have you ever heard the story of the wight dragon?

Aaron Bitman |

Nope, never heard it.
(Sorry, but you KNEW I just HAD to say that.)
Seriously, though, that story is a good demonstration of why I've put no stock in rumors (since I ran Keep on the Borderlands about a quarter-century ago.) There's no way to tell true rumors from false ones, or in this case, from misleading information.

Erm, Ropers are open content. In fact, the Roper chapter in Dungeon Deniznes Revisited is awesome :)
Also, Ropers are one of the most dramatically atered monsters in Pathfinder. Their hit points are 162 (up from 85), bite does 4d8+18 damage (up from 2d6+6), and the DC for weakness is 25 (up from 18).

We didn't try. We just reassembled Vecna himself. Yep, it's our fault that he came back and became a god.

I still blame NAFTA.

But poke around on the boards and I'm sure you'll find one of us spewing hate for the tojinada or the delver or a few others here and there.
The cynic in me wonders if the 'hate' for delvers and tojianida are just because they are both easy to customize by adding HD and templates, thus decreasing the incentive to purchase more bestiaries. How many people can you really convince to by yet another collection of monsters if you've already given them the tools to make any creature they could imagine? That could also be why much of the useful advice for monster advancement/customization that was in the 3.5 MM was removed from the PF Bestiary.
On the other hand, maybe people just hate the tojanida because its artwork in the MM is just awful. After all, while they've refrained from allowing useful guidelines for HD advancement, Paizo has been otherwise generous in customizable creatures and tools to customize monsters.

The flumph also wasn't in the SRD, though, it was separately licensed by WotC to Necromancer Games, who made it OGC.
I'm not sure if flumphs were in 4e, either (they are not in the MM1, MM2, or MM3, but I don't have nearly all the 4e supplements). Flumphs are in the 5e Monster Manual, though. They've definitely gotten more chances, even if you don't count their appearances in OOTS.Looks like Tojanida ultimately did make it into Paizo's Bestiary 3...how does the B3 artwork compare to the 3.5 version?
Unrelated: anyone know why Paizo never bothered to put any of their monster artwork online the way WotC did?
The Delver still isn't in any of the main Paizo Bestiaries (at least, it doesn't come up on a search of the PRD and isn't in the B5 according to a post on the B5 thread. What other monsters (if any) from the official SRD have not made it into a Paizo bestiary?
