Ah its fine, I broke them doing something that up til the breakage was lots of fun. I am a student so I'm getting all my lectures emailed to me for the next little while.
Get well soon! I too broke a leg, and I was in surroundings a little less friendly than yours...
(That's Huergar speaking. You have my sympathies too, for what they're worth. I've never broken a leg in real life. I hope you have a nice laptop :)

Ok. Everyone's going.
In the IC thread, we need to get a map. From there we determine the likely point from where the drow emerged onto the surface; the location of the survivors; the place where the battle happened and the route the caravan was taking.
With these info, we then divine the possible dispostions of the drow, which we can then use as premises for our trap... (if they are waiting a certain point then we can tempt them with a bait that will most likely get them all killed.) Drow have a low opinion of non-drow that they usually underestimate us, but hey they're different.

It looks like I am not going to be able to partake in this adventure, due mainly to time restrictions. I am running another thread and also looking at starting another game. Hope everything goes well for you all.
I'm sorry to see that. I wish you well, and Kane will be welcome later in the campaign if you choose otherwise.

Appreciate that.

I noticed that so far Finrod, Greene, Kyra, and Basil have used the new dice roller. Can we stick with Invisible Castle until something is done about the ease of cheating?
To prove my point:
1d20
I'm still not sure on the new dice roller either. I would definitely prefer the IC be used. I know IC has had some server issues as of late (which seem to be gone now), but in those cases I'd rather use an honor system than the new dice roller. Call me crazy that way.
I'll be honoring all rolls so far, but after today, no more please.

How exactly did you do that? Either they fixed the code so you can't do that anymore or you know something about the code that I don't.
1d20 ⇒ 20
Still works. You just have to use the back button on your web browser in Preview. Keyboard shortcuts for the back button and cut & paste help. This took me 8 tries and about one minute.

I overlooked fighter's Weapon Traning 1 giving Huergar +1 attack and +1 damage. I bumped his attack and damage bonuses accordingly (from +17/+12 (dmg +9) to +18/+13 (dmg +10).
Attack +18: (+8 BAB, +6 strength, +2 weapon specialization, +1 weapon training, +1 enhancement)
Damage +10: (+6 strength, +1 weapon focus, +1 greater weapon focus, +1 weapon training, +1 enhancement)

Basil:
may I suggest that we use group initiative..one person rolls and the others take the cue from him...or that the DM rolls it for us..otherwise it will take 10 posts before we even get this fight started..if we go with the first option then we work of the 18 Sunaj just rolled
So, everyone would have the same initiative and act, if I remember correctly, in the order of posting. As this is the first combat, we're all still getting used to how combat works.

WFG:
Anyhoo, Kane and Greene will be bowing out before the next encounter, ostensibly to continue on to the village you all set out for, while the others begin the campaign in earnest (i.e. I'm not killing anyone). If, for some odd reason, you'd like back into the campaign, just shoot me an email, and I'll pbem a quick way back in (and advance any necessary levels as well).
Good luck, and hope to game with you again soon :)

I would have liked to forge more of a relationship with the other paladin in the group, whether it was fractious or just a friendly sort of rivalry, but Wellard never bit
Is that fair? For what it's worth, I remember trying to engage Greene in some role-playing, but you never bit, and I didn't leave the game because of that. I'm only saying this because I'm really disappointed to hear that you're leaving. I liked your role-playing style and your well-crafted posts, and I was really looking forward to seeing how Greene's story played out.
Please come back. It totally fits Greene's character, I think, to leave and come back after further reflection. If one person isn't into role-playing, there are others in the group; and really you should give him a chance before deciding he is inflexible. He also has a concept he's trying to role-play. There has been one encounter, and it seemed to me he was already adjusting his approach, and you might have seen something different in the next encounter.
What's wrong with two paladins? I was happy to see this. It made me think of the early days of AD&D where you actually needed a rule to limit the group to at most three rangers :) Now, in Pathfinder it seems paladin has become a similarly appealing choice.
Well, best wishes in any case. I'll assume that RL issues are predominant here and offer my hope for calm to return. You're leaving a large hole in the group, and I for one hope you'll come back.
Huergar senses a change in Greene. Something isn't right... He doesn't know what to say and hopes that his wordless assistance in the work of shoveling will be a form of adequate expression.

minkscooter |

Just for the record, I said Huergar was open to being talked out of his intended course action:
Unless someone tries to talk him out of it, he plans to seal the entrance
Basil responded by threatening my character:
He looks at Huergar as he moves to seal the cave.
"Do not even think of blocking the way
I understand Wellard is trying to roleplay an uncompromising character, but I don't think that should be an excuse for threatening another player's character, and I'm pointing this out now in case it becomes a pattern.

Noted. Please email me BOTH Minkscooter and Wellard. Private things to be said to both of you, although this next bit is public for all:
Uncompromising, yes. Although the disappointment with the group is a little disheartening on my side (as it was OOC). Honestly, I expected the reaction of the group to be just what it was. If that is disappointing to the paladin, that's fine. If it's disappointing to the player, I'm sorry for that. As I have said: your group WILL run into things you can't kill, or expect to kill that are evil of the most vile sort. So, please keep in mind that opposing the forces of darkness does require PLANNING, as the group surmised, and out of the range of the Telepathy is even better.

I'm going to do a roll call to make sure I know who's still here.
Onyx,
Huergar,
Kara,
Basil
Finrod
Corvax.
Is this correct, or did I miss someone?
Corvax hasn't posted since Jan 2
Finrod since Jan 11.
I want to make sure everyone's still here. Just chime in and say that you're here to let me know (I will have to scale encounters if not everyone's present). I'll wait until Thursday for final responses.
Thanks

DM_Darkmeer |

I'm not adverse to bringing one in, but I wanted to make sure whether yours and Basil's conversation was implying that or not. I'm just wanting to make sure before I set you guys loose in the Beastlands if that's what you want or not.
I like the group and how everyone's working so far. I won't mess with the mix unless the group wants that.

DM_Darkmeer |

I'm sorry to see that JZ. I liked you as a player, but given the number of newbies going through your campaigns, you're feeding the PbP games for the future, and I think that's great. I may try my hand at it soon.
Okay folks. Here's our current breakdown:
Fighter/Rogue
Ranger
Bard
Paladin.
We just lost a Bard/Diviner.
Now we're to the point where a pair or trio of new players would be very helpful We should have a cleric, a wizard/sorcerer, and/or a pure rogue for this. At this point I'm very concerned about how well you will survive as a party going forward with the adventure.
I'll be honest, the next three sections of the adventure is not easy, nor will I allow it to become easy.
So, given the loss of the arcane power (even with Kara and Onyx doing full team ups, this was going to be hard). The need for clerical assistance, as well as, perhaps, someone working an additional (helpful) rogue angle, make me really want to recruit. I won't if you all don't, but I need a Yes or No from everyone. Without a vote from each of you, I will not be able to continue in good conscience.

DM_Darkmeer |

Finrod: Actually, the Sons of Mercy would be the best resource for such a person. Whether or not you all trust them, that is your prerogative. The Sons of Mercy would be great for a cleric, a wizard, and a more investigative-minded Rogue.
The other option that I have in mind is that Corvax and Sunaj find someone to help, and then fade back into the background. It's all a matter of what I need to do to help get the game back on track, so to speak.

Hello, I'm really sorry I just vanished off the face of the planet. My degree heated up a lot very quickly (research projects + exams + huge labs) and I dropped pretty much everything else to keep on top of it. If you'll have me back I'd be happy to continue but if you won't I completely understand. I've read through the thread just in case.

Already knowing a player makes things much easier, Please give me warning if you are going to disappear like that (that way I can hold your spot by DMPC'ing your character for the length of time necessary). I figured it was due to your injury, so I let it be.
You could be the best vessel for assistance the party could have. Perhaps you found the new allies.
I'm still waiting on Basil's word, but given everyone else is okay with recruiting, I'm thinking I'll go ahead with it and I'll post something up. This only means a pure rogue, and a pure arcane caster.

Corvax Schultheiss |

Thanks, I'll definitely let you know if anything else comes up. As for finding new allies, Sigil seems like an easy place to get lost and/or into trouble with the locals so a pair of strangers who assisted me in rejoining the party would make sense. Whatever works really. If I'm going to be the vector for the introduction of new members to the group shall I wait on posting in the game thread until you've found two new players?

DM_Darkmeer |

I'm hoping we have new players by Friday. I'm trying to post more this week and next, so that everyone can get done. I'm about to get ready for work though, so I'll not check again until late this evening/early tomorrow morning.
Corvax:
I'd recommend just saying you got lost or pulled into an alley and the Sons of mercy helped you out, if you want to go that route. If you go that route, the Son of Mercy talking to the party is named Havoreth.
