, squid and giant squid get? The giant octopus lists 8 tentacles, but the other three creatures just have "tentacles".

Squids have 10 tentacles.

Poofs from his den of puppy love.

Did someone say, 'tentacles'?

They have eight arms and two tentacles, actually. Pathfinder does get it mixed up a bit.

Note that a "tentacles" attack is a single attack that is made with all the tentacles at once.

Our tentacles sense was tinkling, too.

But this dry discussion about pathetic sea creatures is getting us nowhere. Break out the young females and the schoolgirl uniforms.

If no number is listed then all the tentacles constitute one attack. In other words, unlike it's giant cousin, the normal-sized octopus's tentacles are fairly weak individually, but all eight together are enough to do measurable damage.

This talk about meek, limited creatures of time and space tires us.

They all pale in comparison to The Infinite. Not much is known about the Infinite, except that is name is an understatement, for its number of tentacles way surpase infinity. As does each tentacles reach. A mere shadow of its touch is in every tentacle's touch.

Fear it.

OK, so the squid, the giant squid, and the octopus all have just one combined tentacles attack. The giant octopus, however, has eight individual tentacle attack.

So, is it correct to assume that if you use beast shape II to polymorph into a giant octopus, you can make eight tentacle attacks?

Grand Lodge

Octopuses feed among rocks, so tend to grab onto an anchor point with at least two tentacles and attack with the rest. Squid hunt in open water and have two feeding tentacles plus eight shorter arms (which, just to be confusing, are the same body parts that are called tentacles on an octopus).

So I'd say, for an octopus, six tentacles, plus beak attack against a grappled opponent; for a squid, two tentacles to grab, or constrict plus eight arms plus beak attack against a grappled opponent.

Correction: Octopi.

Yes.
