Worst class changes poll categories inquiry


Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion


Another best/worst poll is soon to come, and as promised I am now planning to poll class changes. This week I am going to start with the worst changes (followed by the best changes in the following week). Based on forum discussions, I have put together a couple different categories, but if there are any others that people feel strongly about, please let me know in this thread.

Some of these categories might not seem bad at all, but that's because I like to ideally use mostly the same categories in both the "worst changes" poll and in the "best changes" poll.

The Bards in my groups hate the Music Rounds per day change.

I had to add a house rule to increase it from 2 multiplier to 4 multiplier and allow them to use unlimited musics in situations I deem non-combat (or otherwise for flavor.)

Yes, I have heard many concerns about their rounds/day system now. Thanks, I'll definitely add that.

  • Animal companion changes
  • Nature's Bond option for the druid
  • No more acid/alchy fire for sneak attack
  • Familiar/bound items
  • Spell nerfs
  • Clerics getting their deity's favored weapon
  • Unarmed BAB try #3
  • Capstone abilities (individually or separately)
  • Favored terrain
  • Wizard favored school change could be broken up into "School specialization powers" and "Changes to prohibited schools"
  • Lay on hands and mercies

    Not to say I'm complaining about all of them, but here you go.

    Animal companion changes? What change are you referring to? Are you referring to their creature stats?

    Unarmed BAB try #3? Sorry, I'm not really sure what you are referring to here. I'm guessing you are referring to the monk's Flurry of Blows Attack Bonus progression? I see it is different from Beta to Final, so I am also guessing that it was different in Alpha which would be the reference to "try #3"?

    Instead of being animals with special abilities, they're now an "animal" class with different animals being analogous to player races.

    Try #1 was 3.0. Try #2 was 3.5.
