I'm wondering if there is an Etools or PC Gen that will work with the Pathfinder game. I love the ease of use for updating the characters and that stats are changed automatically with this type of program. Thanks!
HeroLab is a very easy PC tool to use. It has datasets to support the different game systems (3.5, 4E, PFRPG, etc). It is extremely easy to use and quick to create/edit characters. The downside is you only get one dataset with the core purchase ($30) and additionals are $20. But if you only plan on playing the best RPG around (PFRPG of course!), then it might be worth the $$.
It is from the same people who produce the d20pro virtual gameboard software that was used during some of the events at GenCon. Check it out at

PGGen. Go Here -> To Download
Make sure to pick up 5.16.1 and the Pathfinder RPG Dataset.
I only just found the dataset today so I'm not sure how stable it is. It works GREAT with the beta so I think it will be fine.

Thank you, Dennis!
We're still continuing to iron out bugs and improve on the Pathfinder support, so please check it out and report any bugs or inconsistencies you might find to our Yahoo! Group at pcgen@yahoogroups.com.

An easy way to convert beta or 3.5 characters would be stellar.
I'm currently thinking (and designing) an idea to allow statblocks to be pasted into an application and having that converted into a MapTool token for use with PF. I wouldn't call it a "3.5E -> PF" converter, but once the tool is working it should be possible to extend it to doing a conversion as well. (That wasn't my original plan, but I like it so I'll add that to the wishlist. ;))

It would be nice to see someone do a mod for e-tools. Course it would have to be unofficial and use at your own risk, but it would be nice. How long before we see a final version for PC Gen, any guesses?
Well I'm using it now. I used it for the beta and it was great there aren't a huge number changes between the two... I figure I'll keep using it and just keep an eye on the calculations make sure nothing is off whack.

I stopped using e-tools when WotC took the data sets away from Code Monkeys. PC Gen has come along way since the last time I looked at it. The interface has improved greatly but it is still confusing to first time users.
There is a couple of nice excel based sheets for 3.5. Have those been updated for Pathfinder?

This guy has created a usable Excel sheet.

is there some way to include the ARG material in PCGen?
Yes.... learn the PC gen syntax and mechanics and hand code it yourself.
This would not be a trivial task.
I've essentially given up on PC Gen and purchased the commercial product. Herolab does the job and since they're paid to do so, they update things on a very timely manner. They also cover a hell of a wide base, not only the rules. but supplements such as the APS, and the settings books.

You might check sCoreForge that is maintained by thebluecanary if you are averse to Hero Lab (I will say that the HL implementation of the Advanced Races Guide is awesome!). I'm not sure if he's done the AVG, but he actively works to maintain the sheet.
