Spellcraft And Learning New Wizard Spells

Rules Questions

I have a rules question on how wizards learn new spells.

Under the Spellcraft description on page 106, it states "If you fail to learn a spell from a spellbook or scroll, you must wait at least 1 week before you can try again."

Under the rules for adding spells (Adding Spells to a Wizard's Spellbook) on page 219, it states "If the check fails, the wizard cannot understand or copy the spell. He cannot attempt to learn or copy that spell again until he gains another rank in Spellcraft."

Do both of these apply, i.e. wait at least a week and gain a rank in Spellcraft? Or are the rules on page 219 legacy rules that should have been changed?

Both would defiantly not apply. I would go with rule on page 106 under spellcraft as it more likely to be correct.

That change in Spellcraft was also in the Beta book, so this seems like one of those changes that didn't quite make it all the way through the whole book.

Sovereign Court

The later entry seems to be a hold over from Dungeons and Dragons 3.5.

One of the little things that slipped into the book. I'm sure that it'll get errata ed when Paizo can catch up.
