Can you target a square you suspect has an invisible foe in it with a cleave attack?

I don't see any reason why not.

Yeah, requirements seem to be merely that you hit one foe and that your target for the cleave be another adjacent foe. Thanks, Bill!

Anyone else see a reason why not?

Yes. Its basically a wide swing. With a bit of luck you can easily hit a nearby invisible target.

They get the normal 50% miss chance and +2 AC.

Um 50% miss chance is right, but they do not gain +2 to AC (???). Invisible creatures gain a +2 to hit creatures who cannot see them and those creatures are denied the Dex to AC.

Invisible: Invisible creatures are visually undetectable. An invisible creature gains a +2 bonus on attack rolls against sighted opponents, and ignores its opponents' Dexterity bonuses to AC (if any). See Invisibility, under Special Abilities.

Total Concealment: If you have line of effect to a target but not line of sight, he is considered to have total concealment from you. You can't attack an opponent that has total concealment, though you can attack into a square that you think he occupies. A successful attack into a square occupied by an enemy with total concealment has a 50% miss chance (instead of the normal 20% miss chance for an opponent with concealment).

You can't execute an attack of opportunity against an opponent with total concealment, even if you know what square or squares the opponent occupies.

Maybe it was the AoO rule that had me questioning this during a PF game last night. I allowed it, but thought I'd run it by other gamers to see what the consensus would be. Thanks, all!
